Anyone who's been in similar scenes like that cloud enveloping like that know EXACTLY how you were feeling. It happens a lot in the pyrenees especially as summer turns to autumn and happy tears is often the only way to express the emotions. I do it all the time. Its like the tears are a thank you to the surroundings for restoring your faith in the world, for it to be able to reach that bit inside the soul that almost makes your insides twist because words cant express how you feel, so the body reacts instead. Its a brilliant feeling and one that should be experienced as often as possible. You're a beautiful soul Hazey. Happy hiking!
Mate stop apologising in your vids for saying 'boring' stuff and 'running out of bants'. What you don't realise is that your USP is literally your fafflings about everything and nothing! People love you for it. Also, never stop talking about your noggin' wobbles. It's obviously helpful to chat to the GoPro about it and so many of us subs will be struggling with the same demons giving us shit. You're so relatable and you come across so genuine. So, STOP APOLOGISING!!!
Hazey, there are very good and strong reasons why we (males, but not exclusively) might be inclined to distract from our feelings (demons), which may well point back to how we were shown and taught, as little people, by parents and others to interpret, respond to and manage our emotions. Who knew! Not through any malice or neglect, but I, for one, was not taught to trust, name, or cope with difficult feelings and have since spent a lifetime distracting from them. Eventually, we have to face them , feel them, and live alongside them! Keep up the good journey and work! ❤
Possibly the best video of yours I’ve ever seen! So happy for you to experience all of this, it’s well deserved. I don’t think you realise what you give to so many! Keep doing what you’re doing, love your work!
A wonderful journey through stunning scenery with you Hazy, Thank you so much. When you were talking about facing demons, the one piece of advice I would give anyone if it’s available to them is get into therapy. I fought it for so many years but it has helped more than I knew. It’s been really tough and I’m still ploughing through my demons but to have someone who listens to my outpourings and is an empathetic ear is huge. When I’ve talked about running away my therapist says “but your head/mind will always be with you”. Stay safe and hope all is well in the Hazy World. ❤😊
Without doubt your best ever video and possibly one of the best ever on TH-cam. I’m a TH-cam wild camping nerd and I think only Liam Brown comes close to that journey. However, scenery on top of Castle Crag has a little more on offer in my humble opinion 😊
When I get that “I am no bigger than a grain of sand” feeling, i generally find that my awe is being incredibly inspired. What a place, and that lake!?! ❤️
It’s amazing to swim in a mountain tarn and have it to yourself - that moment of cold and exhilaration, feeling so small and deliciously u important in a huge landscape - laying back in the water and taking in the view from water level - it’s so special. That swim looked beautiful. A true factory reset mate xx
Hiya hazey lad, it's Geoff, just wanted to say I agree with you, it is unbelievable! Honestly I've been living vicariously through you and this serious of videos. For a last minute trip, this is a belter!
This video has made my day, watching you has made me want to get out and enjoy the simple things in life and I can relate to you with mental health, cause my head is pickled with stuff too, this is probably your best video ever, thank you haze.
I've run ultra races on those paths where you had the "hail camp." That view just stops you in your tracks like a hammer blow. Simply stunning. In fact, it's so good, I'd say it's almost as good as the Lake District! Cracking video grommet.
Never been in the Dolomites and it must be at least 40 years since I hiked in the Alps, but watching these videos brings it all back - especially listening to the birds in the background and the cow bells. Looking forward to the next episode. Much love ❤️ Stay safe!
Mr Hazy, Epic adventure. Fab scenery, scary in parts.....you've put in the miles.... Looking forward to the next instalment and then watching them again back to back. Thanks for sharing.
Brilliant video mate - took me a full hour to load the dishwasher while soaking up your endearing waffle and frolickingness. Felt like I was there with you. Keep your vids coming - the world needs more of this. Cheers from flat-as-a-pancake Modena, Chris 👍
"Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves." John Muir 🙏👊🏻
Fantastic vid. It's funny how emotions change by the second and decisions made can be altered within the blink of an eye on a long TAB. Loved it and well done mate.
Stunning scenery ... we are all insignificant in the bigger scheme of things yet important to the minute details which form the overall picture ... in the main, this is the people we affect and how we affect them whilst contributing to the amazingly beautiful natural world that surrounds us ... thank you for sharing this amazing passage of travel with us all.
That's some beautiful hiking! I've spent the past five months sleeping in a Durston X-mid Pro 2 on the PCT. The best advice I can give you RE: the condensation is 1) sleep with at least one, if not two doors open where possible, and 2) pack the bugger away wet and get it out at lunch to dry - it only takes about 2 minutes on each side whilst laying flat in the afternoon sun. Failing that, set it up at least an hour before you camp and the inside should dry out in all but the worst weather. Great tents; can't recommend them enough!
Dude, you are a good person, stop judging yourself so much, bad times are a part of life, keep doing what you are😊 , a lot of people are out there for you. 😊
These videos are one of the few things that help me stay sane and positive. Even though I'm from Lancashire and my ex-wife is from West Yorkshire, and now even my daughter is at university in Yorkshire, I am 'tolerant' of Yorkshire ppl. Especially Hazey, who I make an exception for. Just wondering if you've ever been around the trough/forest of bowland (just north of Preston)? It's a beautiful area and has some great wildlife as well. One of the last few remaining places in England where you can see marsh harriers and many other rare animals. There are adders as well. Never seen an adder there yet but I've seen plenty of grass snakes. A very large grass snake once slithered between my legs as i was standing in the grass. You see them mostly in the morning warming themselves up on a rock in the sun. If you never have, then consider a trip to bowland. I'm sure you'll love it.
Amazing video, Hazey. Great to share your love of the high mountains. We had a beer with you at Kendal film festival 2yrs ago (or was it 3?!!) Hope to see you again this year. Your banter never fails to entertain & inspire.
My Austrian friend once told me that they only put a bell on one cow per herd, as they always stick together. If you can hear the bell, you've found them.
Fanbloodytastic , epic video, absolutely love it , unbelievable scenery , thankyou so much for sharing this with us, what an incredible amazing experience 😊
Ey up me duck. I don't think you realise how much you help so many fellow sufferers of mental health with your openness about your own struggles with it. Trust me fella, your vids are great, even the bits where you think you're waffling on about nowt ( I recognise the overthinking, trust me) Keep doing what you're doing me owd 🤜🤛💚
Hazey you are 100% right about the demons. I run ultra marathons so that I have all that time with no distractions so that I can chat it out in my noggin rather than just burying my head in the sand. It works 👌
my friend , that is one amazing journey. it's hard to find the words to describe some of the views you captured. All I can say is you are SO LUCKY to get to take a journey like this. Dwayne
Ma"unbelievably"jestic vlog Hazey. Wonder if those Dolomitian Salamanders, when they're not "shaggin or fightin" :) appreciate their Rock Central "backyard" of otherworldlyness ! 😁
Yeh mate, ya just need to DO IT sometimes - to soak up the beauty of an amazing spot. Life is short and if you keep moving, you miss or cut short the special moments… so when you spot them, and you have time, soak up those special moments, cos they’re a one-off. In your nature or not 😉
Fabulous hike. Great to see a place I've never visited. It looks totally different to what I expected. I thought the Dolomites were all Via Ferrata everywhere but that looks much more doable.
Thanks! Couldn’t do the raffle so hope this helps with the dog bill.
That's a very generous Donation 👍👍👍
Tony here, thanks for the multiple shout outs mate! Appreciate you. Jealous AF by the way, looks amazing and beautiful .
man, when you found that campsite at the end - I felt it, I felt it all
I’m still feeling it mate! I wake up in the night laughing with joy about it. Best pitch of my life
