One of the most tragic Spider-Man moments I've ever seen was in the movie Into the Spider-Verse. In it, Miles is talking to a 38 year old Peter Parker who is reluctant to help with Miles investigation, and as Miles starts to tell him "With great power comes great responsibility" Peter angrily cuts him off and tells him he doesn't want to hear that phrase. What's so tragic about this is in that moment we see that Peter at some point feels resentful at his gift. He hates that his Uncle instilled those values in him, because at this point in his life, Peter has lost everything. He lost the love of his life, not through death but by pushing her away. He lost his aunt and uncle. He's even a less effective hero than he had been previously. He spent his entire adult life, lost his entire youth, helping people and it amounted to nothing for him personally. He sacrificed and gained nothing in return, and we typically expect heroes to be fine with that, but this Peter isn't okay with that. He had personal hopes and dreams, and all of that was put on hold while he helped others, a mission with no end, and now he feels like it's too late. That's a hell of a take on Spider-Man.
You forgot to add, being stuck in time loop where you are constantly rebooted, and you are not allowed to grow to be an adult, where writers keep pushing you down the stairs to be young teenager forever, that’s Spiderman’s tragedy, from comics to movies. Although great video and :D I enjoyed it
True. But that's because writers feel that they constantly need to target younger audiences, teenagers, more precisely. I think it's a tendency that developed due to the fact that Ultimate Spider-Man was such a huge hit in the early 2000's (then it kind of flopped harder and harder as they progressed towards the Ultimatum storyarch). And the general consensus is that such target audience, especially movie goers, won't relate to a guy who is somewhere around his 30's (that's Peter's age in the 616 universe, if I remember correctly), tries to make a living as a science teacher at his former school (I'm not sure if he's still doing that though) and has marriage problems. Edit: I looked it up, apparently Peter isn't a teacher anymore, he's working for the Bugle again. Talk about a step back, right? :D
Great video! Everything you Said was spot on, except in 11:12 and the rest of the end of the video, in my opinion. I think the reason he's a "spider"-man is because he IS trying to be someone everyone can look up too and not be afraid of, like a symbol of hope, but no matter what he does or how good he may be, man fears and hates him, just a spider. He'll always be a menace in there eyes. Which in a way, make him MORE tragic, because he IS the good guy and DOES do good but, is never thanked for what he does(I know sometimes he gets thanked by people he saves, but never just by the general public). He just gets told to stop helping and that he is one of the bad guys.
I love these videos so much. I may not agree on your conservative views, but in a world of chaos, you give me a sense of order. Hell, I wish you could analyse my life. Perhaps then it would be easier to know what decisions would be more beneficial for me.
Advice for the youth that dont agree on conservative views, I would advise to not follow the crowd, not conform to the "popular" trends just to be seen and fit in. It is not being true to yourself, it is conforming. Seek people who are both happy and successful and not those who are angry and want to ruin everyone's chances. Liberalism no longer means what it used to, it got hijacked and poisoned. Political movements change over time, the people within them get corrupted by power and the narcissism feedback loop. Freedom is or used to be universally supported by all, not anymore when the radicals seized control of the establishment.
@@ItsaKindOfMagic86 Fear not, good fellow. I don't like radical leftits. I'm not a leftist myself, since my country was run down by them. Still, neither do I like conservatism. It stunts nations and creates nazis.
I don't think I have made any videos in which I would express my views and explain the reasoning behind them entirely. I always aim to look at things from different angles while simultaneously trying to find what seems the most reasonable. I'm certain we could find some common ground regarding our views, though; in the end, I like to think that many of us often aim at the same goal, but our individual circumstances often blind our judgement, and so we miss the true enemy and pick the wrong one. I'm glad to hear, though, that you find my content helpful. My impression is that it's not good enough most of the time, as it's been hard for me to achieve any significant breakthrough. And no matter what I say, there's even more left unsaid. While some people need to learn to expand their horizon, some have to come to terms with the fact that the presence of the unknown is crucial, too. Well, who knows? Maybe I will someday. :)
@@FictionPsychology Personally, I feel that it depends. I used to have a writing space on a page called Quora. Not sure if you know of it or not. I got mildly famous quite quickly. Emphasis on the word mildly, but still, for me that was quite crazy. I'm used to being an introverted statue. Point is I got bored of what little fame I had very rapidly. I felt even lonelier. At least as a small writer, I had my own group of associates. After that augmentation in followers, I felt... I don't know, like I was drifting to outer space. But not in a pretty, adventurous way. Rather, in an isolating manner. So even though you haven't had your breakthrough, I see that as something that can be taken positively. You are no doubt very intelligent and I've binged all your content. It's all very interesting. The opportunities are limitless.
tom holland spider man is so tragic he should be a villain but hes not. like his parents are dead his uncle died his aunt died right in front of him and his true love and best friend doesnt remember him or anyone he cares for doesnt even know him.
