I think you missed this one, though not too big: I noticed that Prowler Miles/Miles 42's accent is more similar to his mom. With his dad gone, he woud take more after his mom in universe 42

I love the fact that the dude got so mad that he forcibly tore into the Multiverse. and it doesn't even feel forced bc a guy that deals in spacial based powers is bound to do something like that sooner or later. But one has to wonder how far he's going to do with this. He's got all this power and it feels like he's going to do more than kill miles. I think he may actually cause a chain reaction throughout the spider verse and kill every single variant of spiderman until nothing's left.

There was so much visual overload that myself and the rest of our group completely missed that he was sent back to the wrong universe. So the twist was very effective for us
The reason why the universe 42 was a twist was because the movie throws so much a you that you’re not even thinking about the numbers. That was a great twist. It’s like a magic trick. They kept our attention over here and we forgot about over there.
I watched the movie twice and the first time, I thought that Miles was from Earth-42 from all the information being thrown in the screens. The second time at the start of Miles intro, there was a small panel mentioning that it was Earth-1610.
the Sadness portrayed in Gwen’s fathers face during her face reveal was just truly magnificent… the colours of Red & Blue on his body signifying the sudden moral dilemma he has to overcome… *Animation can portray things that Real Movies simply cannot*
Miles makes me love being black and speaking Spanish so much !Hes such good representation for black and Latino people. His Jordan’s , where’s he’s from, his family , everything. I got chills from every part of the movie. And the end when he met himself ( with a Puerto Rican accent jaja) it was so fire. Love him so much ! Best multiverse movie and I love Wanda lol.
My favorite Easter egg is when Hobie is going throw the portal after quitting, you can see him throwing down his watch. So the one he gives Gwen later is the one he makes. Like he told Miles to do. “Make your own” Love it! 👏🏽 The portal even opens in his art style.
@@CH4D2009 that show has a shit visual style. It looks so boring and cheap and the writing especially is god awful and lacks the maturity of these Spider-Verse movies.
Miles being an "Anomaly" makes him one of marvels greatest heros even. He literally made his own fate/destiny n can change others fates/destiny by interacting with them. They showed the contrast where Miguel tried to go against his set destiny n the universe corrected itself n destroyed that universe where as miles interacting with peter, pavitri and gwen he alter each of those characters destiny peter having mayday because of miles, gwens dad quiting because of miles intervention and pavitri keeping his gf n her dad. Hes literally a God of causality i can see him playing a role in Kang dynasty due to his ability to rewrite "set" events by just being there.
Dude same lmao. Usually when a plot twist happens, it doesn't like effect me much or I saw it coming, but somehow this one actually made me do an audible gasp. I looked like I saw a ghost lol.
I didn't see the twist coming at all, because I was enjoying it so much - I knew something felt OFF and I couldn't tell what it was, and they did a good job at making the scene feel 'tense but you don't know why' - so when the twist came it was a (super welcome) slap in the face!
Normally the color red is used to signify danger but since spiderman has red it was decided at least in the cartoon that green and purple would be the colors used to represent danger. That's why when Miles arrives at universe 42 the skies look a bit greenish
That also plays really nicely into how Spiderman's reputation. Red is often used to represent villainy while Green is universally seen as the mark of good, but in Spiderman's world the hero is the one wearing Red and his villains are often the ones in green, people _should_ be able to look at the actual context and realise that in such situations it is the red guy who is good, but thanks to people like J. Jonah J, many people aren't really judging by what's happening but instead judging by what it looks like. JJJ even helped fund the creation of the scorpion, a green villain who fights the red hero
The scene of miles running away from everyone and all the 2 dimensional villains popping up is an homage to the bonus "training stage" in the original Spider-man PS1 game. 👍
@@spiton Me too! I thought, "Oooohh! Wow! That's from that old Spider-Man game that I used to play." and I immediately wanted to point it out to my younger sister who was sitting next to me but I realized she would have no clue what I was talking about. After _spotting_ it during the scene, I was kind of unsure whether it really was a nod to the game, but you just confirmed it for me!
I wish "What's up danger?" Played as he launched off the train and blew through the Spiders. Can you imagine that beat he drops his plan and then 🎶Can't STOP ME NOW!🎶
There is another Easter egg that I notice at the end of the movie when Miles is tied to the punching bag, he is slowly moving his hand to escape while talking. This is a reference to the first movie when Peter tells Miles “lesson number one don’t look at the mouth look at the hands.” And Peter immediately escapes afterwards.
It's not an easter egg, but something that I found interesting while watching the movie was the orchestration - when the movie wanted to build tension before conflict, the music sped up and used sixteenth notes, whereas the music that built tension before resolution was written in quarter notes divided into triplets (12 notes per bar).
A great detail that a lot of people seem to overlook is that Gwen's portals started to have clippings of newspapers like hobie when she started using his watch
One note that I picked up from another viewing is when Gwen's father is trying to arrest Gwen, a "thin blue line" appears as his background, while Spider-Gwen's mask appears behind her, showing both of their allegiances at that moment. The "blue thin line" disappears briefly when George sees it's Gwen behind the mask but appears again when he starts reading Gwen her Miranda rights. Whether or not it was intentional, it's striking imagery.
Small little detail I noticed during the speed-train fight; when Miles glitches a second time after having his day pass removed, you can quickly see a glimpse of him wearing the costume he bought from Stan Lee in the first film.
This felt like a love letter to fans of the whole Spider-Man franchise. All the various comics, the video games, the movies, the cartoons, all of it! My only complaints are minor nitpicks: 1. disappointed Ben Reilly was reduced to dunking on the 90s Clone Saga, ignoring some legitimate growth the character has seen in recent books like his 25 issue series from 2017 and 2. That they went full "ends justify the means" villain with Miguel rather than being a brusk but likable renegade like he is in the books. The latter one is easier to digest through because of how the movie differentiates him from the "main" Spidey 2099. Overall, 9.99/10, loved this movie and cannot wait for Part 3. Between this and Playstation Spider-Man 2 this fall, this is a good year to be a Spidey fan (I choose to ignore the current ASM comic, don't @ me) Also: I can't help but find it amusing that a lot of what Miguel said about Miles not supposed to be a Spider-Man echoes a lot of the arguments people used against Miles when he was still newly introduced
Well said buddy & on board with all that. Like you said minor nitpicks but I think must fans would agree & still appreciate it all. Now give us the superior spider-man and in the inheritors in the sequel!
Completely agree about Ben Reilly. Scarlet Spider got done absolutely dirty in this movie lmao. On the contrary I think the way they did 2099/Miguel works perfectly for this movie. He is currently playing the role of an antagonist to Miles, but he (as well as the entire Spider Society) is convinced he is doing the right thing. I think this makes him the perfect amount of likeable and dislikeable, since his character design/execution is insane, yet his motives are a bit skewed. Can't wait to see how they tie everything back together in the next one.
I completely agree with the Ben Reilly thing. I was so excited to see my favorite Spider-Man, and am still happy he was included, but was so bummed that he was portrayed as such a joke.
As much as we can all say sony has done some VERY stupid things with the Spider-Man franchise, their hiring of JK Simmons to play Jonah and then keeping him around no matter what universe they’re in during that movie is just perfect. Simmons as Jonah is just casting perfection.
Amazing movie...this is what happens when you take the time to develop your characters and then put them in situations where the audience feels genuine fear, joy, and excitement. May be the best comic book movie of all time.
I've got a couple Easter eggs you might have missed or gotten wrong: Banksy is also called out in the first movie after the Collider explosion Spider webs are not always hexagons The book "how to listen so kids will talk..." is a real book I thought that miles' dad was named Jefferson Davis in his own universe, but is named jeff moralis in verse 42
Post Malone is who says the Banksy line in the first movie. In the first movie Miles' dad's name tag on his uniform says Davis, but in this same universe in the second movie his name tag now says Morales.
I love to see everyone loving this movie and being a kid again. Miles didn't receive a warm welcome at first, but now is being welcome by many. It's like even in the movie, he has to prove himself. Great movie, and MCU needs to take notes.
I am so happy that Josh Keaton came back to voice Spectacular in this. Spectacular Spider-Man also got a few other nods as well. After Miguel talks about the whole cop close to spiderman dying thing, we can see that Miles and Gwen first observes Spectacular holding Captain Stacy’s body. I got chills and cried a bit because that showed that his story did continue in someway after Season 2, and that Stacy’s death was something we would have seen eventually. Another nod was the giant web of the Peter’s losing Uncle Ben; Tobey, Andrew, comics Spidey and Spectacular all on the web. Amazing. Lastly, aside from the scene where he talks with miles, in the giant chase scene on the train, you can briefly see Spectacular holding Spider-Cat as miguel comes back to the train after being hit by miles. I’m hoping he joins Gwen’s team in the next movie.
Something to note was that Hobie was snagging little techno bits and bobs walking through Miguel's HQ which was played as him just being anti-establishment, but is how he built his own dimension watch goober.
Just a few notes. We see Hobie stealing components for the DTW, then ditching his own because he knows it can be tracked. Miguel's organization is similar to The Exiles. A team that existed outside of Reality that protected the branches of diverging Timelines, But wasn't as Men in Black about it. They had their own version of Miguel and one mission also included a bagel. Miguel injects something into his arm. This version didn't purge his reliance on the drug Rapture and is really high strung because of it. The Spider Go-Home machine looks like the caretaker drone from The Matrix. According to the action figure that's Cyborg Spider-Woman. That Octo-Spidey is Spider-Man 2211. His helmet can see through Time and Reality. In the end scenes, Miles is looking strait into Prowlers eyes. In the next movie I expect the line "Watch the hands, not the mouth". And finally the Banksy line is in the first movie.
I'm not sure if they are actual components for the DTW, but my take was that he was also disabling the door locks for miles to come back through later. (almost everything he stole was conveniently near a door if I recall right)
I will admit that like most, I didnt see the 42 because my focus was everywhere during that uniquely stressful scene. I did however pick up on the many context clues of Miles being in a different reality. For one, as mentioned that colors were a bit off. I didnt notice the 42, but (like Doug) did notice the change in his mothers eyes becauee they DID emphasize her eyes earlier in the movie, and i mean... come on.. his mom is so pretty. 😍 The big reveal to me was when he quickly throws on a purple and green jacket when confronted by his mother. I was like, "Oh prowler colors. I wonder if hes the prowler in this dimension. I will say once they established his uncle still around, i just assumed this was a universe that Aaron was the Prowler again, so the surprise of Miles being the big bad was surprising!
I love how in the near end Miles theme, the prowler’s theme, Spider punk guitar sound and Gwen’s drumming at the beginning of the movie were all put together to make that master piece🔥
Think the reason why the “plot twist” worked was because I wasn’t analyzing the film, I was experiencing it as my first time watching it. Sure I looked around for some references and details but it wasn’t my main focus. Also they threw a lot of universe numbers around that it wasn’t easy to keep track of if you weren’t paying attention
What a freakin' amazing movie! I didn't think it was possible, but it's better than the first one. Marvel really needs to adopt this format for their movies. I love most of the MCU, but these two put all of that to shame. Simply awesome.
How??!! It was a get movie but people are being too much prisoner of the moment. It wasn’t better Than the 1st the 1st was damn near perfection. And what can MCU add, from this movie they don’t already have. This movie pretty much using the same MCU concept, multiverses. It’s not better than Endgame, it wasn’t better than Civil War
I have a really good theory. Gwen Stacy says in the movie that Gwen Stacy always falls for Spider-man or something like that. But in every universe its Peter Parker that's behind the mask. So what if Gwen Stacy (Spider-Woman) ends up not dying because she got saved by Miles Morales, which will trigger a non-canon event.
Definitely, having 2 spider-persons falling in love in 2 different universes would be a non-canon event as it has never been done before. I am wondering if their universes merge because of this. I guess we'll find out in the third movie.
Just saw this movie a few hours ago. It was a BLAST! The first one was a blast and this one was the same blast or even better. I loved the references to the old spidermen! Spiderman 2099 and Scarlet Spiderman. WOW. Probably THE BEST SPIDERMAN MOVIES EVER!
This type of content gives me a whole new appreciation for the people who make these movies. The amount of work they put in and getting original voice actors from years ago to come back and voice those same characters is amazing!
There is also the scene with Pavitra Prabhakar where he is strugling to keep the bus from falling and sees his girlfriend's dad about to be crushed and he wants to save both but cannot. Another reference to how all Spider-men have to chose whom to save.
You mentioned about seeing 42 when Miles was in the home machine. Not all of us have eagle eyes 😁 totally missed it and were completely surprised with him being in the wrong universe 😅
This Spider-man movie kind of reminds me of Empire strikes back…not only by its cliffhanger sequence setting up the sequel but also by the emerging theme of father figure and who he chooses to become…the same way Luke discovering Darth Vader is his father and then facing the possibility of embracing evil, even facing his evil self in the cave and now Miles sees himself evil too at the end..I’m telling you there’s more references there to explore.
When miles goes to Earth-42, you can see that he is wearing a purple hoodie (when he talks to “his mom”) The Prowler also wears purple, so it’s a little nod to suggest that Miles may run into the prowler.
No way home was a pretty good and entertaining movie but I would not put that movie up there just because is not as "profound" as the others you mention.
Something I also noticed about The Spots origin is it kinda mirrors Mysterio’s origin in Far From Home in the way that they are both scientists become villains to seek revenge on a hero because of something insignificant that they did to them ruining their life in a previous installment of the franchise. (Mysterious being fired by Tony stark in Civil War, and seeking revenge in Far From Home)
The film was so incredible in every way the visual styles the dialogue ,and interactions between the characters, the performance the music ,the tone it took everything I loved about the first one, and pushed it further.
my favorite part about the movie is when Miguel is telling miles that he wasn't supposed to be Spiderman a distorted version of the Visions Brooklyn 1, 2, 3 whistling can be heard in the background, which is the same theme that was playing in the first movie when miles was just figuring out that he had powers, it gave me chills when I watched it in the theatre
Just watched the movie with my Family and friends. My 6 and 4 year old didn’t complain, try to leave and go to the restroom or ask me one question. This movie was the 1st uninterrupted movie I had in 6 years. The animation, storyline, action, music was so mind blowing. Time flew and truly want to watch it again. I can’t wait for the continuation. Ty for the clarification of thing I totally didn’t catch. But damn. Bravo 🎉🎉🎉 this movie was just amazing!!!
Absolutely loved this movie!!! Easily one of the best Spider-Man movies of all time. The creativity and ingenuity behind the visuals and animation is mind-blowing!! The story kept me hooked and just got more and more interesting. The ending kinda dragged on for a bit but left off on the perfect cliffhanger! Can’t wait for part 3!!
Something you didn't mention is the group that Gwen assembles also includes Spider-Byte. The way her and miles interacted and the hesitation she had when miles was escaping leads me to believe that they're maybe planning some sort of relationship between the two
lmao it’s funny how ppl have this theory cuz ain’t no way they would just throw Gwen and Miles’s relationship out of the window after 2 movies worth of buildup for a avatar girl who had 5 mins of screen time 💀
Something to note: The version of Tarantula we see in this movie sitting on Peter Parkedcar is from Ultimate Spider-Man's clone saga in the comics. The editor's note on screen says he's from Earth 1610A, meaning there are multiple related-but-different instances of Miles' home Ultimate universe 1610.
@@EddyTheLion it has an ending that being miles being in a impossible position and Gwen and others wanting to help him. It’s called building anticipation.
The punching bag also shows that yeah he’s gonna get out of that. No problem. The ending wasn’t about the fact that he’s tied up and trapped. But the reveal of evil miles being the prowler. David had a quick scene of our miles almost getting out with electricity sparking with his fingers. And that is a good cliffhanger I won’t lie. I had to let it resonate with me, because at the time I was upset. Only because I wanted more.
In the upside down miles and gwen scene, it’s very fascinating to note that Gwen actually uses energy to lean on Miles (rather than saving energy like a traditional lean on shoulder). Intentional or not, it’s probably the best romantic scene I’ve seen yet
@@iTROLLxTHExTROLLZ Being right side up leaning that way your body would want to do naturally (due to gravity), but since they are upside down her body would want to stay straight. So instead when she leans on him she has to use her muscles to do so, and stay in place.
@@odizzledots3665 oh ok. Makes sense. This movie is really growing on me as one of my favorite movies of all time. The story, the voice acting, the characters, the animation, and colors is all just very carefully crafted...just wished Stan Lee and Jack Kirby could have seen this masterpiece 😔😔
26:47 I don't know how many people noticed this but Spiderman India actually made a reference to this in the movie, in the scene where he's holding the bus with his girlfriend he looks back at the captain while the building is falling and says "I can do both" while tying his web down to rebar. This is also a tie in to his comedic mocking of western culture during the time of the first spiderman movie where the hero always wins and gets what he wants, that being both his girlfriend and the captain are saved. Also the jacket that Miles puts on while in earth 42 has a purple hood representing the prowler, while Mile's same jacket, in earth 1610, had a red hoodie representing spiderman.
I think there is an easter egg doesn't get much attention. When Miles was in another dimension he kept glitching out because it is not his universe. Back in the first movie the spider that bit Miles kept glitching out too. Hinting the later reveal in the sequel that it was from another dimension.
The spider cameo I was most happy to see was Spider-Man Unlimited. That cartoon was my childhood and now I feel like watching it again to see if it holds up!
I love how this movie gives time to development of the characters rather than just a rampant and rush and brainless action sequences. Aaand, I need to talk about Miguel! Fighting vulture he almost wins the fite with his venomous bite, but the helicopter light hit his sensible eyes (side effect of drug addiction). We see him injecting himself later in the movie. I think this 2099 could be the same 2099 as the original comics where Miguel just web-sling at night (the sensible eyes). But in the movie we see nueva york in the day light. They even reach the down and poor part of nueva york where the sun never reaches and where Miguel has almost all his adventures.
I don't think that Japanese Spiderman was in this movie. But I am really looking forward to his robot fighting Peni, whose suit bears lots of similarities to the humanoid mechas in Neon Genesis Evangelion, in the sequel.
it was not. most of the spiders he points out at the end are incorrect. Not sure why they decided to include pictures of the spiders from the comics if it makes you immediately see it is not the suit
Another very hard to catch in into the spider verse: when miles does his first “leap of faith” where he bounces off a flag pole, wires and then breaks the “goober.” There’s two numbers in between him which display 42 kinda showing that he is a mistake because he makes a mistake and trips in the first place
I think you missed one when Miles and Gwen were discussing how Spider-Man 2099 is "a vampire Spider-Man" and Miles quips something along the lines of "A vampire who's a good guy? I'd pay good money to see that!" Clearly it's MORBING TIME in their universe as well.
I would also like to point out how significant his mothers words are. “Never let them tell you, you don’t belong.” Mile’s entire arc through the second half of this film can be boiled down to this dialogue. Miguel quite literally telling Miles he does not belong as he is not “Spiderman” he is simply an “Anomaly”. Cool lil detail I noticed :)
Dunno if this was mentioned but you didn’t mention the part where spider punk was stealing the parts to make that watch and miles kept trying to put them back.. lol
I know sony catches flack but they managed to create possibly the best animated universe ever. Not only that but they did the same as marvel and made a character we care nothing about, the spot, and made him a GREAT character. This movie shot to the top of my list.
You got the Atari Green Goblin but missed Videoman (who appeared twice - once as a villain and once as a mutant hero who later joined Xavier’s school) from Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends (Earth 8107). Videoman was next to the Atari Green Goblin
Here, as in the original comics, The Spot is Doctor Johnathon Ohnn. It's easy to miss, but that makes him Johnny Ohnn: The Spot. Thank you Al Milgrom for a great villain (and pun)... you certainly left your mark.
In addition, the Spider Verse saga by Dan Slott was in inspired by a 2009 game Spider Man Shattered Dimension. Which in turn lead to 2014 Spider Verse comic storyline then lead to 2018 Into the Spider Verse. Shattered Dimension, such an underrated gem.
Im not sure if you guys caught it but in the movie when Gwen is telling Miles about Spider-Man 99, she says something like “A vampire Spider-Man”. And miles then says “A vampire that’s a good guy? I would pay good money to see that” a clear Morbius Easter egg and a joke towards it flopping.

Fun fact: the Japanese dub has a song by LiSA that's called REALiZE and it has an English segment Where LiSA says "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility"
loved this movie! i was honestly able to pick up on the fact he wasn’t in his universe bc i noticed his moms eyes went from brown to green and there was a red “sashimi” poster that turned green and said something different as well. Hopefully i’m not the only one who noticed that?
I don't know if it's the way they constructed the scene, but I did brush most of the "inconsistencies" aside. How did Miles get inside without Ben Reilly seeing him (or even Gwen being in his room)? Why did his mom say his hair was different when it's always like that? Defininitely wasn't tapped in, but I think that made the reveal better since I didn't expect it.
@@yourmother5810 because in 42, miles is prowler, his mother doesn’t know that, and miles from 1610 has different hair than prowler miles, which we see in their meeting.
It actually looked more like Ganke was playing Spider-Man 2, the HUD looked closer to the HUD on the gameplay that was released recently, it had the 4 abilities near the left side of the screen but offset towards the center a bit, and also the minimap was more rectangular than in the PS4 HUD, all seen in the SM2 gameplay, the biggest difference was I don't remember seeing the 4 abilities on the right side of the screen near the minimap, so maybe they're later upgrades, and also the player triangle icon on the minimap was bigger and yellow, where it was blue in Spider-Man PS4, it's not yellow in the SM2 gameplay either so it's more than likely a different build of SM2 than SM1
Speaking of Jason Schwartzman and Darjeeling LMTD, there's that scene where Spot sees the people on a motorcycle and says something like "four of you on there... that doesn't seem safe." And I think that could have been a reference to Darjeeling LMTD when the three brothers all rode on a motorcycle together.
One thing I really appreciated about the movie was how Miguel’s suit colours (red and blue, yeah I know most spider-men have that colour scheme, but Miguel’s are STRICTLY red and blue) represent his voice and character of authority, the same colours as a police car’s sirens juxtaposed to Mile’s suit colours of black and red (the black symbolizing rebellion and red symbolizing courage)
Amazing that almost all variations of Spider-Man in real life is here in this movie except Tom Holland's version. He was referenced but I'll think we will actually see him next year in Beyond the Spider-Verse.
Another clue that he was in the wrong universe is that the coat he wore in his room is the same coat Norman Osborn wore in No Way Home and also possibly a hint at his evil alter ego.
Exactly. I totally overlooked the part where Miles was in another Earth despite seeing "Earth-42" as the destination. & when he was talking to his mother, his coat colour was abit off. It's purple. It was either a foreshadow of the Miles of that Earth or that he doesn't belong there
Also a fun fact, the medieval spiderman is called Spider Knight, and was also a part of the spiderverse team in the 4 episode run in Ultimate Spiderman
Another easter egg that miles universe is different is that the jersey he is wearing is a Brooklyn Nets jersey in New York Knicks colors during the beginning of the movie

I watched the movie twice and the first time, I thought that Miles was from Earth-42 from all the information being thrown in the screens. The second time at the start of Miles intro, there was a small panel mentioning that it was Earth-1610.

You're an anomaly
My favorite Easter egg is when Hobie is going throw the portal after quitting, you can see him throwing down his watch.
So the one he gives Gwen later is the one he makes. Like he told Miles to do. “Make your own” Love it! 👏🏽 The portal even opens in his art style.
He also kept stealing tech from 2099 while he was there...likely the stuff he used to make his own :) He seized the means of production!
I wish X-Men and avengers would make movies with this art style. Its such a good view of comic book stories.

That's why when Miles arrives at universe 42 the skies look a bit greenish
also prowler imagery
That also plays really nicely into how Spiderman's reputation. Red is often used to represent villainy while Green is universally seen as the mark of good, but in Spiderman's world the hero is the one wearing Red and his villains are often the ones in green, people _should_ be able to look at the actual context and realise that in such situations it is the red guy who is good, but thanks to people like J. Jonah J, many people aren't really judging by what's happening but instead judging by what it looks like. JJJ even helped fund the creation of the scorpion, a green villain who fights the red hero
Kang
The scene of miles running away from everyone and all the 2 dimensional villains popping up is an homage to the bonus "training stage" in the original Spider-man PS1 game. 👍

There is another Easter egg that I notice at the end of the movie when Miles is tied to the punching bag, he is slowly moving his hand to escape while talking. It's not an easter egg, but something that I found interesting while watching the movie was the orchestration - when the movie wanted to build tension before conflict, the music sped up and used sixteenth notes, whereas the music that built tension before resolution was written in quarter notes divided into triplets (12 notes per bar).
That's so cool. How did you notice that?
@@childofthelivinggod. spider sense
Thats a really good observation wow
What a nerd, can you say that in English?

A great detail that a lot of people seem to overlook is that Gwen's portals started to have clippings of newspapers like hobie when she started using his watch
One note that I picked up from another viewing is when Gwen's father is trying to arrest Gwen, a "thin blue line" appears as his background, while Spider-Gwen's mask appears behind her, showing both of their allegiances at that moment. The "blue thin line" disappears briefly when George sees it's Gwen behind the mask but appears again when he starts reading Gwen her Miranda rights. Whether or not it was intentional, it's striking imagery.
Good pickup, I noticed that too and I’m sure it was 💯 on purpose. The art direction and call backs were incredible.
That scene really upset me where he's not thinkin and holds his gun up at his daughter. too similar to the reoccurring issues with police in America.

Yeah, because of Miguel's speech, Miles felt insecure like in the first film
Between this and Playstation Spider-Man 2 this fall, this is a good year to be a Spidey fan (I choose to ignore the current ASM comic, don't @ me)
Also: I can't help but find it amusing that a lot of what Miguel said about Miles not supposed to be a Spider-Man echoes a lot of the arguments people used against Miles when he was still newly introduced

Spider webs are not always hexagons
The book "how to listen so kids will talk..." is a real book
I thought that miles' dad was named Jefferson Davis in his own universe, but is named jeff moralis in verse 42

Didn’t receive a warm welcome?
First movie was insanely good, everybody liked
Wow I didn’t even piece this together I love that detail. Makes his character a ton more interesting
Hobbie making Gwen the watch is definitely a call back to earlier in the movie when he tells miles to just make his own
And the fact that Miles was playing with Gwen's earlier in the film
And he steals a bunch of equipment from the lab on the way to Miguel
Me: he’s stealing why? Later on:ooooohhhhh😮
@sewgeek designs it's Chekhov's gun. That means it's classy.
Banksy line is voiced by post malone, who wrote sunflower for the first movie
I'm not sure if they are actual components for the DTW, but my take was that he was also disabling the door locks for miles to come back through later. (almost everything he stole was conveniently near a door if I recall right)
Spiderman 2211 is what I was going to correct too
I will admit that like most, I didnt see the 42 because my focus was everywhere during that uniquely stressful scene.
The big reveal to me was when he quickly throws on a purple and green jacket when confronted by his mother. I was like, "Oh prowler colors. I wonder if hes the prowler in this dimension. I will say once they established his uncle still around, i just assumed this was a universe that Aaron was the Prowler again, so the surprise of Miles being the big bad was surprising!
I kept thinking of Jackie Robinson every time I saw 42
I love how in the near end Miles theme, the prowler’s theme, Spider punk guitar sound and Gwen’s drumming at the beginning of the movie were all put together to make that master piece🔥
Think the reason why the “plot twist” worked was because I wasn’t analyzing the film, I was experiencing it as my first time watching it. Sure I looked around for some references and details but it wasn’t my main focus. Also they threw a lot of universe numbers around that it wasn’t easy to keep track of if you weren’t paying attention
He forget he do this for a living lol
@@triadwarfare I hope you mean 3rd as in overall number of films. LOL I'm like wait. There's 3 parts. LOL
Gwen didn’t die because Peter did. That was the canon
The Spider-verse movies so far have shown nothing but love for their universe and its characters. It feels genuine, not a fan service cash grab.
I think you can actually count the Venom symbiote as the first organic web slinger. Especially when he was just Spidey's black suit.

The amount of work they put in and getting original voice actors from years ago to come back and voice those same characters is amazing!
“There is no playbook” I love that from MJ. How all the parents feel so lost and uncertain in this sequel, great parallel.

Something to note: The version of Tarantula we see in this movie sitting on Peter Parkedcar is from Ultimate Spider-Man's clone saga in the comics. The editor's note on screen says he's from Earth 1610A, meaning there are multiple related-but-different instances of Miles' home Ultimate universe 1610.
i wonder if that makes Miles 1610 as the real ultimate universe and the one that died in the comics was an offshoot.

The punching bag also shows that yeah he’s gonna get out of that. No problem. The ending wasn’t about the fact that he’s tied up and trapped. But the reveal of evil miles being the prowler.

I thought I was the only one to notice lol
16:09 hexagons are the BESTAGONS
I think there is an easter egg doesn't get much attention. When Miles was in another dimension he kept glitching out because it is not his universe. Back in the first movie the spider that bit Miles kept glitching out too. Hinting the later reveal in the sequel that it was from another dimension.
😮 you're right. That's brilliant writing.
I realized it after the fact, yeah. They thought of everything.
No fr I noticed this both times but just thought nothing of it but THEY PLANNED IT.
They even reach the down and poor part of nueva york where the sun never reaches and where Miguel has almost all his adventures.
sensitive. the word you're looking for is "sensitive"
In the scene where the spot shows miles the future for a split second you can see some the spider people dead the next miles movie gonna be crazy
The way they presented the different universes is how we thought that Multiverse of madness was going to present them.
32:29 waiiiit a minute
I’m surprise that nobody pointed out that Spider-Man 2099 was using some sort of serum like blade
The 90s show did it first though
Im not sure if you guys caught it but in the movie when Gwen is telling Miles about Spider-Man 99, she says something like “A vampire Spider-Man”. And miles then says “A vampire that’s a good guy? I would pay good money to see that” a clear Morbius Easter egg and a joke towards it flopping.
A real Breakdown like in the good ol days, good Marvel content with A LOT of Easter Eggs ! 🥳

Story 7 (Thrilling, not boring, just less(er) action and too long recap/parent talk)
Aesthetics 10 (Do I have to say some ? Ramped up everything that was possible !)
Impact/Impression 7 (I was totally flashed when outside cinema, no doubt, but I was really questioning why the spot got so less light and got op so fast plus Miles getting away so easy followed by hundreds of Spiders 😂)

24/30
Truly a wonderful piece of art, for me right on the step with the first one, even in its own realm 🥳
I’m thinking there are things, but overall I’m just hyped for part 3 next year, so total recommended !
I always thought that the 42 was meant to be for Hitchhikers quite to the galaxy and they even had some dolphin clicks at the start! IT HAS TO MEAN SOME5ING
Fun fact: the Japanese dub has a song by LiSA that's called REALiZE and it has an English segment
Where LiSA says "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility"
loved this movie! i was honestly able to pick up on the fact he wasn’t in his universe bc i noticed his moms eyes went from brown to green and there was a red “sashimi” poster that turned green and said something different as well. Hopefully i’m not the only one who noticed that?
I noticed her eyes were green too but didn't pick up until after the twist reveal!
@@tonegup I know that i was just saying i brushed aside the hints that this was a different earth when i first watched it
It actually looked more like Ganke was playing Spider-Man 2, the HUD looked closer to the HUD on the gameplay that was released recently, it had the 4 abilities near the left side of the screen but offset towards the center a bit, and also the minimap was more rectangular than in the PS4 HUD, all seen in the SM2 gameplay, the biggest difference was I don't remember seeing the 4 abilities on the right side of the screen near the minimap, so maybe they're later upgrades, and also the player triangle icon on the minimap was bigger and yellow, where it was blue in Spider-Man PS4, it's not yellow in the SM2 gameplay either so it's more than likely a different build of SM2 than SM1
thought i was the only one who noticed that 🔥
It insane to me how it all play out miles being the prowler in an alternate universe where his dad is already dead I cannot wait for part 3.
Aaaaaannnnddddd another stolen comment from heavy spoilers.
@@Yoda_Saint_Cloud stolen comments are Annoying
Hexagon shapes form naturally in bee hives. That start as circles and progress into hexagons
Its been strictly red and blue, literally the same costume since his 1st appearance in 1992
Amazing that almost all variations of Spider-Man in real life is here in this movie except Tom Holland's version. He was referenced but I'll think we will actually see him next year in Beyond the Spider-Verse.
Wasn’t he the video game one wasn’t that iron spider?
Another clue that he was in the wrong universe is that the coat he wore in his room is the same coat Norman Osborn wore in No Way Home and also possibly a hint at his evil alter ego.
It’s the same clothes just with the Prowler’s colors (green and purple). It’s just so happens that 80% of superhero villains have that color scheme.
Exactly. I totally overlooked the part where Miles was in another Earth despite seeing "Earth-42" as the destination.
& when he was talking to his mother, his coat colour was abit off. It's purple.
It was either a foreshadow of the Miles of that Earth or that he doesn't belong there
14:31 I can't unsee this help.
32:30 KILLED ME 😂 What an amazing video!
Also a fun fact, the medieval spiderman is called Spider Knight, and was also a part of the spiderverse team in the 4 episode run in Ultimate Spiderman
Phenomenal film, absolutely loved it 10/10
Another easter egg that miles universe is different is that the jersey he is wearing is a Brooklyn Nets jersey in New York Knicks colors during the beginning of the movie
19:00 The colors of the Knicks and Nets are also switched in this dimension. Maybe it’s the Brooklyn Knicks and New York Nets?
