I just found this channel last night. Sometimes, by making these videos, you help people more than you can ever imagine. I lost my mom last March and she was my go-to when it came to cooking. Getting through the holidays was tough, trying to cook and not being able to call my mom to ask questions. To you, this is just another day, another pot of black eyed peas. To me, this is a little bit of heaven. 🥰🥰🥰 Thank you for this channel ❤❤
Hello Gemma_626 please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your mom. Made these today. Awesome recipe, this will replace my recipe I have used since the 80’s. I used a Sweet&Smokey seasoning instead of Creole. Had a nice smoke flavor. Thanks
Great tip for when to add the salt based seasonings and soaking the beans even though you’re cooking in a slow cooker… your seasonings are just like my mother’s so I KNOW it’s good! I’m glad I saw this today so I can start soaking. Good video and I’m subscribing. 5:44
I’m making this now and the scent is just mouthwatering! We bought already cooked turkey legs so I’ll drop those in at the end. Can’t wait to have this so the some rice!
I just finished this recipe and it's really good. The best black eyed peas I've ever had, just not enough. I need to double the recipe. Now I just got to work on a good corn bread mix. I've got some good ideas off You Tube. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thank You!
This looks super yummy. I dont have any smoked turkey legs so will try making it with uncured bacon instead. I think that could work. Hoping I still have dried black eyed peas in my pantry so I can make this soon.
I'm a new subscriber, and I have been binge watching your recipes. You are an amazing cook and you definitely keep it simple and easy. I will be trying several of them!!!! Thank you for sharing!❤🎉
I usually add ham chunks with the peas; no way you can’t have black eyed peas without cornbread 🙂 and possibly mashed potatoes. The turkey legs sounds delicious(and controlled salt amount)Happy New Year everyone 🎊🎉🎉🎉
My Dad insisted on them for the New Year meal. I'm all country in most ways but can't stand them.lol I know it sound's silly but they taste like dirt to me. Please don't think I'm being mean. I love your channel and have made several of your recipes. They're always great! Just commenting.🙏♥️
I made these today for the New Year. Honestly the best black-eyed peas I have ever eaten.

Yes, buy the turkey that is already smoked.
I used smoked ham hocks that I bought from Walmart. They were already smoked in the package.
