      Cheers, Nick. His G425 Max is the OG 10k driver, mate. So he’s fine with that for a while 👍🏻

    Another great vid Rob. It worked well for you despite not swinging your best...which is exactly what this club exists.

    I game the LST g430. I play off 6 but I tried this, it’s also low spinning like the LST but much more forgiving. I know it sounds ridiculous but I’m thinking of changing. Am I stupid for doing this as you know they’re not cheap.

      @robpottergolf  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well it’s an expensive club, that’s for certain. But, I’d get hold of a 2nd hand G425 and put your shaft in it. That was a 10K driver before 10K was a marketable thing. Save you some pennies

    Well this exciting new venture of club review videos lasted long. You must be gutted that everyone you started You-tubing with like Liam H and James R have loads of subs and money rolling in. I’d would deffo be gutted 🤢

    • @robpottergolf
      @robpottergolf  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not at all mate. I chose to take an indefinite break from doing anything on TH-cam.
      Mix of family commitments, career commitments, wanting to concentrate on my own game without distractions, my own ill health, creative blocks which resulted in confidence issues - so much more than meets the eye.
      I never started TH-cam to earn money. I was actually blind to the fact you could, when the channel was first created 12 years ago. Literally had no clue.
      I have been monitised on TH-cam, but due to the break I lost that.
      The plan to return started 12 months ago through a chance conversation with Nick and myself and we started to formulate plans, ideas and visions of what we’d like to do together and with it, I decided to re-launch the channel.
      I have another review that’s currently in edit, and hopefully released in the coming week. But again, due commitments that Nick has had, that’s been outside his and my control, I’ve delayed the release of this particular review as we’ve been unable to film for 4 weeks or so.
      Plus there’s a course vlog in edit that was shot a few weeks ago in Ireland.
      So more to come and things will grow with time. And if it doesn’t then who cares? I’ve got a full time job that I love, and regardless I’ll have that as my main focus. I’ll continue to do it for as long as I enjoy it and Nick has time and desire to want to lend his knowledge in the reviews.

    • @Barnyg84
      @Barnyg84 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@robpottergolf woooah buddy, you really didn’t have to go that deep to satisfy my question. I was merely thinking out loud and curious. I’m a massive TH-cam consumer and it all fascinates me. I got the impression from what you said in the videos that this was going to be a new venture with regular uploads. Do you still speak to the folks that ended up growing big channels? Could you get them on some videos? I can’t help but think that the golf TH-cam community is not a very nice, friendly place. People just seem to step all over others to advance their own interests and leave smaller channels behind and just try collabong with bigger channels to get exposure. Smelly little world from the outside looking in

    • @robpottergolf
      @robpottergolf  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just wanna be transparent, pal. If you’re prepared to give time to watch something I post, then only fair I respond if you have an enquiry, a critique, or a compliment.
      It’s something I’ve always tried to do, even when I used to appear on Ricks channel.
      As I say, Nick has had some set backs and I’ve had a few things crop up beyond my control. So it’s been a catch 22 as what best to do. Release the review we shot a few weeks back with a gap before the next or just wait til I have more footage filmed and then I can drop them regular again?
      Weather has been garbage so couldn’t get out to film, and it’s hardly gonna show the courses in a good light at the moment. Although I do have one course vlog from Ireland that I’ll get out very soon.
      As for getting other, more established folk in the channel, it’s tough. It’s their full time job, so getting them on means it’s time they’re not creating content and there’s nothing in it for them.
      Yes, I was lucky getting Rick on the channel 5-6yrs ago but that was just a review of the season and frankly, it got very little views.
      And your observation about the TH-cam space is an interesting one. I keep my thoughts and ideas to myself regarding what I’m going to create now. I had a few experiences with some creators where I naively shared some thoughts of content I wanted to do, and next thing I know, they’d done it, or something strikingly similar with they’re own twist. It’s one of the reason I stopped creating anything for as long as I did. Kinda had enough of what I’d witnessed and asked myself the question of “Do I need this?”
      But I missed reviewing equipment, and well, Nick is the best in the business in my opinion and I’ve always wanted to film stuff with him. So we both had the same idea at the same time, like literally, so we’ve decided to go for it and see how folk take it.
      Honestly pal, I appreciate the feedback. And for you to give that feedback/observation shows I’m still slightly relevant, which is a good thing and makes me want to crack on with stuff.
      So thanks for watching and thanks for getting in touch.
