I was fitted for a Ping 430 driver, lasted a month, sold it, Ping shafts are rubbish and it was too spinny, spoke with others that used the same fitter and it was clear that selling clubs was the purpose. Went to a bone-fide fitter, questions, testing was so different, tried all the new drivers, got fit for an Ai Smoke 9 degree, set at 8, with a bespoke shaft, its long, straight and fabulous dispersion, as spins at 2300 which was as I wanted. So yes, fitting works, but do your research re who to use.
I’ve hear that about ping commissions as well 🤔 but, the club is very expensive, wouldn’t shock me if they still made a bit more on it. But on the OPs point, fitting is so important is finding a good fitter is massively helpful! James @ Spalding GC knows when to turn people away if they’re not swinging great, knows his stuff and is very data driven - which I like 😊
@@kev12558 Never touched the Kai'li White 6X that came with my 10K driver. I swapped over an old Ventus TR Black 5X and have hit many long and straight bombs over 5 rounds. So I'm done experimenting. I have noticed that I tee it up quite a bit higher than normal because the CG is low and back. Adapter is -1 flat and I open the face a bit at address.
@@TKGolfYT it was just so much easier to hit. The club is about 2" shorter but because I was hitting the middle more frequently than the Smoke or 10K the average distance of 10 shots was better for me with the Mini.
@@TKGolfYT Shorter shaft was the difference. I was able to loft it down to 9.5* and was still hitting it straight. The flight was a little low as I wasn't hitting up on it like a driver. I'm still experimenting with the sleeve to find the perfect setup but this will be my driver for now.
Yeah, I can understand that! I was recording the screen from Flightscope, but that failed. It was very difficult to see the ball during edit. Sorry about that! There are tracers on Fridays video 💪🏻💪🏻
I think everyone should get fitted - the knowledge and understanding you get is so good! But also, drivers these days have a lot of adjustability, so it can always be put into different settings as your swing changes/improves 😊 The Ping G430 Max 10k is the most forgiving driver ever made - great for high handicaps… and apparently, some tour pros are using it as well 😊
You can adopt bad habits trying to improve with clubs that don't fit. It's also bad to have too many sets of clubs because they will throw off your timing. So get a set that fits you well and commit to growing your game with them.
@garylucas7050 I have a good understanding of the game. I've been playing casually off and on for 10 years with a few years break here and there. I struggle with a slice and just recently started realizing the reasons behind it as im trying to play on a regular basis now. Wasn't sure if a fitting would help with something like this. My contact is good, but I hit out the toe sometimes or leave the face open. Using a Taylormade m2, and I was debating if I should try a new driver to see if it helps with my slice. I know it won't magically make it go away, but can a fitted driver help reduce it?
@@illskillz05 if your happy with your swing No problem , I’ve been fitted before playing off a 10 handicap but wasn’t happy with my certain parts of my swing as I tinker far too much …so basically was fitted then changed my swing which included stance , alignment take away which got me hitting the ball better and more consistent ..basically what I would say is club fitting would benefit anybody as long as you have grasped the basics of the game , lessons obvious for this and you have a swing which your happy with and that can be fitted
It was an option that was edited out of the video - it would have been a very long video if I kept anything in - but basically, I preferred the open face at address of the 10.5 head set to 9.5 😊 numbers wise we’re basically the same 😊 Thanks for watching the video, I know it was a lengthy one! I also had the g425 driver and have just upgraded to the ai smoke as I was more consistent with it and I couldn’t take to the g430 10k at all which surprised me with having the g425 🏌🏼♂️👍🏼

My local shop says Ping has the smallest commission. I believe them considering how tightly Ping controls prices.

I own more than a few premium shafts. I will say the ping black shaft works great w the 10k
Just got the Ping, wondering if my Evenflow 5.5 handcrafted shaft will help the spin & distance?

Have some lessons first get to grips with the basics and an understanding of the game before you even contemplate having a fitting
