  • In this video we find the best island campsites on Lower Saranac Lake in the Adirondacks. This is a full day of canoeing Lower Saranac and exploring the Saranac Lake Island Public Campground. These sites are canoe/ boat access only and require a reservation. These are some of the best campsites I have ever seen.

Bluff Island is not a listed campsite

How did you like the absence of music in this video? Wanted to shake things up by just leaving it natural. Hope you enjoy!

Love the how one can feel the stillness of the lake - the music was not missed.

I camped on Green Island a bit more than a month after you shot this video and your videos truly represent the silence and beauty that this lake offers. Loved it so much that I'm going back in 2 weeks for another camping trip. Unfortunately I'll be alone but it'll be worth it to experience the tranquility and beauty again!

49 years after going 2Saranac lake regularly as a kid I am wondering what it even looked like.
..sitting in a cabin Lake Wister in Oklahoma watching Saranac campsites video from a skinny little hanheld television.
At that age we used 2watch th movie Oklahoma!
Little did i know i would be livingin Oklahoma! ...watching 49 years later Saranac lake videos.

@@DanielleRootes but th even closer 2home part is at the end u mention "cold water!"
      I had 2do a double take.
I was just telling a friend from New York (Bobby Burns) how HOT thwater was here so, I was just on my way out thdoor 2go down to thlake measure its tempwrature & u suddenly said "COLD water."
Are u an alien time traveler???
So anyway I lived in Colonie New York.
Sun isnt thsame as it used2 be. Its warming Atlantic to over 100° and our lakes & creeks are so hot here its like standing beside a big coffee cup thwater is HOT.
Wow I didnt remember there being pine trees Saranac i vaguely always recalled being nex2 a bridge tho.
I think is same bridge this video.
So now i know it was actually a real bridge that existed lol.
Lake Wister has th same looking pine treez.

I'm sitting here in Oregon waiting patiently for a full canoe season to start. It's started in some areas, but where I actually want to go is at 6,000 feet and still snowed in. Very soon. Maybe a month left. Until then, I'll live vicariously through you.
And what a lovely view while someone is relieving themselves.
