We just bought a Prologue. So far, it’s been phenomenal. Solid. Beautiful ride on the highway. Plenty of power with one motor. Sure, it’s a Honda and simplistic. We got ours with no money down and over $14,000 incentives here in Texas. Yes, true.
@@MinnesotaSage0365 agree I just bought mine yesterday and am so impressed it’s an awesome vehicle speed ,handling just amazing.. Quick charge in 20 minutes too. Good luck with yours!!
Watched the video and still waiting to hear why it outshines the Model Y. You mentioned that multiple (non tesla) charges weren't working, well that in itself is a reason to go Tesla if for no other reason than the charging infrastructure.
It achieves lower range using larger battery and less powerful motor, wile costing more. Does that count as "outshining"? If not, you can add using an obsolete CCS connector and taking charge at a lower rate. Honda must be proud by this rebadge of a GM vehicle.
Well... Bigger more comfortable for passengers. Has a driver display + Infotainment screen Has a Head Up Display (HUD) Supports Apple CarPlay Good conservative looks. Nice wheels Resonable acceleration and range and charging options. No full autopilot software (Yes, that's a plus) Good Bose audio system. Honda service center support.
If this thing had Super-Cruise that actually works, this car would be on the top of the list. Also nice to see it has mechanical door release and power switch that you do not need to constantly plug into the charger.
I live in California the federal tax rebate program is not a big deal. Most Honda dealers will offer that same credit if you finance or lease the car through Honda financial services. For qualified buyers. I picked up the prologue touring trim model this past Monday.
My take: if your a fan of Honda this is an adequate car and you will have no trouble living with it. if your not a Honda fan it will not drag you over from your brand of choice. I like Honda's [and it would be my 3rd, assuming you count Acura as a Honda {and I would}, but my wife who hates Honda's will not give this car the time of day.
Could be a bit small, but I like the overall look of the back as well as the front, I might be able to live with the smaller window, but not the EV aspect, on so very many levels.
I like to see how to plan a road trip in Honda Prologue. I own Tesla and it’s really simple to plan a trip. Just set destination and Tesla tells you where to stop for a charging and for how long. Most charging takes 20-25 minutes after 2.5 hours driving.
The built in google operating system can do all that. The google maps are inter grated with the car. So it can give you all the information to route plan a trip. She is stuck in her CarPlay world
Definitely the best SUV design by Honda we have seen, even though it has nothing that stands out. The color makes this one pop nicely. The interior looks to have some high qualities materials, but the design is meh. I can’t believe they still used the glue on style IPad for the infotainment on a modern vehicle. People in California will like this.
Solid entry by Honda & Chevy. Would like to have heard about the suspension and ride comparison to Modely Y. How do the controls and feel (intelligence) compare to Tesla's? Waiting for the Honda suspension and design as they have always been tops. What are the repair costs for dents and fender benders? EV repairs have skyrocketed and insurance is stupidly expensive. Would like to see Honda offer their own insurance so we can have peace of mind and wallet (take the insurance middle man out) Need to see the solid state battery pack before I jump into any EV. Sorry, infrastructure is going to take 10 years to build out.
No one has FSD. Not even close. Very few are actually using Tesla FSD(which is a false claim anyway). That said, I used Honda assisted driving all the time when I had my last CRV, not as good as Tesla but effective for daily driving regardless. I would say for 90% of the drivers it’s sufficient. However I suspect the emergency maneuvering is not as good as Tesla.
I haven't heard anyone that is charging their Honda on the Tesla chargers? I've even gone to the Prologue site and it's not happening there. Also, like others have said....it's a GM, not a Honda. Takes me back to the Honda Isuzu days.
I thought by the title you were actually going to compare it to the Model Y. Didn't really say specifically why it outshines the Tesla. Unless I missed it somehow.
Great looking vehicle, I love the headlight styling, these look so much better than today's 'squinty-eyed' headlights. I would be loving this car overall, if it wasn't 'EV'.
OMGoodness, A Tesla beater? No way! Not even close! I love Honda, but this is not their product, it's Gm's and say what you may, it sure looks like a cheap interior. BTW....I'm seeing Toyota leases for their EV and it's only $159 a month with no money down, how can this vehicle even compete with the ridiculous price?
As always, Lauren, another great review! I'm not onboard with EV's and probably won't be for some time; basing a technology on an infrastructure that isn't there is just foolish. What do I mean by that? Adding big demand onto the electrical grid when there are no serious efforts in place to strengthen it makes no sense. When was the last time a new power plant was built in this country? "Renewables" you say? Too spotty, too unreliable, too inconsistent and again, not enough to meet the demand. In addition, until technology can be brought to bear that significantly reduces recharge times and increases range, EV's will never be practical for ALL uses. All of that said, I do like the design, very clean and sleek. Honda always does a good job in that department.
Part of the overall agenda imv is to corner us into reliance on 'you know what' source, I can't say it without being censored. They don't even talk about it but they don't happen, most of us are way too dumb to see it coming. Hegelian Dialectic. One look at California's issues says a lot...and what will a million ev's do for the existing grid lol..
Good report. Other than aesthetics, it's a Chevy. IMO the Chevy looks better. GM has a larger dealer network. Servicing this EV ......Chevy dealers are more inclined to provide better service (as its a GM product). Generally like Hondas. But I will always see this Prelude as a modern day "Isuzu' Passport. I'd be impressed if Honda actually developed a proprietary EV platform.
Its built in Mexico, not the US. But it should get the tax credit, at least at some point. GM had to change their source for electrolytes and seperators in the battery to qualify.
This is reincarnated Blazer , there is not much Honda about it. Its built on GM platform with Honda software. And to top it Honda and GM terminated the relationship as well .So like Honda Clarity with 4 years of production this is also doomed to begin with.
I can't believe that time was spent in this review talking about the quiet interior that might cause car sickness, but no mention of the lack of spare tire that's going to strand you on the side of the road. There isn't even a PLACE to put one if you wanted to. I will never buy any car that doesn't have a spare and I don't understand why there isn't a huge uproar about this becoming so common. No, run flats, fill kits and road side assistance are not an acceptable alternatives.
I wonder who's to blame? Manufacturers that convince customers they need SUVs (read: big cars, sorry, I mean light trucks). Costumers who complain about the cost of living, except when it's time to buy a car. Or both...
