    Fantastic work. I hope Netflix's Love, Death, & Robots series will include a story set in Stålenhag's world in the next season.

    Criminally underrated

    I was quickly captivated; I was drawn in by the question, "What is going on here?" I ended up with the sense that the pair of flying units were a 'quick response team', responding to an incident. This could easily be the opening sequence and/or the inciting incident for a larger story. What caused the incident? Is it truly under control? What will a follow-up investigative team find? How does this incident relate to the other machines we see across the landscape as these quick-response units fly in? Great short, and could be a great hook for a full-length work. Well done.

      I think you nailed it completely! That was the thought and the main story that we thought of when making this short I would say! Thanks for the great comment!

    super cool, no doubt about it, but those flying machines don't look aerodynamically quite sound; they look backwards would have a shyt ton of drag. other than that, pas mal, pas mal tovarich. even the music is decent.
    simon stålenhag is the gift that just keeps giving; that series "tales from the loop" (2020) should have inspired SOMEONE to expand on it even further.

    What's the song?

    • @DavidSohr
      @DavidSohr  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a swedish traditional song originally called "Nu grönskar det". Originally in major, now in minor and with a orchestral touch composed by Ludwig Sandström a musician from sweden! (my brother in law actually)

  • @FarSeeker8

    Well done! The music goes perfectly with the video, and the feel of everything fits.
    Being the humorous guy I am, I would have had one of those tentacles wave at the flying modules after they moved off.

    Too CGI-looking, no athmosphere; plus, the camera movements and the general rythm are not in the spirit of Stålenhag IMHO

    Very good, very nice, and the choice of music and adaptation was amazing. On thing though, if you wanted to recreate the mood and wonder that we feel when watching his pictures, I believe that humans doing human things is an important part of that. I know it's really hard and takes a lot of time to make humans in cgi so I understand perfectly well that you didn't, just saying. Other than that it was perfect.

    • @DavidSohr
      @DavidSohr  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much for the feedback! You are very right about humans. As students we surely didnt have the skill to pull something like that off, and that is exactly why we chose this approach! Even the big companies out there stills truggles to make digital humans. It is starting to look really really good now with 3D and a mix of deep fakes and AI. So the future is quite exciting - and scary! :D
