Thanks, Ralf, for the demo videos of the RP1000. It is because of your videos that I purchased one yesterday...it's great! I'm still learning, but it's very easy to figure out most things without the manual. I play in a Disco / Variety / Wedding band and this has everything I could possibly need....and still allows me to use my amps tone if I want to (a Rivera Fandango). Thanks again!
Thank you very much for video, sir. It is greatly helpful for anyone, who seeks help in this genre. And please, don't mind people, that are sad or hateful, because those are the one ,that say stupid comments. Those, who look for help, are thanking you and enjoying this.
Wow....finally somebody gets it!!! I spend a lot of money on my tube amps and i want to preserver that tone not take it over. This looks like a great solution which allows me to enhance my tone not obliterate it. Thank you for a very informative demo of a very impressive product. Well Done!!!
Ok Ralf, I brought this pedal home today and I've been messing around with it all day. The sounds that this pedal creates are incredible. I even emulated the EJ sound minus his fingers skills. Thank you for your videos and keep up the great work that you do for DigiTech. Manny
appreciate the info. I've looked well over 100 pedals but keep coming back to this one. I write music so this will be an invaluable item added to my musical collection. Thanx great videos
Hey Bigsky I commented earlier on your post... This RP1000 is definitely the pedal for you. You can completely bypass the internal modeling and just mix the digital FX with your amp's analog signal. Trust me dude, this is the one you want.
It doesn't matter if he's gay or not, how long his hair is, etc. It's his music and instructional videos what matter. That's the point of it all. So good job, keep it coming.
Having no MIDI outputs/inputs is not a deal breaker. The expression pedal can control many of the internal parameters and all the internal settings can be edited using USB and X-edit software. This pedal offers FAR MORE than other units that have the MIDI inputs/outputs. I've had mine for three months and love it.
Fantastic review! You have given more useful info than the personnel I spoke to at Digitech. I have the RP1000 and a Blackstar HT-100. I'm looking to preserve the tone from the amp. I'm not entirely familiar with the "pre/post amp" placement of effects. Can you offer a little more insight into how/why to do this? Thank you!
Hi, Ralf. I have the manual that came with the unit. I just meant I did not have to refer to it for many things....the RP1000 is just that easy. :-) You're welcome.
Great video! Keep on posting! I own a Boss gt-8 and i could never get the sound i want that is similar to these ones you shown. And the biggest problem is when i connect other stomp boxes! Can you do any Boss products video! Thx a lot and you rock!
@TheHawkdaddy Also this will also works great by plugging it directly into your amp. Just set your amp to a clean setting and it will still sound great. In my opinion, I like using it plugged directly into the amp using a clean setting because I can use the bass, mid, and treble, on the amp to get just the right sound that I want.
Thank you for your reply. Does the RP1000 have selectable output modes to use the preamps with the FX Loop of an amp, or direct to the PA (therefore with the Speakers simulator enabled)?
Dear, Ralf. I was going between this and the Rp500. One of the deciding factors are the bottom row of buttons that change presets by default. I read in a guitar world magazine review that this row of buttons (1-5) can also be assigned to different (effect) parameters as well. Is this true? I read somewhere on the internet that this is not the case. If I could get an answer that would be great. Thank You, Ralf for your great and informative videos. the best on the internet!!
That brings me to the second question. What preset (from the factory presets) would you use when playing acoustic guitar (A real acoustic not a model) through the RP going into the PA? I normally need to soundschape my acoustic guitar a little before going straight into the PA, otherwise it doesnt sound nice.
Ralf, You sold me. I now want to get this pedal. One question... Can I tweak the settings to get the Eric Johnson sound and save it to one of the channels?
Is it possible to fully control The gsp1101 with the rp1000 ?...cause I could get a good deal on both items.....since pedal configuration seems quite the same I tought I could use the rp1000 instead of the Control 2...thanx for the expert support
Hi, Q1: On the back of the unit there r 2 (L/R) ¼ conn. output to the amps and 2 XLR (L/R) outputs to go direct into the PA. Are all the outputs live at all times or are the XLRs muted when the ¼ jacks are plugged in? The reason I want to know is that when playing gigs I am thinking of routing the signal to the PA when using my acoustic gtr, and go through my amp when playing electric . My acoustic gtr doesnt sound nice through my amp (A Marshall 2553 Silver Jubilee 50 W head & Cab) .
hello ty for posting this clip it definately helped me decide to buy this product. The only thing I can't work out is how to record into protools via usb. If you have any knowledge in this area it would be greatly appreciated.
ralf, thanks for posting this b/c it's what swayed me to buy the rp 1000. I LOVE IT! anyway i was wondering if i could pick your brain. i have the rp running just the way you do and i use the amp/cabinet bypass more than i dont. i read the manual about the chain, pre/post and not sure why the GATE doesnt work in that config? i have the amp loop on and amp/cab bypass on. the chorus only works post and sounds like #hit!. i read the manual and it says nothing about this. can you shed light? thx
I have always seemed to find one Achilles heel to a lot of multi effect units. They always seem to have large discrepencies in volume levels while switching in between different settings. Is that true as well for the rp 1000? Thanks
finally ,just one more question ralfjung..i would like to get an infinite sustain... can i get it with the rp1000...something like With Or Without You by u2???? sorry about my tapping hehe .... cheers
Ehm no! I'm asking a different thing: how can you make the device "understand" whether the preamps are being used in an FX Loop of an amp, or direct to a PA system (with speaker simulation)?
Hey ralfjung im thinking about getting this but i want to be clear on some things like if i have a distortion box in the effects loop of the rp can i chose to put the things in that loop before or after the preamp like the distortion? thank you
hi ralfjoung, i have one problem, i have the rp1000 and when i play the whammy i always turn the wha on..and i don't want to activate the wha...i want just the whammy...i know that if you press the toe strong you will activate the wha but i don't really want it...please help me.. cheers...from mexico city
i have a crate 18 watt tube amp and a BC Rich warlock bronze series and i was considering upgrading my amp to a peavey valveking 112 combo. I like to have a clear distortion, and a more bassy sound. what fx pedal and amp would you recommend?
4:53 haha "i could do that for days" awesome ummm i was wondering what would be the best pedal to get for playing stuff from metal/death metal to stuff that iron maiden plays?
hey ralfjung is this unit worth buying is this a keeper or should I go with a different set up I run a amo switcher for a 1996 egnater tol 100 for my cleans and a peavey 1993 5150 for my overdrives my pedal chain is a dunlop cry baby, boss dd7 for my delays, digitech whammy and a boss reverb a 5150 flanger but I wwonder if this unit will cover all of this ground without compromising the tone answer please thanks Dave
Hi Ralf! I tested the RP1000 today to know what they sounded like. I was aiming to buy the 500 but since i have some effects i maybe need the RP1000. Can i do the same with the 500 or do i need the 1000 to do the thing you showed in the beginning (with the loop and preamp inputs)?
@ralfjung I don't know if I'm wording this question right, but maybe you could help me out? I own an rp1000 and I want to incorporate pedals with the stomp box loop, but I want to integrate them into the presets on the rp1000 board so that if I wanted 3 pedals to be active, all I would have to do is hit preset 1 on my rp1000 and those pedals plugged into the stomp loop would turn on automatically rather than me manually tapping each pedal to get them all on. Do you know how to do this? Thanks!
LOL, Im not offended at all. I truely understand what you ment. Changing the subject.. Can you make a video showing us how to use the software with the RP1000. Keep up the good work and take care.
yo i saw that ur an endorser of digitech lol i commented on that rp-90 video before but just wondering since black friday is coming up for guitarcenter should i get the rp-1000/500 or the rp-355?
I Want This So Bad! I Have The Digitech RP 250, And It Has Served Me Well Over The Years, But I Need Something That Gives Me The Chance To Mix And Match My Tones Together And My Pedal Is A Bit Dodgy So I Want This, How Much Will I Be Looking At To Buy One Of These?
Yes you can....there is a pitchmachine in it with which you can detune in one cent increments..100 cents equal a semitone. If you detune lets say 5-10 cents it sound 12-string-ish
@slaytallimaiden iv tried most of these type of units and the rp1000 and the boss stuff sounds the best when playing live, the line 6 gear sound best to me when plugged into a computer, i had a hd 500 and just couldn't get a good live tone out of it.
These are pretty cool if you have a good sounding amp with fx loop to patch it in and/or cool analog pedals you'd want to patch in. However, I'm pretty sure a modeled amp running a real bigmuff or other analog distortion/fuzz into it would sound pretty much like ass. Using a good amp with a modeled distortion into it could also sound like ass. So I figure, if you use a good amp and good pedals, and just use this for delay/reverb/modulation, it probably sounds pretty good that way. But maybe it isn't $300 USD good. I'd wait for a price drop or explore used or open box from reputable sellers.
I really wish Digitech would change the 1980's looking display on their multi effects pedals. It takes all that awesome technology and makes it look so low tech.
@MonkeyRiffs Absolutely, The RP1000 Is Completely Awesome,I have it and the Digitech Time Bender and Together they are Absolutely Brilliant,But it Does take some time to figure out a Good Bit,& Work with what Kind if Sound you want,But it's all Doable
Hi!! I'm kind of an intermidiate player, and I want a good upgrade.. I can get these pedal, tghe rp 1000, or the rp500, roughly at the same price..., but, in general, what of them should I buy?

I've listened to well over 100 pedals and I keep coming back to this one. The effects and versatility are pretty good for what I'm able to spend.
Ok Ralf, I brought this pedal home today and I've been messing around with it all day. The sounds that this pedal creates are incredible. I even emulated the EJ sound minus his fingers skills. Thank you for your videos and keep up the great work that you do for DigiTech.
Manny
Hey man don't worry about it. It was a great review! glad that you're doing the demo of these new Digitech products. You're quite talented.
danke ralf, i think your demos of the rp 500 and 1000 are great and you you play good aswell!
appreciate the info. I've looked well over 100 pedals but keep coming back to this one. I write music so this will be an invaluable item added to my musical collection. Thanx great videos
Finalmente un video su questa pedaliera, grazie.
Thanks you very much for the information, Mr. jung. I believe this is definately the pedal for me!!

@ralfjung This 3 year old video demonstrates what a good effects box RP1000 actually is.Great Demo ralfjung! Happy New Year London Olympics 2012!
thank you so much for the advise I hope that you have a nice day
haha nach dem video von der sesesion messe hab ich ne ganz neue meinung von dir!
du bist awesome xD!
Hi Ralf...Will this switching system switch the channels on my amp too?...Thanks...

@TheHawkdaddy This will work on any amp using the 4 cable system if your amp has an effects in and out.
Hi, Ralf. I have the manual that came with the unit. I just meant I did not have to refer to it for many things....the RP1000 is just that easy. :-)
You're welcome.
The coolest thing about the RP1000 is the Automatic Guitar Switching Mode as demonstrated at 1:58 in the video. It's lightning fast...
Very cool. Great demo.. Thank you so much.. Rock on.. :-)
I like your presentation and discirptive explainations but over all how does this effect unit differ from say the Boss gt10,using the 4 cable method!
I didn't mean to go on a rant. Their stuff still rocks. lol
Great video I like it Thanks!

I have a gnx4 now and I absolutely love it. Would it be foolish to sell it and get a 1000?
@sssteve72 yeah, I have 6 guitars and the rp1000 makes it easy to switch between them during shows.

Hi are you using the 4 cable method on this vid? cuz on 6:20 your missing 1 cable .....
thanks

What type of guitar are you playing in the beginning of this video? (The orange one)
I'm using a behringer xenyx 502 5 input 2 bus mixer pre amp. How do I hook up this with my pevey amp and RP1000? Book is confusing.
Thank you
hey is there a way to change the expression pedal effect from a wah to a whammy?
Ehm no! I'm asking a different thing: how can you make the device "understand" whether the preamps are being used in an FX Loop of an amp, or direct to a PA system (with speaker simulation)?

Hi guys...I wander how close is it from true bypass when U use the pboard with amp & cab bypassed !
ah it's so simple then. When playing thru an amp, does it disable the Speakers sim in all patches?
hi ralfjoung, i have one problem, i have the rp1000 and when i play the whammy i always turn the wha on..and i don't want to activate the wha...i want just the whammy...i know that if you press the toe strong you will activate the wha but i don't really want it...please help me..
cheers...from mexico city
Does this pedal have a bass guitar setting and or a drum effect?
Ic thanks for replaying does the 500 have this option? thanks again
Would this be a good buy if you only have a small marshall 10 watt amp?
i have a crate 18 watt tube amp and a BC Rich warlock bronze series and i was considering upgrading my amp to a peavey valveking 112 combo. I like to have a clear distortion, and a more bassy sound. what fx pedal and amp would you recommend?
is it possible to simulate a humbucker with a single coil and to simulate a single coil with a humbucker? I think it was the case with the RP70.
4:53 haha "i could do that for days" awesome ummm i was wondering what would be the best pedal to get for playing stuff from metal/death metal to stuff that iron maiden plays?
are you a pro reviewer? if not you should be! great demo
Mr. Ralfjung, can you do the send and return with the Digitech RP355?
hey ralfjung is this unit worth buying is this a keeper or should I go with a different set up I run a amo switcher for a 1996 egnater tol 100 for my cleans and a peavey 1993 5150 for my overdrives my pedal chain is a dunlop cry baby, boss dd7 for my delays, digitech whammy and a boss reverb a 5150 flanger but I wwonder if this unit will cover all of this ground without compromising the tone answer please thanks Dave

@ralfjung Can you do a review on the Deltalab DGFX 1 multi effects pedal??
I also forgot is will this unit let you run two amps or not
@ralfjung I don't know if I'm wording this question right, but maybe you could help me out? one question on the top presets it says 6 7 8 9 and 10 can u have them as presets like 1 2 3 4 and 5?
I like to know if I can plug the rp 1000 in the Digitech JamMan, hope that can you help with some advise, thank you.
@ralfjung hey can u attach the rp1000 straight into the computer and record anything from guitar to keyboards to a mic??? please help thanks =)
i have a practice amp i got with my epiphone special II. can this pedal be used with it?
RP 1000 VS GNX4....

yo i saw that ur an endorser of digitech lol i commented on that rp-90 video before but just wondering since black friday is coming up for guitarcenter should i get the rp-1000/500 or the rp-355?
i want the real tone.. not digitized... i wonder if rp1000 can do that.. i have a fender blues deluxe.. i wonder it this will sound good on it? thanks
@ralfjung Thanks for replying. Your right I am in parallel mode!! I have a switch to change it to serial. Thanks!
I have a fender 25r, could I use this pedal?
The X Edit with the RP1000. By the way, thanks for your responses.
Does this one have drum patterns?
How do you set up the pedal for base guitar?
5:31 dan electro guitar?
Hi...can we simulate 12 strings?????
Yes you can....there is a pitchmachine in it with which you can detune in one cent increments..100 cents equal a semitone. If you detune lets say 5-10 cents it sound 12-string-ish
@@ralfjung thank you..regards from Mexico
does the rp1000 run in true stereo?
Hi, can this control my guitar amps channel?
Is that amp you're using made by Frudua?

@MonkeyRiffs Absolutely, The RP1000 Is Completely Awesome,I have it and the Digitech Time Bender and Together they are Absolutely Brilliant,But it Does take some time to figure out a Good Bit,& Work with what Kind if Sound you want,But it's all Doable
I can see how hard it is to keep your mouth closed in the wah part =D
RP500, 1000 and GSP1101 ftw!
hello, does anyone know if it is true stereo outputs> thanks
thank you very much
Forget this....no midi outpu on rp1000...sorry !!
Hi!! I'm kind of an intermidiate player, and I want a good upgrade.. I can get these pedal, tghe rp 1000, or the rp500, roughly at the same price..., but, in general, what of them should I buy?

Are you related to Carl Gustav Jung?
LOL @ 4:54
"I could do that for days!"
Thanx very much
