So yes most of the "Filler" episodes this Season introduced a member of the Black Thorn. obviously not the original plan this is a Retcon done right as it uses all the assets infront of us and not pulling random stuff out of thin air * cough* Jasmine *cough*. Best option without strong arming Illyria or Senior Partners into a rushed Boss Fight.
Power Play was a stunning penultimate episode. Where all the strands of the series are coming together for the ultimate finale. Here the situation is reaching boiling point with Wesley still researching for answers as only he can do, and making what he thinks is an incredible treacherous discovery. Of course a stunning reveal when we realise it was Angel who sent the message to Wesley about the Circle of The Black Thorn, which of course he was only able to do as Cordelia kissed him passing on the powers that Doyle had given to her. The scene with the evil Seantor where she wants W&H to manufacture her opponent as a paedophile are most disturbing, Gunn cannot believe that Angel agrees to this, something seems very off with Angel's attitude. When Drogyn appears it seems he has some answers for Illyria and Spike, but this seems to only add to the mystery. Funny when Gunn says to Drogyn, you're the liar Aragorn'. Great scene at the office door when Wesley confronts him about 'small stuff' and says would that include Fred. Light relief when Gunn and Spike deliver Lindsay chained up. When Drogyn and Illyria re playing Crash Bandicoot it is achingly funny, when she says this game is pointless, but I am compelled to play on. Our moment of comedy is ruined by Hamilton who bursts in and throws Illyria around like a rag doll, but has he killed her? And where now is Drogyn? Lindsay of course planting more seeds of doubt in everyone's mind about Angel, and what he has become revealing Angel's intention to join The Circle Of The Black Thorn. When Angel jumps through the fire we see him stop Drogyn being hit by clubs, but instead of saving him he savagely bites him and breaks his neck, this is the sacrificial test for Angel to finally join the Circle Of The Black Thorn. One of the greatest scenes in the show is where Spike, Wes, Gunn and Lorne confront Angel in the office, and Angel is able to suspend time to explain his real intentions, he had to play the long game to make it work. As mentioned earlier the power passed down from Doyle to Cordelia is now Angel's, and he foresaw what was going to happen. Great writing to tie all this together. When the time shift changes we see Marcus Hamilton outside the office looking in totally unaware of Angel's plan. We now are set up for a stunning ending, regarding the finale this episode Power Play is really a two-parter along with Not Fade Away. This one was directed by James A. Contner who directed some of the very best episodes of The X-Files, BTVS, and Angel. I think we all feel we just don't want it to end, it's like reading a brilliant book, some day we have to reach the final page, and what a page it is. Can't wait for your wrap up vid when you have finished series.
A year and a half isn't very long. You wizzed right though all these! Some people whine that they can't do both Buffy and Angel because it would take them 5 years or more. 🤔
@@samjohnson7869 I would guess they've probably already watched the entire thing and just release one episode per month on TH-cam, hoping that people will get tired of waiting and sub to their patreon to watch the rest of it? That's a stupidly slow pace otherwise. Could you even properly remember everything between episodes watching it like that? I feel like I'd be forgetting so many details.
I like this story but it does feel kind of rushed. They had to cram it in a much shorter timespan than they wanted because they found out they were getting canceled so late in the season. I believe the original plan was for this to be a season 6 storyline. I do love that a lot of the members of the black thorn are characters that we have met along the way throughout the season. So they don’t feel like random villains.
The show was getting canceled so they had to RUSH this Black Thorn story. Understandably, many hated this for the finale because they didnt have time to build up the Black Thorn as the biggest threat.
I don't think this is giving you a Spoiler Miss evil okay. what they had planned to do in season 6 to discover that Fred reasserted her presence and she along with Ilenia share one body👍👍👍👍

Andrew explains that it was a decoy everytime Spike and Angel thought it was Buffy. (comics)
People glamoured by magic to appear as Buffy. At this point she was in a magic coma

I know one reactor who is averaging 1 episode a month. I pointed out it's going to take 12 years just to get thru Buffy alone lol

Wesley dying won't bring him to Fred. You must have blocked out the tragedy of her death. There is no afterlife for her. Her soul was consumed.
Fred comes back in the comics.
@@arc7375 Is blurting out major spoilers a hobby or something?
I love your facial expression at 8:45. It seems to say "the f*ck are you talking about?"
Almost went to sleep and missed this. Ty
Another good reaction. Things really picked up speed in this season of Angel. Looking forward to the finale.
Just listening to your predictions and thinking. Man is she not prepared for the truth lol.
Sadly, almost done.
At least Angel isn't evil.
Wish they didn't have to rush this story line but it's so good!
