  • This video is my review on the Heckler & Koch (HK) P30SK, which is their subcompact hammer offering. I think we found the point of diminishing returns as far as barrel length and grip on this wide of a platform.

    Thanks for watching!

It’s not your typical micro carry like a glock43x, an sig 365, a hellcat or anything like that.

Weird, I actually like mine. DA pull might weigh heavy on the scale, but there's no stacking so very smooth and accurate in my hands.
Definitely not slim, but works for me.

I would agree the lack of stacking makes it over to me than most of the cz triggers

So I’ve tried-and owned-numerous HK P30s and I think getting one that’s LEM or has a trigger job from Langdon, Lazy Wolf, GG, etc is a must. And if you get it from Langdon it’s not that much more expensive. The stock DA/SA on P30s is absolutely awful. As for the chunk, that’s certainly a legit complaint. For me personally, however, I much prefer thicker grips; I don’t care for the micro 9/slimline trend. Have a P30SK LEM from Langdon on the way which, I hope, might serve alongside my PX4 Compact Cary as a summer EDC.

It's YOU but being 4 ft tall! 😂😂😂 The thickness has me concerned about trying to conceal it. I hate DA/SA but I'm thinking Condition 1 with the manual safety.
But how did you like it after the 12lb pull first shot? How was the SA shots?

Im considering sending my p30sk lem to langdon. I got a good deal on a used one (470 otd with night sights).

This is heartbreaking. I've been eyeing this model in lem as a new carry piece. Your video on the P30 and P30L were very positive. But this one was that much of a turd huh?

Just seems like it didn’t carry that much better for a big trade off on grip and recoil

Try it before you make a decision. I can’t find anyone who doesn’t like this model. The trigger will break in and you can always get the lem. This guy wants the ease of tiny micros which are all junk. The hk is designed to last indefinitely and it’s exquisitely accurate and reliable. I took my p30sk lem out of the box and it had a really good trigger which is only getting better with use and it’s more accurate than my $1,800 trp.

@cecilwilliams8709 i wish i could have tried it. But i found a used 22' lem sk locally for a good price so i just went ahead and grabbed it. We'll see how it goes. And if i hate it, since i got it used, i won't lose my ass getting rid of it. And it is very gently used. If there wasn't a bit of fouling and brass on the breech face, i would have thought is was unfired.

@willy4869 yeah I just think the p30 conceals as well and shoots better

H&k: their striker pistols have better triggers than their hammers

Agreed, I am getting rid of my da/sa p30 because I bought and lem one instead to send into Langdon. I am converting my usp’s to lem

All a matter of opinion. For example, this one of only a few reviews that actually doesn’t like the weapon. Many love it. To each their own. Plus it’s all about what you want. You can’t find a better double action carry pistol for example. There are none. All of those criticisms of the trigger are exactly what someone might want as a matter of safety when carrying.

I love my hk’s I have 12 I think but the da is horrendous on all of them unless you have someone work on it. Which is why the lem is so popular. The regular p30 outperforms this by a significant margin and is still very easy to carry.

Choosing the DA/SA model over the LEM was 100% user fail. Everyone points to the LEM and nobody points to the DA/SA. A tiny amount of research could save you this level of pain. Facts.
    LEM... LEM... LEM...

Sorry but you know nothing about what guns are for. No doubt you think HK’s engineers didn’t know what they were doing.
In real life, with this gun, you can pull the gun out of the holster with your finger already on the trigger. It won’t go off. After shooting the first bad guy, you can decock the hammer while scanning for the second bad guy while there are other innocents around. Or in this case don’t decock it, your finger can still safely stay on the trigger and it still won’t shoot by accident. (Well ok maybe just decock it). That’s why the HK lem and Sig dak were created. Federal agencies were demanding safer combat triggers like the German police. And quite frankly all American police guns should be like those. But whatever I’m not in charge of this universe.
With a stupid striker fired gun, you pretty much need to keep your finger on the slide and then slam it onto the trigger when you’ve decided you actually need to shoot.
Oh and how many times are police giving themselves glockleg?
The German police (and European police in general) want safe triggers that still get the job done.
Now, as a range toy, fine, get a stupid striker trigger.
I have a ton of dasa guns, one 1911, and a p365xl as a recent addition. However I’m seriously eyeballing a p30sk literally for the very reason you don’t like it.
Oh and as an aside, a local store is selling a no longer made Sig p239, single stack dasa. Choices choices.

Then why do they make a p30sk with the lem? I don’t think you understand things
