      It is a blessing and a curse - they still need to sign a specifc star to make their toiling work, but because they can't tank they won't get an organic like Wade for a while and when they do neither (sign nor high draft), they outwork to overachieve, eventually getting nowhere. I hate how the 06 heat goes down in infamy as “rigged”
    I watched ever second of ball played by the heat that season and it was just more so a perfect storm, they couldn’t keep wade in front of them. They were an older team playing a more aggressive athletic team but the Mavs had every chance in the world to win that series and even had a parade route already planned for their first ring. That was really the birth of the grit and grind heat and they pulled it out in a situation that simply just wasn’t easy. I’m not a heat fan per say but I live in Florida where all the games came on local tv in a time before it was easy to watch every game a team plays and they 100% earned that victory and their first franchise ring

    • @TheMarkTEP25
      @TheMarkTEP25 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      As a guy who also watched that series. Wade had a lot of calls that shouldn’t have been. He had moments of lowering the shoulder and running into people that were called on the defense when it should have been offensive fouls. Yeah, I’m not denying the Mavs choked and Stack screwed them, but to say that he didn’t get some questionable calls is ridiculous.

    • @ThisThatTheThird
      @ThisThatTheThird 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +13

      @@TheMarkTEP25 do you not see the difference in “some questionable calls” and “rigged”? You say he lowered his shoulder I say the defense wasn’t able to establish position in front of him; those calls are questionable regardless of how they go but to say it was rigged when the mavs had a 2-0 lead and was up 13 with less than 7 minutes to go is what’s actually ridiculous.

  • @RemixkingDystansy
    @RemixkingDystansy 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

    I think it is important to mention that the 2017 heat started the first half of the year @ 11-30 pushing the narrative of entering an era of despair. Most team would look into resting stars and tanking for a high draft picks. Instead, they rallied together and finished the 2nd half with an impressive 30-11 record. Sadly it wasn't enough for them to secure a playoff seed but I am certain teams like these definitely pushed the NBA to introduce the play-in. Something the heat would benefit from in the future.

    These documentaries are excellent. I would say you should be given a job at one of the major networks, but your work is already better than theirs.
    Do one of these on the 2001 Sixers!!!!

    1:13:53 love the vid dom as always but the Redsox came back down 3-0 against the Yankees in 04, and I believe some hockey teams have as well. Nonetheless, great vid. If Brunson doesn’t turn it over at the end of game 6 it’s Knicks Celtics ECF last year

      It aint. Randle was gone that series couldnt shoot for shit. Jalen Brunson couldnt carry the whole team to an ECF push .

      And also Miami literally won against boston what makes you think the knicks would have won that game7?

    7 finals from 2006 and winning 3, for a francise only 36 year old they should be a model for every new team, so many francises didnt reach one final let alone win it, lot of those team envy Heat
