    I'm sure you have a reason but I'm curious, why would you install a fumoto valve and pay to have your oil done? Its really a DIY convenience item, its not like they will charge you less because its easier for them.

      Hi Jay, I was having other things done that day so figured it would be easier for me to just film rather than film and do the oil change.

      @@ONBLASTWITHMG oh ok, just want to say thank you for introducing me to the fumoto valve. Makes things so much easier and less messy.

    Used one of these valves on my old car before and adding to my gx once I'm out of free service for my CPO. But I got air line that fits the valve then cut it to length to hit the jug from my rhino ramp height. Then I don't even use an oil catch pan for it. You still need one for the filter but just something nice to have and I throw it in the drain pan when it's done.

    It's official... I've turned into a cranky old man.
    Because all I could do is sit here and think: "Where the fuck are your safety glasses? Squinting ain't gonna save your eyeball, kid!" 😆

    Yesterday I did the oil change on my GX460 for the first time and personally I don’t see the point of the Fumoto valve because of all the other screws that need to come out for the oil filter. What’s one extra screw more? So yeah not for me but like someone else said “to each its own”… respect .

      Potential for stripping is my reason. In our case with the GX, you're right there are a lot of protective plates to be removed.

    ANY oil change is easy if you have a car lift you AND paid Jose to do it...But, thanks for showing the process anyway...

      True however, with the Fumoto it is 100 times more easy and you can literally do it on the side of the road.

      @@ONBLASTWITHMGwhy would you change oil on the side of the road? And like you couldn’t do it with the oil pan bolt?

    Next oil change try Amsoil. Amsoil has an engine flush. Use that first. Drain the old oil and the flush. Then use new Amsoil filter and Amsoil 0W-20 Signature series. I started using Amsoil a couple years ago with just engine oil. It my Toyota ran so good I then used their transmission oil. Then went to their gear oils for differential and transfer case. Amazing stuff. If your car shudders when driving it may just need a transmission fluid service.

    How much were the brakes and rotors?

    • @ONBLASTWITHMG
      @ONBLASTWITHMG  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      $240 for all the parts. Total parts with labor and oil change was about $375.

      All off of Amazon. So far, 10k miles in they work better than OME.

      What kind of rotors did you put on the gx? I was thinking about doing the same with cross drill slotted rotors with akebono pads.

    Why do the instructions on the OEM oil filter box say not to use tools to remove the o-ring?

    • @ONBLASTWITHMG
      @ONBLASTWITHMG  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm guessing so you don't damage the little channel it sits in.

    • @jaycarl1562
      @jaycarl1562 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that is correct, just squeeze the O-ring to create slack to grab and remove, no tool necessary.

    Honestly the fumoto valve is a complete waste on this vehicle. You still have to drop the skid plate and open an access panel, at that point isn’t it safer to just use the stick oil pan bolt and new washer?

    • @ONBLASTWITHMG
      @ONBLASTWITHMG  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think so, there is always a good chance you strip the threads with these goober and their air guns. I like the convenience and proven safety of the FUMOTO, but to each their own.

    • @ONBLASTWITHMG

      3 years on and not one issue. Also, there's plenty of online reviews to support that. There is nothing to allow it to leak.
