I clicked right after I saw Carène. It's honestly my favorite pen design of all time. So smooth to write with and so slick to look at. It's special enough yet subtle enough
I'm not too surprised since I knew how much you love those pens! Of course, if you remember I have the Marine Amber, and still unable to find the green Carene. Also have the same FC 31. This time I've been following through on not buying a bunch of pens - I'm very tempted, but have been refraining. I get e-mails from Wancher Inc., and they recently had a complimentary pen to the PuChiCo which is an inexpensive mini pocket pen and the model is the PoChaCo. Its a bit larger and reminded me of my Tombow Zoom and Majohn Q1 (a copy of the Tombow). That should be delivered Fri. or Sat. Then I ordered another Kakuna clear but in a nib size I've generally stayed away from and that's Extra Fine. I do have plans to get 1 other pen mainly because it comes with a Flex nib and that would be from The Good Blue their model R615. After that, no more plans for a while!!
That Sea Green Shimmer was quite a find - I still can't believe I got it at the price I did. I do need to take from buying pens at the start of 2025... I've both bought and sold quite a lot of pens this year!
The CF / Edson / Carene succession inlaid nib Waterman pens is an amazing line up. The older CF especially gave a near infinite number of designs. Tey're smaller and more classical than the carene, but share the same elegance, and they can be acquired for a steal.
This is such a great video! I really love the Radius pen, I think this might be my next pen. It reminds me of all of Michelangelo's sculptures, especially his original La Pieta 😍

Ive been so curious about franklin christoph, have u ever tried the pocket version? I keep getting drawn to it at Wonderpens but i dont know if i would enjoy the fricksion cap.... 🤔

I got my first Hinze pen at the Dallas Pen Show this year and actually Francisco talked me into a second so I left with two. 😂 I absolutely love them. I stopped at their table because you mentioned them in previous videos. Thank you for always giving us great info and recommendations.

Looks like it was a great year for you (for FP's at least). I'd give you a warning about Franklin-Christoph pens about how addicting they are -- but I heard you say you've already ordered a second. One of the key benefits to me of buying from F-C (and a few others, like Edision, Kanilea, Schon Design etc) is that they take their time to tune the nib before shipping. Every pen I've had from each of those folks wrote wonderfully right out of the box!
Great collection. I do love the Waterman Carene, because it is so classic and lovely. I don't think I will purchase one, because I tend to lean toward chunky pens, even though I do love the look of the Carene and how classy it is. I think of the 5 pens there, I would probably pick the Walltown pen. Not sure why, but it's just so cute and does have the more chunky look that I like.
Great list for this year! I was going to say that since I follow all of your videos, it would help to see what you sell. It kind f feels like a loss when you sell them because we get attached to them too. Do you still own the Leonardo Furore Aquapetra? I am still waiting for mine to come from fountain pen day. Hopefully, it comes soon since my inkvent is tied up in that order.

@SydMaven it came with an EF which felt like a very wet Medium. That is the finest it comes in. And I have very small writing so I had to get it ground to a Needlepoint to make it usable for everyday.

It was a hard choice between my maker pens and this one. But in the end, the Carene truly surprised me this year.
I love Walltown pens ... I have several. The Model 31 is probably my favorite FC model.
They’re really great! I may have a Model 2 coming in the Vanness Exclusive... but it is stuck due to the Canada Post strike!

3:00 - Pelikan M1000. What nib did it come with, and what was it ground to? Couldn't it be supplied with a nib of choice? Thanks for the video.
