    I remember some of these from when I was younger, the UK versions were sometimes a little different from the US games. Just sitting here kicking myself for where these games ended up. Thank you, Don Charles in the UK

    I sold a sealed copy of Sonic CD, graded by WATA at 9.8 A+ for $2600+ in February. Only had $88 into it from purchase and grading costs

      U think it worth grading then?

      Grading video games is like grading microwave ovens. Mass production anything should NEVER be graded, and if you think that people are going to be stupid enough to pay 500 time the original cost for a video game, you'd be correct. There's a sucker born every minute.

    My husband and I are gamers and collectors ourselves and I hadn't even heard of some of these! Wow. He's mostly into Nintendo things, so it was cool to hear games we've been looking for too. Thanks for this video!

    Just so you know, Clay Fighter Sculpters Cut is an updated version of Clayfighters 63 1/3. It was only released for rental at Blockbuster stores, that's why it's so rare and doesn't come with a box.

      Whenever people see cardboard boxes, it translates in their minds as “disposable.”
      It’s common to find Sega Master System and Genesis games with boxes since they came in plastic cases. Whereas Nintendo games all came in cardboard, so you mostly find those without boxes.

    I saw an add on my local fb rummage page about 5 years ago. Guy had a couple boxes of PS2 games. I could see a few titles on top that I never heard of. Ended up going to take a look at them and got 40 that were on the most rare/scarce games list for the PS2 (plus others). Quite a few RPG's from Japan that were in cardboard boxes w/dvd's. Paid $3 per game.
    And yes I don't think I've ever came across Neo Geo in the wild. I remember when the Neo Geo was in specialty game stores in the local malls. It was $600 so I bought the Sega CD player instead, get home and realize I need a Genesis to play it. Ended up going back and buying the Genesis. Cost about what the Neo Geo would of anyways lol but the Geo games were all $200 each.
    My favorite is when everyone was all nuts about the PS1 and I had the 3DO. I was like "the Ps1 sucks". But looking back the 3DO had a lot of horrible games. They let anyone and everyone make them was part of that problem.

    I heard some of the rarest games for the Atari 2600 were mail-order only, like _Tooth Protectors_ which I just saw a review for, and a machine language programming cartridge. Others I don't know the rarity were _Chase the Chuckwagon_ (one of the worst games made) and _Kool-Aid Man_ which a friend had and was OK.
    I learned much later that Sears Tele Games were essentially an Atari system. Maybe that made sense in 1977-80 before Atari system became a hit with Space Invaders since they needed someone to sell their stuff. I got some of my Atari carts at J.C. Penney and don't remember even looking in Sears. I do have a few with the Tele Games label that were handed down to me.

    I bought the Keio Flying Squadron game in 1998 on a whim. It sat in my closet for years and was never played. A few years ago I went through some old boxes and there it was. I put it on eBay at the time and it bid up to $840 or so. Hard to believe it’s increased so much in value since I listed mine, but it has. $3,000… wow.

    Clayfighters sculptors cut was only released for rental at blockbusters. The only ways to get this was to rent it and keep it or buy it when they sold out. They only made 20,000 and most boxes were thrown out. The manuals were sometimes rented so they rarely made it. I have one cib and it’s one of my most expensive game’s. Anyone that wants a complete n64 set must have this, meaning only 20k people can have complete n64 sets. Accounting that all 20k cartridges made it, which they didn’t. I would have included rule of rose for ps2 because of the history but nice video nonetheless.

    Hi Don - I know nothing about video games, but would certainly like to keep an eye out for any that are worth as much as you say these are. I did a quick search on Facebook Marketplace near me for one - Earthbound - and it looks like there are a bunch for sale for $15 - $30, but they appear to be new reproductions? Do they reproduce vintage games? How do we know the difference aside from looking for them still in packaging?

    May I clarify the reason that the 1st game “Mike Tyson Punch out” is so high is because it is a “5 Screw Variant” if you have the 3 screw standard it is like a $40 cart CIB is like $200

    • @TimTalksToys
      @TimTalksToys 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It absolutely was not a 5 screw. If you revisit the eBay listing it was a 3 screw. The one that sold wasn’t even a first print. It is a very clean early print.
