    70's Aerosmith was fire. Hard to beat their first five albums. You would have to look high and low to find a bad tune. Dive into that era of Aerosmith and you won't be disappointed.

      @jaquestraw1 I hear ya. IMO, that album had about 5 real good rocking tunes and 4 fillers. Too be honest I didn't really like "Walk this way" off the Toys album. Maybe it was due to the massive overplay on AM radio, we'll never know. After the whole run dmc collaboration it kinda became lost it for me. I really liked the "Get Your Wings" and "Rocks" albums. Their first album Aerosmith which was released, then pulled and re-released after walk this way brought them some notoriety was vastly overlooked. My first concert was them as headliner with Bob Seger, Jeff Beck, Black Oak Arkansas and Poco, July 4th 1976. Miss those days, simpler times and people hadn't become so open minded that their brains were falling out.

    As a Brother✊🏿 from the Boogie Down Bronx, (59 years old) I was a big fan of Aerosmith. They had a funky groove to their rock thing. Way before Aerosmith collaborated with RunDmc, the drum intro to “Walk This Way” was cut and scratched at the hip hop club. Plus the original song is way better than that watered down rock/HipHop collabo!!! Yea I said it!!!😂😂

      yo - did you know that Steven Tyler's dad taught math at Cardinal Spellman HS in the Bronx! Concourse and 184th here for this 59 year old white boy! The cool thing about the Bronx was you could rock to Aerosmith and I could rock to Stevie Wonder and no one cared cause everyone understood!

    The first album I ever bought with my own money was this album in 1975 when I was 8 years old. I heard Walk this Way and was hooked. The follow up album Rocks (1976) is Aerosmith’s masterpiece.

      There musta been something in the water back then because the catalogue of great music across all genres was inspired by something. It's uncanny how so many different musical minds from so many different backgrounds and influences could create such a wide variety of musical gold. Sadly it went south a few years later, never to recover.

    • @itsmedrooms6071
      @itsmedrooms6071 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MoMoMyPup10 Yep. There was still good music in the 80s and I liked some of the grunge stuff when that was all the rage, There’s still good music today although it’s getting lost in an ocean of information, diamonds in the waste.
      I’m in complete agreement though because the late 60s and the entire 70s saw an unprecedented burst of musical creativity and excellence that I fear will never return sadly. Less people bother to learn their instruments now and with AI it certainly looks bleak.

    • @MoMoMyPup10
      @MoMoMyPup10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@itsmedrooms6071 Definitely agree. The 80's as a decade overall was good, but where it trended turned out to be a bad thing. Techno seemed to turn the whole industry artificial and uninspiring. And much of it didn't age well at all. Then lip sync and autotune destroyed everything.

    Emotion? Sweet REACTION. I liked seeing Che groovin like he was around 4:08 especially, heh! "Love in an elevator" is another one of theirs with raunchy lyrics and even raunchier riffage. "Toys in the attic," the title track of the album here, is pretty mind-blowingly good. "Dude looks like a lady" is fun, and y'all prolly have heard it before. "Rag Doll" is another great funky one from their "sober" incarceration. "Back in the saddle" is a classic from when drugged-out Joe Perry and Steven Tyler were dubbed "The Toxic Twins."

    A couple more good ones from that album are; Round and Round__No More No More. My first concert was 1978 - Cal Jam 2; Aerosmith headlined it. I was 15yrs9mos, was there for more than 26 hours, my older brother got lost around noon...just before Santana played, and I hitch-hiked home (after Aerosmith) from the speedway to San Berdoo. I was hollering "anyone going to Berdoo?" and someone said "come on, we are." They lived just a few blocks from me.

      I think it’s an interview with Howard Stern, but Steven Tyler mentioned forgetting to bring his maracas and just told the sound guy to turn the gain on the mic all the up and used the sugar packet like you mentioned. Also, in the beginning of the song, there’s a vibraslap that’s played three times but the third slap it broke. The just ran with it and left it in.

    Boy! Steven Tyler has some crazy vocal talent. I remember buying this album. My uncle took me to town after we finished putting up our last barn of tobacco, and he took me to the record shop (which was actually the Schwinn bike repair shop & automotive repair shop, combined) but they sold records in the back of the shop. I had to wait in line, but I was so excited when I got this record. I went home and immediately put it on to play. lol What great memories, thanks fellas for reacting to this one. We appreciate you. 💖
    Here's another song that I'd suggest, if interested. *"Aerosmith - Walk This Way (Audio)" (channel: Aerosmith)* --This song was written by Steve Tyler and Joe Perry and is the second single from their 1975 album "Toys In The Attic." It peaked at number #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was a part of a string of successful hits from the band.

    As a teen in the 70s, if I pulled up anywhere that was kickin out some Aerosmith jams, I knew I was at the right place. Check out 'Seasons of Whither' sometime. You'll dig it

    This Album, "Toys in the Attic" may be one of their very best albums. Loaded with awesome songs. Thanks for reviewing this!

    I was 5 years old when this album came out; I remember going with my neighbors/babysitters to buy it. I always loved the name & cover of this record and wanted to hear it. Thank you & nice review, as always, guys. Take care 🙂

      Our generation was fortunate with spectacular music. Today's illiterate punks have Drake and Katie Perry.

      @sebastianblack6506 yep, it's true. I have always loved and been a big fan of music. Between my babysitters, my family, and Philadelphia radio, I feel lucky to have heard many genres of music in my life. You take care 🙂

      @maxbrazil3712 you're right. We had radio and print media that were influential back in the day. Now, not so much. Good new bands are out there, but you have to search high & low to find them. Because we still have college and good rock radio stations in Philly, I do get to hear new music. It isn't the same as we had growing up and feel bad for kids today. You take care 🙂

    My friends and I -- and an occasional disc jockey -- always wondered what Joe Perry left in the studio the day they recorded this song, cuz he was just hitting his stride on his outro guitar solo when the song faded out. Keep the tape rollin', Aerosmith !!
    "They went into the studio with some intent that day." Ya got that right. And they intent-ed many more times, too. Aerosmith may be one of the least mentioned of the greatest R&R bands in the 70's. At least in regards to their first 4 or 5 albums. This song and Walk This Way are beyond a doubt two of the most iconic songs in rock history.
