@MacJersey see at 02:57 that brown house with all the dormer windows sitting out in the middle of the water. That was our house until the mid-1980s when we sold it to my stepsister and her husband after my stepmother died. I loved that house and the amazing steady breeze off the intercostal. That big house closer to the camera that is sitting right up against the causeway? My stepmother’s parents vacation home. They were prominent physicians from Philly - last name Hirst.
So terribly sad. I think Mantoloking was harder hit than any other area. My best friend was renting a house about a half mile up the road. They lost their house and car. They have nowhere to go. It just breaks my heart.
Hi R40Jon! that area is fine with the exception of the homes on the river alot of them flooded and the marina's lost boats that were stored on blocks. area faired well with alot of the destruction on the barrier island and the bridge area. many homes were lost.
A guy who lived in my house before my family moved into my house was killed when his motorcycle was knocked off the old Mantaloking bridge, when the said that the Mantaloking bridge was in the ocean we originally thought they meant the piece of the old bridge was knocked into the ocean! So sad all those people lost there homes, sometimes makes you wonder if there's a God.
HEY man AWESOME Video!!! I grew up in Brick right up the road by Villa Victoria. I can't believe what happened. Mantoloking is unrecognizable. I used to work over at the Winter Yatch Basin and wanted to see video of the damage over there knowing it was bad. You did a very good job on the video ... What i remember I'm sure will never be the same
Thanks for uploading this video. I live in Point Pleasant Beach and only heard about the damage because the National Guard closed RT 35 in Bay Head. Ive been over that bridge a million times and now Mantoloking isn't recognizable anymore
Isaiah 26:9 ► With my soul have I desired you in the night; yes, with my spirit within me will I seek you early: for when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. So sorry you are going through this devastation.
Do you know Ellie Keck? She lives with her mother on Elder St in Mantoloking. She's a friend of mine and I have been unable to reach her since Sandy hit...they have been there many years...

For those who don't know mantoloking, the area he was looking at was once filled with land and trees and large homes and they were obliterated.
