My dad's truck is the blue pickup @ 1:35... my parents, who were in their 70's at the time crawled out of the trucks windows in the midst of that storm and waded in ice.cold water to a house who's family took them in until the next day. It breaks my heart to watch this. Ty for posting 💔
I was showing my 8 year old son videos about Sandy. He found this video and I was surprised to see my mother's house on the corner of Beachview drive in the video. I paused it and told him the story about an elderly couple who got stuck in their car but since we by some miracle didn't lose power, they found their way to our house because they saw the porch light on. I told him how we let them in, tried to comfort them and gave them a warm place to stay for the night. None of us slept, as it was a terrifying night. The next morning a rescue boat came and got them. As soon as I was done telling him I saw your comment!
I almost bought a house on Foster Road many years ago. But, boy, what a devastating time this was. My heart still goes out to all affected by this. And many thanks for the excellent coverage!
I was expecting to see 1.Downtown Toms River where the Ocean Countly Library is located and 2. Edgemere Drive and Riverwood Park.I used to Live in Edgemere Drive in Toms River New Jersey that was within walking distance of Riverwood Park.So how were those 2 places affected by Hurricane Sandy?
