In a little over 21 minutes the most powerful and beautiful movie you will ever see. Just incredible. Thank you so much for sharing this with us all. Merry Christmas Everyone!
Thank You Mr. Anderson, With All The Troubles We Have-This Story Of Truth Makes It All OK- May God Bless You and Your Family At Christmas. We Appreciate It!!!!!
I discovered this quite by accident on TCM back in '02 or so. Flash forward to Christmas 2011. We invited anyone who didn't have anyplace to be on Christmas Day to come to the social room of our apartment building. We didn't get a lot of takers, but we showed this short to the ones who came. They loved it so much a few of them applauded. It was a fine way to end Christmas Day and one of my favorite Christmas memories.
I love this short movie so much, I watched it at least 15 or 20 times last Christmas season and watched it at least 10 times this year, and I may watch it again another 10 times before this year's holiday season is over, it's my #1 favorite Christmas story, plus I always liked J.Caroll Naish.
Wow... I haven't heard the term "Autocourt" in ages. I cane across this gem a couple years ago and I've watched it over occaisionally many times. Not only is it a heartwarming holiday story but, it also evokes fond memories I have of the past and the way things still were in the days of my childhood.
I have loved this little movie for many years. I first found it on TCM years ago. It should be seen by everyone, especially nowadays. It not only shows the real meaning of Christmas, it expresses how a group of people from different backgrounds can come together and accomplish a mission of love. This country has never needed this message more than now. So glad it has been put on TH-cam and not trashed for being unPC. THANKS 💓 BTW it won an Oscar...
One of the best Christmas Movies ever. I almost wish they would do a remake keeping it in the 40s but adding more character development. It would make a great longer movie!
I caught this by accident a couple of years ago and have been trying to find it ever since. I finally googled with right search terms and am so happy to have found it, thanks for sharing! #love Christmasthemedmovies
have been looking for this for over 20 years. the traveling man is Dick Elliott. mayor of Mayberry, and man in" It's a Wonderful Life "on the porch saying "youth is wasted on the wrong people"
Wow!! So nice you found it!! I can relate because I saw the last half at the end of a TCM movie but missed the name and was afraid I'd never find it again, so I can imagine your dilemma!
This has become a great yearly viewing tradition. Thanks for sharing this amazing film. The first time that I saw it on TCM a few years back my mind was absolutely blown.
Thank you so much for sharing! I caught this short on at Christmas time about 2 years ago and have tried to see it again without success. It's one of the best Christmas movies EVER! :)
J. Carrol Naish pretty much plays the same Italian he played for an Oscar in the Bogart movie "Sahara" from 2 years earlier. Carrol still had enough "star" power for this little production. He starts as the sort of guy who always says, "Bah, Humbug!" He changes as he sees the overflowing milk of human kindness. So let's call this a Christmas Carrol.
This is a great Christmas movie but it shows how people should treat each other the whole year, I watch this during the whole year, reminds me about how I should act toward others all the time!
Thank you for uploading this! I’ve watched it several times since I first came across it a couple of years, including tonight (which is August 11th, 2019. 😊)
Thanks for the video. What a beautiful representation!! I watched Star in the Night on TCM this morning. Thought I'd see if I could find more information, Googled, and came across this video. I'll tell you it made me cry. Thank you.
I’m half Italian. That ah Nicky seems like a nice ah boy. Love this Christmas special. Tcm should should it. Make me miss my Italian aunts uncles grandparents that have passed
Wonderful movie! I found it on TCM, but only the second half. The info that was posted on TV was wrong. I struggled to find out the name of this short film. I am so happy to find it. It's mid summer, but Christmas spirit is always beautiful to have around.
+Aaron Broyles It's funny you should mention "Christmas in Connecticut" - as it's my favorite Christmas movie, with this one as a 'must see' on Christmas Eve!
The three cowboys are the modern version of the 3 Wise 🦉 Men and the hotel is the modern version of Bethlehem INN and the couple are the modern version of Joseph and Mary! Go HUG someone today IF they're been vaccinated or not 🚫 Blessings and Hugs 💖💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕!
BTW, those are some kind of kookie, wandering cowboys that open the show. If they are supposed to represent the Magi, I just don't know if we can really call them "Wise Men." One of the cowpokes, though, seemed to have the right idea of "giving" rather than receiving at Christmas. Okay, good enough for me.
For America, World War II began just before Christmas of 1941 and ended in the late summer of 1945. The world had brutalized itself, and the healing would take decades. Centuries of Faith had been tested, and the Birth of a Child beneath a Bright Star changed the World and would change the Hearts and Minds of people far into the future on Christmas Eve at a place called "Nick's."
This never gets old, a 22 minute masterpiece.
The messages this beautiful short movie sends are longer than the show. I love this, especially in the tumultuous times of today.
Beautiful version of the Christmas story...a warm tear jerker
This is my third time watching this short and I still think it is outstanding.
This makes my heart 💖 sparkle

The first time I saw this short film was on the end of the "Christmas in Connecticut movie". It was terrific.

This is a great Christmas movie but it shows how people should treat each other the whole year, I watch this during the whole year, reminds me about how I should act toward others all the time!
The 2 people that disliked this must not have hearts.
I watch this every year

And that is what Christmas is all about ♥️🙏🙏🏽🙏🏻🙏🏿🙏🏾🙏🏼♥️🎄🌟
Old, hokey, wonderful short film.
Love this... just the sweetest
"A Star in the Night"(AAAAA) is the short film when buying the long film " A Christmas in Connecticut"(average)
This is swell!
Everyone has something they can do to help
God bless you and MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE⚓
Directed by...Don Siegel. He'd go on to direct Clint Eastwood's classic cop movie Dirty Harry. Interesting...

Okay, good enough for me.
Es gibt kaum deutsche Kommentare. Der Film ist genial auch ohne Sprache...Es sieht ein verständnisvolles Herz besser.
TCM not showing it tonight on Christmas morning usually on at 4:30 or 5 am. Sad they ended the tradition. Merry Christmas!
🎄🎄🎄🎄💜💚💛🎄🎄🎄🎄
Merry Christmas again everyone! 🎇🛐

@weirdwatch I think the message of this film is that this world can make a person hard and insensitive but deep down inside people are good...
Corny, sappy, but just a great short!
Makes ya wonder what shots n cigars they used to celebrate Jesus' birth!
But why was she making bandages?
and to think that the director of this film would go on directing some of the most violent films of the 60s and 70s (DIRTY HARRY, THE KILLERS).
That is sad to hear. 😕
🙄
My number 1 favorite Christmas story, I love this and J.Carrol Naish is one of my favorite old movie actors.
