The "Go Straight" melody riff was apparently a banger in the clubs, considering all the songs it's in.
Edit: It's so good that Yuzo used it again in SOR 4 for the opening track "They're Back".

I think all the "influences" for Go Straight are a bit misleading, Good Life by Inner City was such a massive club hit that everyone and their dog ripped it off circa 1990 (hence all the soundalikes). It's possible though unlikely that Yuzo Koshiro was inspired by one of the Good Life soundalikes and not the original, but it's more likely that it's inspired by Good Life

After listening to the instrumental version of Ebeneezer Goode by The Shamen at 0:44 in the song (when the rapping is supposed to start)
I can hear it's influence on Streets Of Rage Stage 1-1 (Go Straight) at 1:14 in the video game music.
But I also hear the influence of Move Any Mountain by The Shamen at 0:23 in the song when I listen to Streets Of Rage - (Under Logic) at 0:29 in the video game music.

Yuzo basically ripped these songs off 90's dance/eurohouse and enhanced the sound. Plus the streets of rage game is also a mix between street fighter and TMNT and thats where he got influence for the game SF for the characters and TMNT for the beat them up style fighting.

He didn't rip them off because there is clear similarities but major differences. That's how all music works, something fuels something else in part or in whole

@@TheOneSymphony I understand, everyone has influences and looks at other sources to gather ideas and information; sometimes combining/merging them together. All I'm trying to say is he did rip off alot of the sounds and beats plus mixed them together. I grew up in the early 90's; so I knew all this music from radio, TV, dance clubs and even in the shopping malls because they use to blast this music.

None of this is plagiarized as it sounds close but not direct in all cases. There's obvious differences and laws that cover that so with how popular this soundtrack is, there would have been major plagiarism cases in the courts. So definitely not plagiarism, it's how music works.
