@MeezersRcool I wasn't able to reply directly to your comment so hoping you see this. According to the specifications in the User Manual of the Instant Pot, it says: * Working pressure: High 10.2 ~ 11.6psi (70 ~ 80kPa); Low 5.8 ~ 7.2psi (40 ~ 50kPa) * Steam release pressure limit: 15.22 psi (105kPa) Is that helpful? I have been moving away from non-stick so finally with the instant pot, I was able to part with my last non-stick item... my rice cooker! I'm still learning so I really appreciate your feedback and questions! Take care!
That meat looks great and all you need to go with it is English Peas, and Mashed Potatoes to make for a perfect meal like my mother, and grandmother use to cook. That pressure cooker did a nice job of cooking that meat, and you have made this look so easy.
Just wanna let you know, I appreciate how you really just get to the point and your voice is sooooooo soothing. Is there any measurements on the liquid? Not sure how much soy sauce & vinegar I need to put.
Thanks! 1/4 c soy sauce 1/2 c rice wine vinegar 1/4 c chicken stock Hope that helps. The full recipe can be found in my cookbook: geni.us/FloCookbookIP
@@FloLum just made this last night, it was delicious 😋😋😋 it tastes almost like pork adobo (my fave) so now I'm just gonna add ginger to my adobo, it tastes soooo good
What a great review. I am hearing impaired and I could hear and understand you really easily. Some reviewers have background music so high its difficult for someone like me to to follow what they are saying. Is the High pressure on this particular model actually 15 psi? Is there a low setting like 10 or 9 psi? I really like the fact it has a stainless steel inner pot. I have other electric pressure cookers that are teflon/non-stick - no so keen on that, but I do love the convenience of pressure cooking. Be well :)
on your website you seem to use the instant pot for sous vide. is this something the bluetooth version supports (ie you can set a constant temp from the app), or you have to monitor it yourself? I just bought the IPDUO version and wonder if I made a mistake. Thanks
Yes, only doable via the Smart as you can control the temperature. I have been keeping a thermometer in the water to make sure the temperature stays constant and so far it has not disappointed. You can always get another one. ;)
Wow, things are so much more "polished" now. Those pork shoulder blades looked delicious. I need to add them to my grocery list. BTW, did you write the apps for the blutooth version of IP?
Thanks, Ken! I did at one point write the recipe for the app but they have since discontinued the BlueTooth model I have and no longer support the app. Grrr...
Just made this recipe and Flo just killed this recipe , absolutely delicious. We will be making this again. I used pork steaks and they were fall off the bone delish.
Quite interesting, Flo. I appreciate the information on the smart pot. If I ever invest in another IPot, it will definitely be the smart pot. Is yours a 6 or8 quart model? Your teaching methods are super and helpful. I’ve learned much, and have easily adjusted to you and Dudes amusing bantering. Thank you for sharing a peek into your interesting travels, cooking and life. Jo
Loved your video. I was not aware about bluetooth. Do all instapots have that capability? Isn't technology wonderful? Currently cooking with a stove top and the electric ones look very interesting.
Hi there! So glad you enjoyed my video. Only the Instant Pot SMART model has the Bluetooth technology. I have never used a pressure cooker before (only once in high school Foods class that scared me to death!) I've been absolutely loving my Instant Pot!
Thanks so much for these recipes! My bf and I have enjoyed them so much! So far we've tried the coconut curry chicken and chicken adobo. Both awesome. And then the next night we used country style ribs instead of chicken for the adobo recipe and it came out RLY well. Anyways there's no other good videos on how to cook with pressure cookers so we rly appreciate your recipes ^_^
Wow! I really appreciate that! I am hoping to inspire people to make simple, easy, and tasty meals. And using an IP makes it fast! Thank you for watching! I hope you are subscribed to be notified of new videos. =)
I hope this is in your cookbook that I ordered because when I click on the link that you have below for the entire recipe (need measurements) it's a blank screen. I tried going into you tube and its the same clip, so hopefully I can get the recipe in your cookbook. Looks good, but disappointed that I couldn't get it to come up.
It’s a matter of balancing the flavours. You can always use a sugar substitute or use less if you want. If you choose to omit it, it may be on the salty side.
Will you keep making videos on recipes on instant pot? I'm Asian and there's not that many Asian pressure cook books that i can find. Thanks. Will try this recipe tmr
I will definitely! For this recipe, I think I would cut down the liquid next time. I think I say 3 cups of stock but perhaps reduce it to 1-2 cups. I'm still learning. I hope you will be patient with me as I keep testing recipes.
Hi Flo, I have some pork steaks in my freezer to use up and want to make this recipe. I just found it in your cookbook, so it's on deck for next week! It's funny looking back on your early videos and seeing how shiny and new your IP looked! :-)
For some reason my reply got deleted... I am sorry, I thought I posted the recipe on my blog. I will get it up for you as soon as possible. Thanks for watching!
@@FloLum thanks for the prompt reply ☺ I really wanna do this recipe but I'm gonna hold out till I get rice vinegar, I love the mildness of it. I don't cook with ginger often but I'm gonna get some fresh for this.
I really like this, thanks! Did you put 1 cup vinegar and 1 cup soy sauce in? Also do you have a special way of removing the skin from the fresh ginger? I have an earlier model Instant Pot, which will work fine. Much appreciation!
You will find my recipe for this here: flolum.com/instant-pot-smart-asian-braised-pork-shoulder/ The easiest way to remove the skin from ginger is scraping it off with the back of a pairing knife (not the sharp side). Or even with a spoon. Comes off very easily! Enjoy the recipe! Thanks for watching and hope you're subscribed to be notified of new videos.
I know I said "short ribs"... I've been wanting to make short ribs! But pork shoulder is what I meant! Hope you enjoy. Do you prefer beef or pork?
pork 100%

Thanks so much for your kind remarks! I will try to get a recipe up on my blog for this video soon. Stay tuned!
Great video! I just bought my Instant Pot and can't wait to try out this recipe!
Awesome! Hope you'll enjoy this recipe!
Very nice video and interesting too, i have a top of the range sage pressure cooker could do the same via bluetooth and galaxy edge7
I just made this tonight. so delicious!! I will be making it again for sure! thank you!!

I'm gonna try this recipe tonight! I have 1.1 lbs of pork shoulder. Do I cut half of the ingredients and does it still take 45 mins to cook it?
Sheena Chan Awesome! Yes, I would cut the recipe down in half but cook for the full 45 mins. Let me know how it turns out!

That's weird. We did not have a problem pulling it up. But yes, the recipe is in the cookbook!
I made cabbage rolls in my pressure cooker using the polish chefs tecipe. Wonderful
+Cathe McC Sounds good!
Flo , I tried your receipe, it was great ! Look forward to the delish.left overs tomorrow for supper, the sauce on rice and veggies ! 💐
Looks delicious. What size Instant Pot is that?
Both my pots are 6qt. That's all there was back then! 😉
Flo Lum Thank you for replying back. ❤️
Hi! Can you quickly detail the steps needed to then reduce the sauce? Thank you!
Do you have to use Sugar? I've noticed quite a few Asian sauces use sugar. Is it a must in most asian cooking?
It’s a matter of balancing the flavours. You can always use a sugar substitute or use less if you want. If you choose to omit it, it may be on the salty side.
Use honey
Liese Haley you can subsitute with honey or other sweetners

LOL! This was one of the first recipes we filmed. 😊
Hi, when in slow cooker mode does it run at 1000 watts? I'm worried about the electric bill over a 8+ hour period.
xbeanx3000 This is a technical question that I don't have an answer to. Perhaps Instant Pot can help you with this.
Also i only have powdered ginger that should be fine right?
I did order the Instant pot without the bluetooth. Cant wait to get it and experiment.
How exciting! Hope you'll enjoy it as much as I have!
I am sure I will. Thanks for getting back to me Flo.
Have you tried browning the meat under the broiler ?
+Leo Katak Most of the time I do.
Great format/editing.
Hi, I loved your video, but where do you hide the recipe for your "Instant Pot Smart - Asian Braised Pork Shoulder"? :-)
For some reason my reply got deleted... I am sorry, I thought I posted the recipe on my blog. I will get it up for you as soon as possible. Thanks for watching!
Here it is: flolum.com/instant-pot-smart-asian-braised-pork-shoulder/
Please let me know how it goes! Enjoy!
Flo Lum Thanks Flo. I was easily able to save the recipe to Evernote for reference. Now I’ve got to go purchase some oyster sauce.
What kind of music is in the background?
Made this tonight. If you want to make an inexpensive cut of meat tender and delicious then try this recipe.
Thanks!
I don't have rice vinegar, what vinegar could i sub it for? white vinegar?
White vinegar is fine but powdered ginger is not the same as fresh but it will be ok.

I luv tech. I wish I got the bluetooth model. I got the 8 quart non-bluetooth
Yes, my bluetooth model is definitely my go to IP. I don't think the 8qt come in bluetooth yet.

How much soy sauce and vinager?
whats the recipe?
Where is the recipe?

1:30 the sizzling sound is so good. looks yummy
Off-putting music! Thanks for the recipe! I brown pork steaks on stove then bake about 25-35 minutes so about same amount of time, but want one pot.
Agree, the background music is very annoying. Please don't use any. It's not at all necessary.
Delicious
Good job cooking camera work ok
your bench is literally small..
but great recipe
+Annleyce Yawingu Yes, but I don't need a huge kitchen to make good food. =)
Flo Lum just saying though, for safety sometime :)
How much soy sauce and vinegar you add
