    Nothing is perfect, but it is a great 89/100 game.
    "Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury" is widely considered a very good game, with most reviews praising it as a fantastic package combining the classic fun of 3D World with the innovative and unique gameplay of Bowser's Fury, making it a must-buy for Switch owners.
    Key points about the game:
    High quality platforming:
    Both 3D World and Bowser's Fury offer excellent platforming mechanics, with diverse levels and creative power-ups.
    Great multiplayer experience:
    The game shines in multiplayer mode, allowing for fun cooperative gameplay with friends.
    Unique Bowser's Fury addition:
    While smaller in scale, Bowser's Fury provides a fresh take on Mario gameplay with open-world elements and a distinct visual style.
    Variety in gameplay:
    The combination of the two modes offers a diverse experience, catering to different playstyles.

    Hi 3D World addict here
    I love 3D world. It's my favorite 3D Mario other than the galaxy games. I love the switch port a LOT as well but it has issues. Like a lot of them.
    The movement increase is a good change ON PAPER, but in execution it's not because a lot of the levels were designed around the old movement speed. Most of the changes (such the new dive and other movement tech from odyssey) are a net positive but they do ruin the integrity of the original's level design a lot. Champion's Road's challenge is kind of neutered due to the added odyssey movement. Honestly they should have made a separate mode for this imo.
    Also, the world map feels extremely empty without the miiverse messages and it's a damn shame that the switch port didn't put a replacement for it ala Super Mario Maker 2 or Splatoon (the lack of ghost miis I couldn't care less about but it's still an omission).
    Overall, it really just feels like the 3D World section of the port was an afterthought, as the main focus was around the Bowser's Fury mode. And Bowser's Fury is AMAZING don't get me wrong but I wish 3D World got some more care. Still the best wii u port on switch other than Captain Toad lol
    Also the ui's way worse than the original but that's a topic for another day. This was a great video, man.

      @@mps64 I absolutely agree with some of these. I do like the movement changes but I think sometimes some of the characters are a bit too fast. I miss Miiverse so much, the messages were so weird but I loved seeing them on the world map. It made them feel more alive. I don’t mind the UI as much but yeah the original one was a lot better.
      Thank you for watching my video it means a lot :)

    You mentioned in your video (a great video breakdown btw) that the movement is better in Bowsers Fury because the player gets a full, "360 degrees of movement" as compared to 3D World.
    Thinking about it, I don't think that's correct. Both games offer a full 360 degrees of movement, as proven by the 3D levels in both games that a person must navigate through in order to successfully play the game.
    One of the biggest differences between the two games has to do with the camera and its different placements/angles in each game, which some of the time I've noticed gives the illusion of a whole different type/style of movement... maybe that's what you were referring to about the full 360 degrees of movement in Bowsers Fury??

    • @Quintolio
      @Quintolio  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@sofaking1180 I believe 3D World is only 8 directional movement for some reason. (I know it is at least in the Wii U) I mentioned it because I felt Bowser’s Fury has a more fluid transition between each direction. I could genuinely be wrong though so if I am, I apologize.
      Also, thank you so much for enjoying my video. I try my best to make the best stuff I possibly can!

    • @sofaking1180
      @sofaking1180 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @Quintolio yeah you could be right about the 8 directional input?? I honestly didn't think about that... especially when 3D World has sometimes been considered (I've read certain opinions) half way between a 2D and 3D platformer based on the way the levels are designed as well as in the way it controls???!!!... ...Now I think I am understanding why certain people held that opinion!

      @@Quintolio I haven't played the original Wii U version, but I think that might just be a Wii U thing. Because I've tested it out in the Switch version and I've been able to move in more than 8 directions. I don't think it's full 360 still, because I couldn't just freely move in EVERY direction, but it was way more than 8 (which would just be 90 and 45 degree angles). I think maybe it still kinda tends to snap and slightly correct you into one of the 8 directions if that's the broad direction you're holding in, but you can make more minute adjustments after that too, but idk I haven't gotten down exactly how it works, but I can definitely move in more than just 8 directions.

    i think astro bot took this game and just perfected it.
    because my least favourite part of this game is how everything just feels like a floating void of nothingness with blocky level assets placed there. idk it’s a very personal thing but there’s nothing organic about it; and you can really feel that they made it in their custom level editing engine. there’s not a lot of asset variety, especially in shape as almosg everything is square or rectangular.
    an odd criticism ik, but yeah.
    also the lifeless and homogenised NSMB plastic artstyle doesn’t help imo.
    it’s linear mario like galaxy 2, but without all the inventiveness, and it’s just extremely safe.
    not bad, infact it does everything really well; but because of that it falls shorter of astro bot and galaxy 2 for me.

    • @Quintolio
      @Quintolio  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@cwega2463 I can see where you’re coming from. I absolutely loved playing Astro Bot, and thinking about it now I can agree. Astro Bot has some amazing level designs. I kinda feel though that 3D World does have its own unique style. It’s not as over the top as something like Galaxy but I wouldn’t say this is akin to something like New Super Mario Bros. It’s definitely a very safe game and it doesn’t do too much to deviate from the traditional Mario formula, but it does have its merits.
      Astro Bot took all these things people loved and made it something bigger which is absolutely awesome. Astro Bot was my second favourite game of 2024 so I can 100% agree that it perfected a lot of the things 3D World and even to some extent the Galaxy games tried to do.

    • @legoboy7107
      @legoboy7107 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      The blockiness is because it's a 3D conversion of 2D Super Mario Bros. gameplay, which is fundamentally designed around a tile-based blocky system even for slopes, everything from your movement, jump height, character size, etc., is designed around the grid system in 2D Mario. Whereas the typical 3D Mario style introduced in Mario 64 (which is used in 64, Sunshine, Galaxy 1 and 2, and largely Odyssey, I know people group Galaxy with 3D World these days because of "linearity" or whatever but that's just a broad level-design philosophy thing, I'm talking core mechanics and moment-to-moment gameplay, in which case the Galaxies are way more like 64 in nearly every way) is a completely different gameplay system entirely that's a lot more grounded in...realism, I guess you could say? Not necessarily "realism" artistically but like, things don't follow the grid system but rather have more natural-looking and organic terrain and simulate a more "realistic-esque" world mechanically. They're not trying to replicate the 2D Mario formula at all (Galaxy 2 tries to mimic some surface-level 2D Mario things but it's like how, say, Sonic Heroes tries to mimic Classic Sonic games in some ways, it's still fundamentally very different in gameplay), whereas 3D Land and World ARE and thus inherit all those blocky aspects and such because it's just fundamental to the 2D Super Mario Bros. system. AstroBot is more in line with the Mario 64/Galaxy gameplay system in being a more grounded and "natural" platformer, rather than the 3D World formula, and thus it feels more organic because of it.

    • @onlywiigame.
      @onlywiigame. 20 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Astro bot is nowhere near Mario galaxy or 3d world, Astrobot is just a generic platformer that tried to copy Mario galaxy and failed miserably, the art style is generic, the level design is nothing crazy, the dual sense features were more or less the same from the demo, and the movement is basic and not complex at all, there’s a reason this game has barely sold any copies

    I really wanted to like this game but it's far far from perfect and i ended up selling it after putting around 10 hours in it. The controls are just clunky and you often miss jumps and die because of the controls. Because it's not 3d and it's not 2 , it's somewhere in the middle.

      @ well it's still a fun game obviously, it's just that some levels ruined it for me, and I lost interest over time. I actually prefer the "tigher" controls of the 2D marios like Mario Wonders or of the 3D mario like Mario Odyssey. I don't like when it's "somewhere" in the middle, it's like this game doesn't really know what it wants to be
