I love Bosnia and all it’s differences, I am Serbian and I miss the country I was born, I still feel that most of the normal people lost a lot. But my Yugoslavia, Jugoslavija is still beautiful, notwithstanding our tragic history, and in my case was my youth , I was 21 when all this nightmare started and I wish that will never happen again to us and als o to others.

My friend came from Croatia in the 90s. She was 18 and didn't speak English. She left her family behind and came to a complete unknown to find a safe place to begin a life where she could safely raise children and have freedom. She's an amazing woman, wife and mother. But she missed her home and her family which couldn't leave there. She always said the beauty of her country is incredible.

What a wonderful video, as they all are. Here in St. Louis, we have the largest Bosnian population outside of Bosnia. Many refugees came in the early 90s. They are amazing resilient people, some of the hardest working I've ever known. We have many coworkers & friends who are Bosnian so have heard many stories but because they escaped the war with almost nothing, no photos. It's been wonderful for us to see the beautiful country through your videos!

Was on a cruise in 1995, and our waiter was from Bosnia. He spoke of the war, his wife had just had a baby and he could only see her sporadically. Cruise ship was the only job he could get to support them. We gave him a baby present for their newborn and he was very emotional. Such a beautiful country to have endured a tragic war.

It does not matter what religion, what color, what gender, at the core we are all the same. We all want the same things. We wake, get up, eat, take care of our children and our homes, go to work, and dream of good things. You may hear me or others say this but until you travel beyond your backyard it is difficult to feel it. There is nothing like finding a friend from a completely different culture and exchanging thoughts. To me this is not politics. It's what life is all about. We have so much more in common than our differences and I thank you guys for not focusing on the differences as they have very little importance and make no difference. Thank you again for taking us along on your fantastic and magical journey. (PS. Editing to say you never bore me Snow. Not ever.)

I've been to 65 countries and it's hard to find people to talk to about some of the most memorable places I've been. I've never heard anyone talk about Mostar, but I remember walking through the streets and taking pictures every 5 minutes. It felt like I time traveled and was in a modern day war that just ended. The color of the water and architecture mixed in with the raw emotions in the political graffiti, and the people, make it a special place that most people have never heard of.

I was in Mostar in 1987 or 1988 before the war. There were no shops selling things. There weren't many people walking around.
The bridge was *SO* slippery!! I had smooth soled sandals on and had to cling to the sides and still my feet slid back. I was on the bridge before it was blown up and wondered if it would still be slippery after the rebuild - the reconstruction is faithful to the past :)

Watching you both put out positivity and receiving positivity in return, is the foundation, in my mind, of your channel. To be positive is a form of respect. I believe your subscribers are 'birds of a feather', meaning we are all here because we care about you both and we love to learn. There are so many of us who are unable to travel but we have not lost out because we travel with you. I think you will find that where ever you go, you can count on us to be respectful. What a beautiful country.
Some added unimportant info: When you said , 'dervish' my ears perked up. Around 40 years ago, I had hit a very dark time. Throughout my life, when I need them the most somehow books and dogs find their way to me. Both have kept me alive. Rumi was a 13th century Persian poet, mystic who is the founder of the whirling dervishes. He was part of the Mevlevi order of Sufis originally from Konya, Turkey. His writings helped keep me alive. There is a level of beauty for our eyes and a level beauty for our souls. Dervishes had both. ❤

Thank you so much for the history of the Mostar bridge. I have a beautiful, painted picture of the original bridge and an updated picture in the same frame. My parents visited Yugoslavia about '97, before the war. My father walked on the bridge, a special memory for me. My mother ran trips for the retired educators in our county (USA). They enjoyed the countries so much and always said how warm and wonderful the people were. It's so nice to see that they have recovered and rebuilt so beautifully. One thing ❤ the young boys used to jump from the bridge, do they do that anymore? Thank you again!

That’s a wonderful idea…to use these amazing videos as part of your history/geography lessons. What a perfect way to show children how beautiful the world is and how we are all much more alike than ever different! We are never too old or too young for these amazing lessons.🤗🩷🙏

I can’t believe it! That’s the very campsite in Mostar that we used in 2021, and thanks Snow and Curt for the wonderful commentary. Our son had a boy from Bosnia called Moran Barric at Engelfield Primary School U.K. during the conflict.

What a beautiful story you have shared. The history we lived through so far away being in Canada and could only pray for the people and peace to come and the rebuilding of those countries.

Fabulous - we stayed at Autocamp Blajaj last year. Enjoyed seeing that again. My wife swam in that river. Took a hot hike up to the castle and visited the Dervish house. Good memories!

What a beautiful place! Thank you for sharing it with us.
I remember the war and the horrible human toll. You covered it with great sensitivity. And the region helps us to remember that war (hopefully) ends and peace and beauty can return.

So amazed at the beauty of these countries and the fortitude of the people to come back from the devastation of wars! I always appreciate how respectful you are in every country you visit and how well you represent their culture to the world. It looks like the kitties are enjoying Europe as well, I love to go on their walks too! Safe travels, 🥂to your health!💕🇨🇦
