On many gravestones you can see a man with an open hand. This is traditional greeting from Bosniaks. An open hand shows that you are welcoming and that he has nothing to hide! Open hand shows you that... Furthermore, Bosniaks have had their own church, which has always been under attack from the Catholic West as well as the Orthodox East. It is very interesting because to this day such a kind of belief does not exist anywhere in the world... Thank you for your great report and hope that you will visit my homeland again, my beautiful Bosnia and Herzegovina...
Late spring, as well as autumn, would be very nice to visit to see the beautiful differences in colors that nature gives on those beautiful Bosnian mountains. the diversity of the plant world also gives a special tone to all of this.. Nature cleans the air, many rivers, streams, small rivers. I hope you enjoyed it anyway and I hope you will visit Bosnia again... Thank you for presenting our homeland and for having nice experiences. I hope that upon your return you will experience even more beautiful and better events that you will not forget :))) From a Bosnian All the best and God bless you, amen!
There are very few True blue flowers in the world. The beautiful Star-shaped flowers you found on your pre-lunch hike are the rare Bosnian Gentian. What an incredible find 😍😍😍😍😍.
I'm English and remember watching the Olympics in Sarajevo. The famous ice dancing couple from England Torvill and Dean won the Gold Medal dancing to the music Bolero. I still watch that dance on TH-cam so a big thank you for showing the beautiful country side of Bosnia.
I know this will sound crazy but back when they were at war, whenever I heard the word 'Sarajevo' I used to feel like I had been there before. I felt like I wanted to go back, like it was home. I've never been there. Now that I see it, I do love it. Maybe it was my home. Who knows. Thank you.
How cool to sit in my chair in North Carolina and have you take me all around the world. We truly live on an amazing planet and I am finding out there are parts of this world that we never knew existed! All to be revealed in the next several years. So exciting! thanks guys!
A couple of years ago we drove our van to that remote village. The highest and remotest village in Bosnia Herzegovina. We stopped over night there. Stunning views.
Such an amazingly beautiful part of the world n I love that y'all tell the history that village that survived is just gorgeous I love that type of living it's pure untouched traditional way of life just a beautiful way of life thank you for sharing stay safe❤
What a fascinating and beautiful place! It was nice of Tim to show you around. He's so knowledgeable. Oh yes, and by the way, I hope you saved the kitties some food, the little beggars!❤😸😿😽💕
A village perched high above the treeline is picturesque, but what a hard life those people have! Tim's historical background info is so illuminating ... just proves that religion is not immutable. It changes to accommodate peoples' needs at the time, that's what keeps it healthy and alive. Wonderful, thanks for taking us along.
Most people in those villages actually don't live there on a permanent basis. Many live in the cities and move to these villages during certain periods of the year to escape the busy city lives and climate. That's the case with many villages in post-war Bosnia.
Can I just say Wow, the scenery is something off the jigsaw puzzles we put together as a kid, or something you would see in the National Geographic magazine.
Wow the views are absolutely stunning. I remember watching the 1984 Olympics and seeing the village of Sarajevo and thinking what a beautiful winter wonderland it was. It was so sad when the war there broke out and so many died. I'm glad peace has returned to the region. Tim and his friend are encyclopedia's of knowledge and so nice. The ancient stones reminded me of Stonehenge in England.
Loved to see the Blue Crocus blooming wild on your trail and always fun to see the Lamb Jam with all the new born in toe. Thank you for another stunning video. ❤
Majestically beautiful. Thank you Snow, Curt and friends. I just don’t understand why more people aren’t watching these videos and giving it a THUMBS UP. It’s like another version of National Geographic.
What a beautiful trip for Snow. I followed the Bosnia war in the 90s. I had several good friends that I met when I was there who became very good friends. One of the families came to America during that time and stayed in Arizona, where I lived at the time. They still live, and I moved to NM. I sent the link to them. What a wonderful friend you have. This was so special to me today. Be blessed in all your travels ahead.
Hey Snow & Curt, this is your former O neighbor. I found your channel a while back & I am so glad you guys got to take this journey & are living your best life! Thanks for taking me on your adventures!
You are two of the most fortunate people on earth, your personal tour guide, Tim, is a goldmine! It is so special to have someone who can emphasize the importance of things you may come across and give you perspective, Bosnia is spectacularly beautiful, breathtaking actually! That coffee at Tim’s friend’s place, looked delicious! I envy your wonderful experiences but I am blessed to travel vicariously with you! Thank you and you look radiant Snow! Safe travels!💕🇨🇦
👍🤩💝Fantastic video. I’m the same type of guide for friends as Tim & Manever (I’m sure I didn’t spell his name correctly). I love sharing history info & places that friends probably would have overlooked. The views were awesome. Thanks for sharing. Safe travels. 🙏💝
The Elder flower, I have dipped in batter and fried living here in Tennessee. The juice from the flower sounds good. The black Elderberries are now used as a cold and flu medicinal known by the name “Sambucol”.
Snow, what a trooper you are. I know you have pain, you get tired and winded and yet you keep going. I know, because I have similar health issues. I love the amazing adventures you and Curt share with us and your happy giggles! Life throws us curveballs, I admire the way you and Curt have shared yours and how you just keep on truckin'. Thanks and God bless you both!
What spectacular mountains. How fortunate you were to have Tim, the perfect guide! I love seeing the sheep. The history was so interesting. Hard to imagine what the people in this country have been through.
I have really loved all your travels in Albania! It is beautiful and peaceful there. You can go from gorgeous beaches to beautiful mountain tops!! I have to say, I might like to live there! ♥️☮️🙏🏻🌈🐈⬛🐈
Absolutely epic scenery in Bosnia and such a fabulous personal tour ye both got Snow and Curt. The mountains and villages were beautiful along with the great music. Thank you
👍🤩💝 💡Also…..@ 14:52 “largest *karst* field in the world” 💡Karst is a topography formed from the dissolution of soluble carbonate rocks such as limestone, dolomite, and gypsum. The word polje literally means 'field', whereas in English polje specifically refers to a karst plain or karst field. @ 18:21 / 18:26 Koliba means shepherd's hut, cabin, cottage, hut
Thanks to Tim for taking you on this excellent excursion that even Snow could manage. The mountain views are spectacular! I felt the peace and wonder Snow pointed out as they were leaving. I will watch this video again just to take in the beauty. One more fabulous day to share with us. You guys ROCK!
I know its silly, but from the bottom of my heart, thank you for showing me this part of Europa. When I tell people I dont wanna go to Thailand, I wanna see Europa first, they just dont laugh and wonder what am I thinking. THIS IS WHAT I am thinking guys!
Well, I enjoyed that..a bit of history about graves (I did a Masters in Heritage Mangement and my thesis was a Dark Heritage trail that included graveyards etc) so will defo check on Tims trail! some amazing views and a homely coffee with someones old friends. Just perfect..never mind the spinich and cheese pie..yum..
The views are absolutely stunning, sometimes I have to look away because I'm afraid of heights, or at least I used to be , even though it's on a video. After going up a bald volcano (no vegetation, no guard rails ) in the Canary Islands, I could probably do almost anything now.
What a gorgeous region, and how fortunate you were to be given a private, customized tour. So sad that they endured the horrors of war. It's such a shameful waste when we can't live together in peace. Thank you so much for sharing all you can of your wonder-filled journey through beautiful areas that I would otherwise never see. Safe travels. Much love from Maine.

What a beautiful place and that food looked delicious
Because of the higher elevation and the greenery it reminds me of Aspen Colorado and it's outskirts. It's very beautiful. ❤
I love the landscape. It is beautiful. I love Elderflower! I am enjoying your adventurous ride.
There are very few True blue flowers in the world. The beautiful Star-shaped flowers you found on your pre-lunch hike are the rare Bosnian Gentian. What an incredible find 😍😍😍😍😍.

I felt the same way the day I arrived in Sarajevo. It’s a special place
Maybe a past life regression is where you’ll find the answer!
I always had a connection to Sweden. Castles, hills. Did my family history, and found out our family came Sweden.
How cool to sit in my chair in North Carolina and have you take me all around the world. We truly live on an amazing planet and I am finding out there are parts of this world that we never knew existed! All to be revealed in the next several years. So exciting! thanks guys!
What a beautiful place. ❤
Again showing us the real - ie not the media made - version of a country. Loved learning about Bosnia and its history
I had no idea Bosnia was so beautiful and interesting. I knew a little about the war from the news but not much. Loved this tour very much
A couple of years ago we drove our van to that remote village. The highest and remotest village in Bosnia Herzegovina. We stopped over night there. Stunning views.
Beautiful part of the World. Thanks for sharing. Dear Snow, look after your heart ❤️
So lovely! Imagine that for your back yard. You're very fortunate to have a friend like Tim!

I was in Bosnia in June of 2001. It was beautiful and the people so thankful to the US.

On our farm I was raised on, we raised the black faced Hampshire sheep.
We lived in central Pennsylvania.
Nice to see them again.
Absolutely stunning Snow & Kurt, thank you for taking us along & showing this beautiful part of Bosnia. Safe travels 😊😊❤❤
Can I just say Wow, the scenery is something off the jigsaw puzzles we put together as a kid, or something you would see in the National Geographic magazine.
Is Curt's friend actually Tim Clancy? I loved his work on promoting tourism in Bosnia. He's kind of famous in our country :) Such a small world!
Big shout out to Tim. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.

Absolutely stunning landscapes. Very cool.
Sarajevo is nice I worked there in the 90’, but my favourite is ❤ Belgrade.❤ is magical.
