WOW! The feedback on our van has been amazing! We love all of the comments. We are getting asked A LOT about van cost and van plans, so here are those answers: 1) We just hired someone to draw up van plans for our van, they will be available in 30 days or so, so stay tuned... we will announce when they are ready on TH-cam, so make sure you subscribe. 2) It was a VERY hectic time when we were building our van... working on our house to get it ready to sell, working full time jobs, preparing to retire from those jobs, selling our home, building the van on weekends, and selling everything we own... and all on a deadline! So, we did not track the cost of our build as well as we should have... did not even do a great job of keeping receipts. But, we are going to back up and gather as much data as we can and do a video to let you guys know what it cost to build our van! Hope that helps!! 3) For other questions we are getting asked a lot, we will be putting together a Van Tour Q&A Video in the next week or two to answer all of those for you! This just came up on my feed. I've been viewing and researching van builds for two years now and I believe this is the best, most thought out, functional, and well designed build of the many , many hundreds of van builds I have viewed. Fantastic!
The air circulation 🎉 is fabulous. Roof fans, screen door, screen flaps at the back. So necessary when you’re living in there, steamy cooking, humid showering. LOVE IT.
@@SuperTruthful I dont understand how those toilets work. Do they have holding tanks like RVs where you dump it at the dump/flush stations at campgrounds?
@@kaylaschregardus4062 Compost toilets have trays at the bottom that catches the waste. The trays usually have some wood chips or cat litter to avoid the smell and absorb the moisture. You can empty the remains in a trash bag and empty into a public waste bin/ rest room or at a campsite...no, it's not a holding tank. I hope that helped.

@@olisk-jy9rz Have you seen the wiring in the diesel pushers? They are ALL a fargin nightmare! Crimp connectors, improper routing, etc. One would think they could do better for 200-600k!
One of the main drawbacks of van life to me is the lack of comfort in most vans that I have seen. I mean in terms of a couch or comfy chair. So, I really love the couch you have made. It looks comfortable and I think I could live in that! I also love the division of space, the hall shower, and that screen door. Very creative and very well done!
I've seen a lot of videos and I can read people really well it's truly about the woman being happy it takes so much stress off the man because men don't need a lot to be happy and you seem like you're really happy which allows him to live a stress free life😊

What amazes me is the shower. I have seen a lot with a shower but usually is a tiny box.. This one is the most clever idea! Wow! Awesome. If i build a van one day i will definitely use some of your ideas!

yeah i was thinking it's the best build ever as soon as they reached the bathroom, but not only for that. I am afraid this conversion must have been very expensive though, i am looking forward to watching the cost video coming soon. But anyway that's up to each person, and in their case they are making a great use of the investment done.

WOW!!! I am a mechanical engineer and retired submariner and I am SOOOO jealous! 😯 Almost every time I was thinking, “well, I would have ___.” And then you would have it! (Even the cats! 😺😸) I also saw some beautiful homey accents that you didn’t even touch on, like those planters in the kitchen. Well done! You two are going to have some really good times I hope!❤️

I’ve seen many of these videos and many different van builds and this thing BY FAR is the nicest and most practical build I’ve seen! Both with the way you mapped the interior and with your exterior stuff like water system, etc. absolutely awesome!

I’ve been casually watching van builds for a few years now to seriously watching them the last few weeks. From the Class B RV made vans to all the custom van companies I finally was able to tell my husband this was my favorite and I could see myself living in it. From the incredible shower with the recirculating water to the laundry drop shoot, I love the whole thing. Incredible work, you two. Thanks for sharing it with us.

The bathroom was already killer. You wonder how they could do anything even more creative than that, and then boom! Screen door. It all seems so obvious NOW. Thank goodness for this build. This van has so many things you didn't even know you'd want in a camper build. I feel like every company that steals this design owes them money for every van they sell.
This is the best van I've seen so far because it has everything! I love the full solar with good battery backup, along with a real shower and toilet setup. When I watch TH-cam van tours without toilets or showers, I stop watching because they're simply not viable or practical. Yours definitely IS! I love it.
Crazy thought, but, do you think it would be possible to incorporate a small deep bath in a van your size? If I lived full time in a van home, a bath is a 'must have!' I don't understand the water... how do you store and heat for long showers .. is it all run on your solar panels? I LOVEEE your van home!! 💕 Well done and ohh enjoy the next decade!!

Ive watched every van video I could find for the last 5 years and this is easily the overall winner for full time living....I also used your instruction for the recirculating shower and am using it currently....Every van build I saw I thought was just not functional enough for me full time so I built a much bigger truck, if I had seen your van before I pulled the trigger on mine I may have reconsidered.... :)
Hi I am waiting n looking forward to joining the van life is the Mercedes the best option because of its size I would like to have the kids sleep over if they ever want to so thts my concern. They just have sleep space for them
@@SnowAndCurt Only used it a few weeks and now I have a faulty UV sterilizer....My luck with Ebay sellers has not been good, many faulty products and sellers who disappear when you start having problems......I will win in the end though.
Recirculating shower...? Ooh. That was something I wanted. Actually, give me a full tub and a water heater and I'm there. I hate wasting water as it is. If I could recirculating the tub water and filter it, I definitely would. If it were cost efficient. I wish Mercedes was affordable. I know they're solid, but the other downside is parts are very expensive. I didn't find the driver's seats in most comfy at the RV show. And hopefully you'll find a guy who knows Mercedes when it breaks down.

It is FANTASTIC to see fat and older vanlifers with their amazing builds. It seems like the only people who make videos about their vans are fitness instructors and rock climbers. As if vanlife is ONLY for young, fit, athletes who've never woken up with a sore back in their lives. I ADORE this design, and the ingenuity with the double squeegee doors for the shower is utterly genius. It's clear, from the genius shower and the proper-sized refridgerator, that this isn't a van made to live out of, to only be driven between urban cities, this is a van made to be lived IN, to be capable of preparing for and taking you wherever you want.

This design is such a breath of fresh air.. so many people have the same layout the shower soon as you walk in the door. I don't want that, I love what you guys have done with your home on wheels, and I've often wondered why so many van conversation look the same, why not try something new. Your home on Wheels is fabulous it's like a real home, because in a real home you don't walk into somebody's home and see their shower and their toilet it's in the back and I love the way you guys did that.. love it love it love it safe travels💗

Best van conversion I’ve seen on TH-cam BY A LONG SHOT. The question I come out with is, how do the roof fans work if the entire roof seems to be covered with the solar panels? How do you pull air in or put air out if it’s covered up there?
The roof box is not air or water tight... it is designed to allow enough sir for the fans... And the height of the box is just enough for the fans to open. They work perfect with the box open or closed! Thanks for the kind words!
I joined your TH-cam channel later on when you were already in South America, so I never saw this van tour, I really enjoyed this video where you went back in time and gave this tour. I always wondered why you liked your "home" so much, even though there isn't much room inside, but now I see why you like it as much as you do. It is all customed designed and so well thought out. I see how you can live comfortably and safely when you have everything so well constructed. Thank you for this video.
You know how you see comments declaring this or that was the best built they’ve ever seen? Usually, I just skim over those because in all honesty, I just wasn’t able to see what they did. It’s natural for all of us to do this in someway or another. No big deal, right? Right. So, when I do the same and declare for the first time ever, this is the best darn van build I’ve ever seen, and more than likely a contender in the top five of all of the builds no matter their carriage. I’m serious. This van is simply amazing and mouth dropping. Their shower, OMG! Where do you even start? Okay, let’s just say it’s far better than the one I have at home. I’ve never been to keen on vans for the simple reason that I’ve always felt I would need more leg room to stretch out, but not on this one, and I can’t really explain why, except that each of their areas are better than I’ve seen anywhere else (JMO). The only thing I hadn’t been too crazy about was how close the litter box was next to the bed. Now, get this, I don’t even own a cat, so how would I even know anyways? Plus, their heads are on the far side of the van, so it probably wouldn’t even bother than anyways. They’re like mikes apart! The only thing I would add would probably be two of those hammock chairs to set up on each of the garage doors. And only because I had just seen this last week on another person’s van. And hey, this adorable and kind couple may not even be into those kind of chairs. It’s just something I would add for me. I love swinging chairs like that. Whee! Hey, do you know what the caterpillar said on the turtle’s back? Wheeeeee!! Sorry, couldn’t help myself. And anyways, it’s about the only kid-friendly joke I can remember. Company's that build RVs have solved problems like rooms years ago. I guess it's about the crazy price but surprised more people don't watch those videos and ones taken at RV shows. Kurt and Snow have a nice sense of visual design. 😎
I recently saw a van where the shower and toilet is at the back of the van, so is separated from kitchen, living area. The bathroom faces the back. There's a distint separation from the rest of the living, kitchen space. But this van is pretty cool too.

Using the shower/bathroom as a hall/dining room is GENIUS. Seriously, it's incredible how much you fit in this van without it feeling too crowded.

I would have to agree, this is one of the best builds that maximizes every single living space. The recirculating shower should be the new standard too!
yeah i was thinking it's the best build ever as soon as they reached the bathroom, but not only for that. I am afraid this conversion must have been very expensive though, i am looking forward to watching the cost video coming soon. But anyway that's up to each person, and in their case they are making a great use of the investment done.

After watching hundreds of van tours this has got to be THE NICEST van I’ve seen inside! It doesn’t look like a van once you’re inside, what a clever use of the space and I just love how you’ve done the shower 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😍❤️

I’ve seen many of these videos and many different van builds and this thing BY FAR is the nicest and most practical build I’ve seen! Both with the way you mapped the interior and with your exterior stuff like water system, etc. absolutely awesome!

Because it's a car, you'll likely never get what you paid for it. Not even close. Most likely. But no matter if you get as much as possible out of it.
I’ve been casually watching van builds for a few years now to seriously watching them the last few weeks. From the Class B RV made vans to all the custom van companies I finally was able to tell my husband this was my favorite and I could see myself living in it.
From the incredible shower with the recirculating water to the laundry drop shoot, I love the whole thing.

The bathroom was already killer. You wonder how they could do anything even more creative than that, and then boom! Screen door. It all seems so obvious NOW. Thank goodness for this build. This van has so many things you didn't even know you'd want in a camper build. I feel like every company that steals this design owes them money for every van they sell.

This is the best van I've seen so far because it has everything! I love the full solar with good battery backup, along with a real shower and toilet setup. When I watch TH-cam van tours without toilets or showers, I stop watching because they're simply not viable or practical. Yours definitely IS! I love it.

Have a look at Greg Virgoe. He has made a great and very detailed series of his van build.
Ive watched every van video I could find for the last 5 years and this is easily the overall winner for full time living....I also used your instruction for the recirculating shower and am using it currently....Every van build I saw I thought was just not functional enough for me full time so I built a much bigger truck, if I had seen your van before I pulled the trigger on mine I may have reconsidered.... :)

Hi I am waiting n looking forward to joining the van life is the Mercedes the best option because of its size I would like to have the kids sleep over if they ever want to so thts my concern. They just have sleep space for them
We chose the Mercedes sprinter 170 extended because it was the biggest available!
@@SnowAndCurt Only used it a few weeks and now I have a faulty UV sterilizer....My luck with Ebay sellers has not been good, many faulty products and sellers who disappear when you start having problems......I will win in the end though.
Recirculating shower...? Ooh. That was something I wanted. Actually, give me a full tub and a water heater and I'm there. I hate wasting water as it is. If I could recirculating the tub water and filter it, I definitely would. If it were cost efficient.
I wish Mercedes was affordable. I know they're solid, but the other downside is parts are very expensive. I didn't find the driver's seats in most comfy at the RV show. And hopefully you'll find a guy who knows Mercedes when it breaks down.
The full width bathroom is unique and innovative. Highly functional and it opens up the space unlike a cramped bathroom closet.

It is FANTASTIC to see fat and older vanlifers with their amazing builds. It seems like the only people who make videos about their vans are fitness instructors and rock climbers. As if vanlife is ONLY for young, fit, athletes who've never woken up with a sore back in their lives. I ADORE this design, and the ingenuity with the double squeegee doors for the shower is utterly genius. It's clear, from the genius shower and the proper-sized refridgerator, that this isn't a van made to live out of, to only be driven between urban cities, this is a van made to be lived IN, to be capable of preparing for and taking you wherever you want.

This design is such a breath of fresh air.. so many people have the same layout the shower soon as you walk in the door. I don't want that, I love what you guys have done with your home on wheels, and I've often wondered why so many van conversation look the same, why not try something new. Your home on Wheels is fabulous it's like a real home, because in a real home you don't walk into somebody's home and see their shower and their toilet it's in the back and I love the way you guys did that.. love it love it love it safe travels💗

The question I come out with is, how do the roof fans work if the entire roof seems to be covered with the solar panels? How do you pull air in or put air out if it’s covered up there?
The roof box is not air or water tight... it is designed to allow enough sir for the fans... And the height of the box is just enough for the fans to open. They work perfect with the box open or closed! Thanks for the kind words!

I joined your TH-cam channel later on when you were already in South America, so I never saw this van tour, I really enjoyed this video where you went back in time and gave this tour. I always wondered why you liked your "home" so much, even though there isn't much room inside, but now I see why you like it as much as you do. It is all customed designed and so well thought out. I see how you can live comfortably and safely when you have everything so well constructed. Thank you for this video.
You know how you see comments declaring this or that was the best built they’ve ever seen? Usually, I just skim over those because in all honesty, I just wasn’t able to see what they did. It’s natural for all of us to do this in someway or another. No big deal, right? Right. So, when I do the same and declare for the first time ever, this is the best darn van build I’ve ever seen, and more than likely a contender in the top five of all of the builds no matter their carriage. I’m serious. This van is simply amazing and mouth dropping. Their shower, OMG! Where do you even start? Okay, let’s just say it’s far better than the one I have at home.
I’ve never been to keen on vans for the simple reason that I’ve always felt I would need more leg room to stretch out, but not on this one, and I can’t really explain why, except that each of their areas are better than I’ve seen anywhere else (JMO). The only thing I hadn’t been too crazy about was how close the litter box was next to the bed. Now, get this, I don’t even own a cat, so how would I even know anyways? Plus, their heads are on the far side of the van, so it probably wouldn’t even bother than anyways. They’re like mikes apart! The only thing I would add would probably be two of those hammock chairs to set up on each of the garage doors. And only because I had just seen this last week on another person’s van. And hey, this adorable and kind couple may not even be into those kind of chairs. It’s just something I would add for me. I love swinging chairs like that. Whee!

Company's that build RVs have solved problems like rooms years ago. I guess it's about the crazy price but surprised more people don't watch those videos and ones taken at RV shows.

I recently saw a van where the shower and toilet is at the back of the van, so is separated from kitchen, living area. The bathroom faces the back. There's a distint separation from the rest of the living, kitchen space.
But this van is pretty cool too.
