Just a head's up on park hopping - you can enter either park after 11 am if you haven't entered either park yet regardless of which park you made your reservation. From the Disneyland website: After 11:00 AM, if you have not entered any park yet, you may enter either park (despite what you designated for your first park on your park reservation). 🙂
I was going to say that as well. It seems to be a common misconception. I assume it was that way at WDW, but not so at Disneyland. In fact, if you “tag in” at one park if you try to enter the other less than 1/2 hour (maybe more, can’t say exactly how long” later they will stop you at the entrance gate and need to get supervisor approval before they let you in. This is apparently an anti-fraud thing.
Does that mean if I scheduled Disney for that day, I can go into CA after 11 even if I didn't pick it for that day? I may be wording this weird as i haven't been to Disneyland in 20 something years. I'm planning to go for my 10 year wedding anniversary in December!
Honestly, LGB AKA Long Beach is way better to fly into than SNA AKA John Wayne. John Wayne has crazy noise ordinance restrictions and if flights get canceled during the day and push back, many flights just end up getting canceled all together because they are not allowed to leave after a certain time without the airlines receiving massive fines from the city/county. My cousin is a pilot and flies to SNA often and he highly discourages his friends and family from flying there. That said, it's still better than LAX.
Some of the Main Street vehicles do run at night….I was surprised as well! Those Good Neighbor Hotels and motels are great, but when you call for that reservation, and if you are driving in, ask about the over night parking fees. The chicken at the Plaza Inn is amazing. The pieces are big and so full of flavor. Shhhh….the ticket purchases for Oogie Boogie begin sometime mid June. They sell out super fast. I am a former cast member. I have also been visiting Disneyland since I was 4, which was 61 3/4 years ago. I know the park like the back of my hand (what does that even mean)? Thank you so much for, AJ.
Main st vehicles resume later at night, also if you’re arriving after 11am you can scan into either park if you have park hopper. No need to scan into reserved park first. My tip, AVOID going to the parks on Mondays!!

You forgot to mention one of the BEST PERKS of Genie+ at Disneyland is it includes ALL PhotoPass Photos, not just the rides. Even if you just buy 1 @ $30 a day, its way cheaper than Disney World's Memory Maker. Then you add the fact it includes multiple rides, it's a great value! I was super disappointed Disney World's Genie+ didn't include that and they wanted $75 a day for cast member taken photos. I get they'll yake them for free with your phone, but you don't get any special photos when using your phone.
Strangely, some of the hotels on Harbor Blvd. are actually closer to the entrances of the parks than the Disneyland Hotel or Pixar Hotel. (And a lot cheaper.)
Yay! I am a WDW girlie but planning my first “adult” trip to Disneyland-it is like a whole new world. Luckily we are only doing 1-2 nights, and don’t care about rides that much - but still daunting. Going with my non-Disney friend that thinks I am a Disney expert - but I am Disneyland newbie. Gah!
I’ve been to Disneyland a couple times and I love it! I promise it’s not any more stressful than Disney World, I actually found it LESS stressful. Especially if you stay in a Disneyland Resort. Also don’t try to fit everything in this one trip. Have fun! 🎉
We always stop by Boudin Bakery (pronounced “boo-deen” by the company) to pick up a big Mickey shaped bread or holiday shaped bread to take home. (Vampire Mickey was a hit) So good.
The pronunciation in the video is completely wrong. You are correct - Boudin is definitely pronounced “boo-deen.” Signed, a San Francisco native with Boudin locations all over the city. (Disneyland is the only one where you can see the bread being made, though.)
My biggest tip, if you have 3 or more days... Do 1/2 of Disneyland a day. We always go to Adventureland, Frontierland, NOS & Critter Country on day 1, DCA on day 2 and Fantasyland, Tomorrowland & ToonTown on day 3. You Can split however you want (we do it our way because Wednesday is a less busy day for the busiest lands). This alleviates SO MUCH stress as you're only thinking about a smaller amount of rides & a little bit of a longer wait time isn't as horrible a thought. You also save a toooooon of energy racing from one attraction to another on the other side of the park and then back again chasing possible shorter wait times. We always go 5 days, so we get a second DCA day that usually includes a sleep in day and pop out to Trader Sams for dinner & drinks day. We haven't gotten to go since 2018 thanks to "The Bug" & work/life events & won't be going till next Feb (Can't miss the HM), so we will be spending 1/2 of the last day in Batuu. I'm not sure how much time anyone else would need, but it would easily tack on to either one of the Disneyland days. Also... RE: Inside Sleeping Beauty Castle... If you happen to be one of the two ladies in there alone with another lady (that being me) and, as you passed my husband at the bottom of the steps on the way out... yes, that man was mine, we had a great laugh at you passing the blame on to me for having been the one passing the copious amount of wind. Our lips are sealed & you shall forever be protected. 🤐🤣🤣🤣
Late night events is worth the cost, even in my case where I could not go during day hours (was at a nearby conference), so late night was my only decent choice. Rather than spend time hunting down their food specials and photo opportunities, I went for the rides. Many with no wait, and the longest was 20 minutes for Space Mountain. I got to experience everything I wanted, except Rise of the Resistance that I learned too late that they shut down early.
There’s another airport! Don’t forget to look at Long Beach (LGB) Have found it’s often much less expensive to fly into LGB and pay for a maybe 10 or 15 minute longer Lyft, and still save $. Also it’s an even smaller & easier airport than SNA. Worth a look anyway.
Have to disagree about Genie+ not being worth it. Ive been 5 times since Covid at different times of year and every time the lightning lanes have saved me 3-5 hrs based on standby wait times.
Cast Member told us during afternoon in Hollywood Studios that Genie+ was probably not worth it. Waited over an hour for Slinky Dog Dash and decided am never doing that again. Genie+ is worth every penny.

Disneyland Genie plus isn't all or nothing. You can choose to purchase it only one day of your trip but it's the same as passholders, you just buy it the day after you're in the park.
Thank you so much for pointing out that there are many off-property locations that are within walking distance of the parks! When I go to Walt Disney World, I always stay on property. As a Disneyland local and pass holder for my whole life, it’s really surreal to watch a Disneyland tourism video from a Disney world-er’s perspective hahaha. But I love it 🎉
23:57 Be careful ordering all your food ahead of time during food festivals! They can and do run out of items and they’ll have to process a refund. I would say to order from 2 or 3 different booths ahead of time. People often underestimate how long the pick up lines take.

Thankyou for your channel which is a treasure trove and helping me so much plan the trip of a liftetime.
