  • I sit down with fellow grower and TH-camr, Tara from Wild Bird Farm to talk about her small scale U Pick and how she's been moving stems over her 4 year flower farming journey. I think you'll find this discussion particularly inspiring as Tara grows in a relatively small space but yet is able to pump out so many blooms!
You can check out Tara over at / @wildbirdfarm for her flower farming content!

    Good interview.
I'm planning a You-Pick for 2025 just gladiolus. Not wanting to step on anyone's toes. There is already a farm close by that does zinnia and sunflowers.
    Already sub to her channel.

I love your videos! I was wondering if you publish these as a podcast anywhere? I often listen to them while working like they are a podcast and would love to be able to turn off my screen while listening to you. Either way, keep up your amazing work, I am a fan!

Which kind of veronica you recommend for cutflowers?
Juli perennial: Solidago / Eupatorium maculatum ‘Atropurpureum’ / Liatris spicata 'Kobold' / Achillea filipendulina 'Cloth of Gold' / goosneck (Lysimachia clethroides).
This yeari'm trying the purple gooseneck(Lysimachia atropurpurea).

Its small scale. I purposely called it this because many people think they need acres.

this interview, again, is packed with good information and advice! I really enjoyed it, and it will help me a lot on this journey of trying to start my small flower business. thank you both! and for that reliable summer perennial,Tara, try Rudbeckia, lots species of them. 'Henry Eilers' is my fav, R. triloba grow crazy like many other species as well. Hope this helps! @wildbirdfarm
