  • Yup. It's a real thing. Summer has barely begun and many of us are already experiencing the summer slump. It happens in retail and wholesale land. It also happens in the retail industry OUTSIDE of flower farming so it's not just you!
In this episode, Jordon and I talk about what we're doing to overcome this slump. A part of it is foresight from prior experience that this happens. Jordon and I are doing some different and similar things even though we both sell retail & wholesale!
Note that this is on a SATURDAY instead of our usual Sunday. We hope to see you there!

If you can't make it, we will have this in our Live Archives and it will be on the "Blooming Profits" podcast which you can find on Apple, Spotify, Amazon, etc.
About Jordon: Jordon is entering into year 2 of flower farming and going big! She lives in Oklahoma, sells both retail and wholesale, and flower farms as a side hustle. If you want to learn more, you can follow her on Instagram @Jordonsflowerfarm and watch this interview for more information where we discussed her year 1 plans! • Interview: Jordon's Fl...

Hi Jessie and Jordon, I was not able to catch the live because I was doing the farmer’s market, but caught it today and SO glad to hear you are both doing roses! I am up to 108 this year ( I am small scale grower), and like you I read books, and the podcasts that are out there, but not a lot of info on growing garden roses for cut flower production especially in a humid Japanese beetle climate :) I Felt like I was soldiering on, on my own with them. I am trialing 3 per variety and searching for best performance in humid climate with black spot , and letting them take a break while the Japanese beetles are here. Only the strong will survive lol. Can’t wait to hear how it goes for you.

Hi there! No worries, we know that Lives aren't going to be the best timing for everyone and appreciate you tuning in after. We are also super thrilled that so many people like you are interested in or are already growing roses for cut flower production. I'm laughing because 108 is alot of roses (at least in my book). I'm going to start off with 5 of each variety, similar to you to test! Are you buying them wholesale at 3 per variety?
Hope you had a great market!

Thank you for recording this amazing discussion! I would love to connect with local flower farmers here in southern New England. I’ve reached out to several but often do not get a response or have only short interactions. Do you have any suggestions for making a more meaningful connection? Thank you for all of this wonderful business oriented content!
