  • Step into the colorful world of Emily von Trapp, a third-generation farmer cultivating over 200,000 specialty tulips and a variety of cut flowers on her family land in Waitsfield, Vermont. Growing up surrounded by gardens at the von Trapp Greenhouse, Emily turned her love of blooms into a thriving business, supplying local markets with her ‘Market Bouquets’ for over 20 years.
Emily’s expertise in year-round flower farming relies on a mix of soil-based and hydroponic tulip forcing techniques. By carefully selecting varieties, scheduling harvests, and designing efficient grow spaces, she ensures fresh blooms even through the winter months. Be inspired by her innovative techniques and passion for keeping flowers blooming, no matter the season.

I absolutely love these video clips! They are so inspiring. I am a year 3 flower farmer and proud student of The Tulip Workshop. I purchased a Farmers Friend tunnel out of pocket to invest in myself and it has fueled my growth and enabled me to stretch the season. Thank you for making affordable resources like these tunnels!

Who thinks she is part of the “Sound of Music” Van Trappe Family who settled in VT after leaving / escaping Europe as it showed in the sound of music.

It's true! It didn't make the cut in the film, but she shared with us that "Kurt" (whose real name was actually Werner von Trapp) was her grandfather. :)

Community supported agriculture. People subscribe for weekly pick ups (or bi weekly or whatever the farm is offering) and they prepay for the future service, which allows the farmer to prepay for the crop they have to plant.
