Rhiannon Giddens - 'Duncan and Jimmy' (Perth, 2015)

A stunning performance by Rhiannon Giddens at the opening night of the Southern Fried Festival, Perth Concert Hall, Scotland in July 2015.
'Duncan and Jimmy' was previously recorded by Giddens as part of the New Basement Tapes - Lost on the River, where T-Bone Burnett gathered some amazing musicians for two weeks to create music using a treasure trove of long-lost lyrics handwritten by Bob Dylan in 1967 during the period that generated the recording of the legendary Basement Tapes.

I've had the pleasure of seeing her with the Chocolate Drops here in Chicago on numerous occasions. She is an amazing performer! If you ever get the chance, do go! A classically trained violinist and singer - she could play with symphonies or sing in the opera. Just amazing!

angela tracey hi Angela!!! I’ve only known of her since THE BASEMENT TAPES!!!! So, you can probably find the whole “ live” - on here or HULU or NETFLIX, the rockumentary, with MARCUS MUMFORD ( he’s the reason I initially discovered Rhiannon) Elvis Costello, a bit of Johnny Depp... and so many other talents!!! It’s fascinating to watch her develop full songs from just raw lyrics, written by Bob Dylan, during his absent from the scene period......... so glad you found her!!!
