My guess is having both the TRX and Raptor R will be best for YT videos because you’ll be able to constantly create comparison videos of the two. Not many TH-camrs have the top two trucks available to constantly make videos on.

I had Charger Scat Pack Widebody and same feelings. Outstanding sound, just couldn't be better (maybe with supercharger) but also I hated driving it. Jerky, jumpy on bumps, felt heavy and annoying. Traded it in for Kia Stinger GT2 AWD (I prefer sedans boyz) and feels so much better for daily driving. Stable as heck, faster on the red light even lacking 100hp! And has tons more features. Plus, its not the number one stolen vehicle in Michigan 😮💨

Auto hold feature in the Raptor R has to be used to get the best launch off the line. The first reviewers didn't know about this feature when they raced the TRX.

Mike, I think making an overall comparison video between your current Raptor and TRX would be a good idea. Yes the TRX is faster but getting an idea of what that margin actually is would be interesting nonetheless. Also an off road comparison test. Maybe if you could get both trucks in the sand (or just off-road) somewhere and test the performance of each. Just an idea.
Good video!. Couple things I'll say about that Rator R and TRX drag race. Like you said, the Raptor R doesn't have launch control so that's what helps the TRX. Plus in the video they only showed them do it once the guy in the Raptor R could have had a bad launch. I did read an article where motor trend said the Raptor R they reviewed did 0-60 in 3.7. they said the best they ever got a TRX to do was 4.1. if I remember correctly the Raptor R did a 12.1 quarter mile and the TRX did a 12.8. Even if the TRX turns out to be faster I still ordered a Raptor R. That's funny. The same emails I got .Good luck 🙂

@@dor1tomcswagger69I can only tell you in my experience. I own a Charger WB Hellcat RE and I have never had an issue with the launch control. The video Mike is referring to which was filmed buy throttle house in Canada said they used launch control in the TRX when they where racing the Raptor R. I've also personally driven 3 TRX and never had an issue with launch control but like I said that's my experience. In my experience, most people that have an issue with it is because they don't know how to use it. 🙂

I do have a 2021 diamond black TRX I picked up in June 2021, left foot braking around 1500 to 1700 rpm will consistently produce 3.7 0-60 here in Northwest Florida. I have used launch control many times to verify and launch control is slower by a few 10ths (it varies).
Can't wait to see Raptor R content on the channel, it's going to be awesome. I know how it goes with the emails from Ford, I ordered myself a loaded Platinum Powerboost in January and still no delivery date. I hope things get better next year for Ford. It's frustrating how things are happening now in the world, our family business has been having issues with supply chain delays as well, it's been a tough year to get things done in a timely manner. But, I'm optimistic things will improve.

Last on my list would be drag times especially when they are so close. I'd much rather have the Raptor R simply because it's a more refined truck in my opinion with better suspension and ride quality like you mentioned. Stock 37s and not having to worry about rubbing which is common when people try to do it themselves. Frame has actually been modified to fit the 37s which is awesome. I"ve had loud vehicles in the past so it's not my number one priority these days guess I've grown out of it. The loud drone on long trips is super annoying. Looking forward to you getting your Raptor R

What supply chain issues? Its a Raptor with an Engine from a mustang GT500. Same trans and computers as the mustang and raptor. The only difference is a few suspension changes. Nothing there is constrained by supply chain. They are just slow.
Those emails are auto generated by Ford every 45 days after you have placed an order. I get them too on my R order. It means an allocation hasn’t been given to your truck yet. With no allocation associated to your order, you will continued to get those and it will never get built. You’ll have to re-order for the 2024 model year as it won’t roll over unless you are given a production date. Hopefully you get a second wave allocation as most first wave allocations are now scheduled for production already and customers have been given a VIN and production start date.
All things aside something had to be up with your supercharged 5.0 to not beat the stock TRX. The TRX runs approximately 12.5 at 108 in the 1/4 mile. A well tuned whippled 5.0 should be mid 11’s AT LEAST.
Sell the ram because the one you have as you know is badly optioned. Get the R and compare with the regular raptor for content and if you don't like the R sell it for a fully loaded trx

Keep in mind the 37”s hurts the Raptor off the line a bit, but from A roll is not really a factor (which TFLs vid proves) BUT in exchange for a lil hit off the line the 37”s are superior off-road, look badass, & soak up bumps better/cushier ride on road
Keep the Raptor for your wife-that’s HER truck. Lose the TRX. You’ve had it a while, it’s missing the options that are important to you and like you said, the novelty has worn off. You’ll enjoy the Raptor R much more than the TRX, anyway.
In Australia our number 1 truck is the Toyota landcruiser, some people are having a up to 2 year wait for delivery. Ford and Ram trucks aren’t readily available in Australia they just don’t import them. Some dealers are starting to import a few but want $250 000 + for a new one

Hello Mike, I don't get it here, must you use this vehicle fir content use only? Can't you use it as a daily? You can even create a content with it by showing us how it affects or fits into one's daily use.
I'm sure you know this wise old phrase, "Happy Wife, Happy Life", so I would just leave her with her current Raptor. The R might be just a little too wild for a daily driver IMO, not to mention even taller I think its 37's only. And the fuel economy will be way worse for her. Plus she wouldn't want any loud exhaust on it like you like.

Either way you go, maybe you can hold on to the Raptor or TRX long enough to compare to the new R, and then let one go after you have your fun comparing all three. Is there an urgent need to only have two trucks only?
IMO if you can get the MSRP Raptor R then get it, replace it with the current Raptor, make TH-cam content, and you may sell it later for a profit if you prefer TRX.
I received the same emails for my 2022 F150 Tremor order. Ordered it in March and told it would be 3-6 months. By October, it was still not delivered. The Dealer was able to track down a bit more info than I could. They said it was built and sitting in a lot waiting for a microchip. I ultimately decided to cancel the order and purchased a 2022 Lariat FX4 that was on the lot. Now I am seeing the 2023 Tremor will have the V8. So maybe a trade-up in the future if I can get one!
I hate to say it, but I think the TRX would be a better decision to let go of than the regular Raptor. First of all, you cannot get a Raptor in that colour anymore since its now discontinued, its your wife's dream truck and like you said, you prefer the way that it drives comparing to the TRX. Then you could put a nice exhaust on it like you always do, and maybe find a way to bump the power on it since it uses the Predator engine which is known to be able to make crazy power, just ask Street Speed 717 since his GT500 that he had made about 1000whp no problem.
My buddy built a bronco raptor 14 months ago, it just went into production lol. Now he’s worried it’s not going be to built right due to the supply chain issues. Vehicles have been coming from factory half assed
I just heard on the radio that the F-150 has a recall for the wipers not working 100%. Be funny if you ran out of gas on the way there, i don't think it's a good idea to run on fumes especially in the winter.
Mike, Long time fan! I would certainly take delivery of the Raptor R specially buying at sticker. I would drive it a bit do some content and then if you are not happy with it, sell for possibly some profit, get another TRX since there are a bunch now for sale at sticker or less. I did get an email from Ford that the R will be built on Jan 2 2023 and I'm also at sticker price for 112k. What to do? if you get both trx and raptor R there are many comparison videos you can do testing them in all aspects off road and speed, everyone will be wanting to see videos comparing both trucks

I work the line for ford and we've built like 50 raptor R already the line name for the r because we have 2 different raptors is 5.0 carnivore so u should be getting one soon I put the intercooler in the truck
I would keep the Raptor and the Raptor R. I like the looks of the Raptor better than the TRX also I want to get a Raptor R myself but I refuse to pay over sticker for it. I already have a 2021 Gt500 so I would like to have both the GT500 I've got the Whipple and all the parts needed to upgrade it just haven't had time to get it installed. That being said the Raptor R can be pushed to probably close to 900 wheel hp without a lot of trouble!
People keep talking about the raptor “losing the race”, come on, it was less that one whole car space slower, which mean they basically made it passed the finish line on the same second. They’re the same. Just get what either has better fuel, or whatever you think looks cooler
I ordered a 2023 Raptor 37s performance package on October 29th and I finally got an email saying it's going to be built a on December 20th or production. I know there not the same but the R is based around the 37th package you would think that they would have an answer by now. or if there making 37s packages avaible before raptor R

Option 1 sell both......get the R, and buy another TRX with the tech and interior options that you want. Option 2 is take the R, flip it, use that money to get a new TRX with the options you want and sell your current TRX.

I'm a huge truck fan had a bunch of ford lariats finally got my Raptor 37 2022 fully loaded amazing truck love it to death, got it 3 inch leveled and Mickey Thomson 37X13.5 larger tires etc etc you know the deal. As for your last video you're such a sound guy and it cracks me up. The sound is your thing That is all good. TRX is an awesome truck but--To refer to your question what do you guys think I should do and asking our opinions. My opinion is if you're going to get the Raptor R and you're lucky enough to get the Raptor R stick with it stay with it because it'll have the sound that you want so badly and the performance is way better than that TRX. On and most importantly off road. You are a lucky guy to be able to get all these cars and trucks etc etc I'm pretty lucky too to get my fully loaded Raptor 37 and I love it - I think you should stick with the Raptor Raptors rules baby just Rule. Hey Mike, Just watched this video, and I have some ideas, if you may be interested.... I am NOT nowhere near the vehicle enthusiast When it comes to figuring out which truck to trade in toward the purchase and taking possession of the new RaptoR, A few things I would consider would be: Get the window sticker for the RAM TRX you have now (Link below). Then compare that with the order you created for the new RaptoR, and compare specs and options. Also, if at all possible, take a look at the new RaptoR that may be at the dealership (Town And Country or Moon Township Ford) and ask for a test drive. Go through the sport and other options, with Launch Control and going through tunnels etc. Do the 0-60 and 0-100 tests on both machines. But I think, to get the best unbiased comparison, you would need to find a 2023 Ford RaptoR with a V8 and very close to all options and specifications you chose when you ordered yours, to give you an accurate comparison. Also, ask your wife about the current RaptoR, have her try the new demo model if you find one, and see how she likes the new options and specs compared to her truck's specs. How does she like the TRX? Did you upgrade the exhaust or have a tune done to either the TRX or the current Raptor? Those are things to take into comparison. Frankly, looking at your video when you got your TRX and made a video showing all the specs of that truck. I just can't remember which mods you made. You may have already thought about this. It was just something on my mind so I thought to mention it here. I'm going to find and rewatch the taking delivery and mods for the TRX to educate myself, and rewatch the RaptoR when you ordered it, to see which specs and options you picked. Based on this video alone, I think you should trade the TRX for the new RaptoR. One other thing to consider....at the price of about $110,000, look at the age and condition of both the TRX and current Raptor, and see the best trade-in deal. My apologies if I overstepped. I ordered (with a dealer allocation) a Raptor on April 2nd. As of today, I still don't have a production date. I've been getting the same emails you've been getting regarding the supply chain issues. It's been so long, my 2022 has been pushed to a 2023 model. It's almost laughable at this point.
The Raptor R will be the new hotness. It will be a good source of content and views. I’d like to see one at the drag strip. Maybe take it to the off road park Street Speed goes to. Take it to the sand dunes in Michigan. Mod it. Do a pulley, tune, E85. If you can get it for sticker you will make money off it in a year on top of all the content revenue.
I have both 2022 TRX and 2021 Raptor 37 and the TRX hands down rides better as well as the suspension is better let's not even go with how overpriced the Raptor R and it you take the 60k savings you could have a 1200 HP TRX with 37 and a lot of money left...
Would be curious to see, if you kept both the TRX & the Raptor R, what the real world towing capabilities are between the 2. & just for fun, test the towing capability between the TRX and your current Raptor while you’re still in waitlist. 😊
I would ditch the ram if it were my decision. 1 no need for 2 v8 supercharged trucks.. 2 the ford is better in most ways driving, luxury, suspension, handling, weight, etc... 3 I just like fords overall and they look better to me. Either way your gonna have to drag race them before you unload either of them. Good luck and hope you get your truck before the 2024 models come out! Another thing... with some good tuning and particular mods you can make a 3.5 eb hang with the trx... remember, ram threw the kitchen sink at the trx and ford kinda stayed true to the raptor platform. If you do some things to the 3.5 it can be nasty for sure. I have an 18 platinum and it's putting down some good power. Raced a scat pack the other night from a dig and had it to the next red light.
For content i it's clear i think: Raptor R and TRX is best for comparison vids. But for you guys personally i think it makes the most sense to have the "normal" raptor with either the R or TRX. So then u have de raptor that is still very cool and capable but also is a lot easyer on gas. So if you're gonna make like a very long trip u can take the Raptor. And if you have the luxury: Keep the 3 trucks for a little while to compare the R and TRX for real for yourself AND content and i think only THEN you will be able to really choose.
Ford needs to make it aggressive more noticeable to a regular f150. Like when you see one you seen them but with ram they made trx so aggressive with fenders and everything. With your 2 trucks side by side. The raptor looks like a puppy a regular f150.

Pro Tip....If you drive the TRX in Snow Mode and use the paddle shifters to control the RPMs you'll get close to 13-14mpg
hmm what about the raptor in mud/ sand 2wd with paddles shoud return 16-17 mpg 😂

Just received confirmation from Ford that my Raptor R was built and should be arriving at my dealer between January 20, 2023 and January 26, 2023.

I got an email on 11/17 stating that my Raptor R is scheduled to be build the week of 12/19. Hope yours will be scheduled for production soon!

Hey Mike. On your order did you also get a message about not having heated steering wheel? I have been notified on my Raptor R order. Curious if it's on all orders. And thanks for the videos, great as always. IMO keep the raptor for the wife, as well get the R.
Hello Mike, I don't get it here, must you use this vehicle fir content use only? Can't you use it as a daily? You can even create a content with it by showing us how it affects or fits into one's daily use.
I'm sure you know this wise old phrase, "Happy Wife, Happy Life", so I would just leave her with her current Raptor. The R might be just a little too wild for a daily driver IMO, not to mention even taller I think its 37's only. And the fuel economy will be way worse for her. Plus she wouldn't want any loud exhaust on it like you like.
The R looks better, sounds better, and is better as far as I've seen so far from videos, drag races on pavement doesn't mean a thing
I’m a ford guy but it’d be cool to have the trx and raptor r, but on another note those will both drink gas so maybe keeping both raptors would be good…. Either way sweet rides I’ll never have 🤙🏽keep in mine the raptor r also has 37s and the 4x4 launches spin off the line
Either way you go, maybe you can hold on to the Raptor or TRX long enough to compare to the new R, and then let one go after you have your fun comparing all three. Is there an urgent need to only have two trucks only?
IMO if you can get the MSRP Raptor R then get it, replace it with the current Raptor, make TH-cam content, and you may sell it later for a profit if you prefer TRX.
I received the same emails for my 2022 F150 Tremor order. Ordered it in March and told it would be 3-6 months. By October, it was still not delivered. The Dealer was able to track down a bit more info than I could. They said it was built and sitting in a lot waiting for a microchip. I ultimately decided to cancel the order and purchased a 2022 Lariat FX4 that was on the lot. Now I am seeing the 2023 Tremor will have the V8. So maybe a trade-up in the future if I can get one!
The 5.0 in the tremor with a supercharger would be dope

I hate to say it, but I think the TRX would be a better decision to let go of than the regular Raptor. First of all, you cannot get a Raptor in that colour anymore since its now discontinued, its your wife's dream truck and like you said, you prefer the way that it drives comparing to the TRX. Then you could put a nice exhaust on it like you always do, and maybe find a way to bump the power on it since it uses the Predator engine which is known to be able to make crazy power, just ask Street Speed 717 since his GT500 that he had made about 1000whp no problem.
My buddy built a bronco raptor 14 months ago, it just went into production lol. Now he’s worried it’s not going be to built right due to the supply chain issues. Vehicles have been coming from factory half assed

I just heard on the radio that the F-150 has a recall for the wipers not working 100%. Be funny if you ran out of gas on the way there, i don't think it's a good idea to run on fumes especially in the winter.
Mike, Long time fan! I would certainly take delivery of the Raptor R specially buying at sticker. I would drive it a bit do some content and then if you are not happy with it, sell for possibly some profit, get another TRX since there are a bunch now for sale at sticker or less. That way you get some content with the R and then compare trucks etc. Just my 2 cents! Hopefully the Raptor R comes soon! Take care Mike! Ohh and hello from sunny 80 degree Orlando..:)

I did get an email from Ford that the R will be built on Jan 2 2023 and I'm also at sticker price for 112k. What to do? I do have my 2022 Shelby GT500 Heritage, so it will look nice bhut what do you think?
Motor Trend got a 3.7 sec 0-60 for the R and a 4.1 for the TRX…. Plus you have to remember the R is pushing 37” tires versus the 35s on the TRX.

I think you should try to go off road racing in the new raptor R, raptor Ecoboost, or maybe your TRX
if you get both trx and raptor R there are many comparison videos you can do testing them in all aspects off road and speed, everyone will be wanting to see videos comparing both trucks
I have a loaded ram and it’s amazing! If it was me I would trade the TRX in on a loaded one and you would never look back there just great trucks.

I work the line for ford and we've built like 50 raptor R already the line name for the r because we have 2 different raptors is 5.0 carnivore so u should be getting one soon I put the intercooler in the truck

I would keep the Raptor and the Raptor R. I like the looks of the Raptor better than the TRX also I want to get a Raptor R myself but I refuse to pay over sticker for it. I already have a 2021 Gt500 so I would like to have both the GT500 I've got the Whipple and all the parts needed to upgrade it just haven't had time to get it installed. That being said the Raptor R can be pushed to probably close to 900 wheel hp without a lot of trouble!
TRX wins from a dig…Raptor R wins during a roll. Both trucks are awesome and I don’t see any downside to owning either one.
People keep talking about the raptor “losing the race”, come on, it was less that one whole car space slower, which mean they basically made it passed the finish line on the same second. They’re the same. Just get what either has better fuel, or whatever you think looks cooler

I ordered a 2023 Raptor 37s performance package on October 29th and I finally got an email saying it's going to be built a on December 20th or production. I know there not the same but the R is based around the 37th package you would think that they would have an answer by now. or if there making 37s packages avaible before raptor R

Wait till you get your long awaited truck. Keep all 3. Then do a three way comparison! How about that?
Option 1 sell both......get the R, and buy another TRX with the tech and interior options that you want. Option 2 is take the R, flip it, use that money to get a new TRX with the options you want and sell your current TRX.
100% keep the TRX and have comparison videos between the raptor r and the trx!
Good luck once it's even built. My regular 2023 Raptor has been built and "Shipped" for over a month and a half and has yet to be delivered.
I wouldn't even go for the Raptor R. Leave the cars as they are. Shmee's GT500 consumption is below 10MPG usually anyways.
The sensible thing would be to buy the Raptor R anyway as you are getting it for list then flip it for overs so you can go and buy the next supercar!

HEY MIKE, hope this finds you!! Been following your channel for quite some time really love it, great job. I'm a huge truck fan had a bunch of ford lariats finally got my Raptor 37 2022 fully loaded amazing truck love it to death, got it 3 inch leveled and Mickey Thomson 37X13.5 larger tires etc etc you know the deal.
As for your last video you're such a sound guy and it cracks me up. The sound is your thing That is all good. TRX is an awesome truck but--To refer to your question what do you guys think I should do and asking our opinions. My opinion is if you're going to get the Raptor R and you're lucky enough to get the Raptor R stick with it stay with it because it'll have the sound that you want so badly and the performance is way better than that TRX. On and most importantly off road. You are a lucky guy to be able to get all these cars and trucks etc etc I'm pretty lucky too to get my fully loaded Raptor 37 and I love it - I think you should stick with the Raptor Raptors rules baby just Rule. There the king.

Just watched this video, and I have some ideas, if you may be interested....

When it comes to figuring out which truck to trade in toward the purchase and taking possession of the new RaptoR, A few things I would consider would be:
Get the window sticker for the RAM TRX you have now (Link below). Then compare that with the order you created for the new RaptoR, and compare specs and options. Also, if at all possible, take a look at the new RaptoR that may be at the dealership (Town And Country or Moon Township Ford) and ask for a test drive. Go through the sport and other options, with Launch Control and going through tunnels etc. Do the 0-60 and 0-100 tests on both machines. But I think, to get the best unbiased comparison, you would need to find a 2023 Ford RaptoR with a V8 and very close to all options and specifications you chose when you ordered yours, to give you an accurate comparison.
Also, ask your wife about the current RaptoR, have her try the new demo model if you find one, and see how she likes the new options and specs compared to her truck's specs. How does she like the TRX?
Did you upgrade the exhaust or have a tune done to either the TRX or the current Raptor? Those are things to take into comparison. Frankly, looking at your video when you got your TRX and made a video showing all the specs of that truck. I just can't remember which mods you made.
You may have already thought about this. It was just something on my mind so I thought to mention it here. I'm going to find and rewatch the taking delivery and mods for the TRX to educate myself, and rewatch the RaptoR when you ordered it, to see which specs and options you picked. Based on this video alone, I think you should trade the TRX for the new RaptoR. One other thing to consider....at the price of about $110,000, look at the age and condition of both the TRX and current Raptor, and see the best trade-in deal.

I ordered (with a dealer allocation) a Raptor on April 2nd. As of today, I still don't have a production date. I've been getting the same emails you've been getting regarding the supply chain issues. It's been so long, my 2022 has been pushed to a 2023 model. It's almost laughable at this point.

The Raptor R will be the new hotness. It will be a good source of content and views. I’d like to see one at the drag strip. Maybe take it to the off road park Street Speed goes to. Take it to the sand dunes in Michigan. Mod it. Do a pulley, tune, E85. If you can get it for sticker you will make money off it in a year on top of all the content revenue.
The R isn’t worth the upgrade. Especially for the added cost. But, trade in the truck for whatever truck gets you more money.
I have both 2022 TRX and 2021 Raptor 37 and the TRX hands down rides better as well as the suspension is better let's not even go with how overpriced the Raptor R and it you take the 60k savings you could have a 1200 HP TRX with 37 and a lot of money left...

Would be curious to see, if you kept both the TRX & the Raptor R, what the real world towing capabilities are between the 2. & just for fun, test the towing capability between the TRX and your current Raptor while you’re still in waitlist. 😊

I would ditch the ram if it were my decision. 1 no need for 2 v8 supercharged trucks.. 2 the ford is better in most ways driving, luxury, suspension, handling, weight, etc... 3 I just like fords overall and they look better to me. Either way your gonna have to drag race them before you unload either of them. Good luck and hope you get your truck before the 2024 models come out! Another thing... with some good tuning and particular mods you can make a 3.5 eb hang with the trx... remember, ram threw the kitchen sink at the trx and ford kinda stayed true to the raptor platform. If you do some things to the 3.5 it can be nasty for sure. I have an 18 platinum and it's putting down some good power. Raced a scat pack the other night from a dig and had it to the next red light.

For content i it's clear i think: Raptor R and TRX is best for comparison vids. But for you guys personally i think it makes the most sense to have the "normal" raptor with either the R or TRX. So then u have de raptor that is still very cool and capable but also is a lot easyer on gas. So if you're gonna make like a very long trip u can take the Raptor.
And if you have the luxury: Keep the 3 trucks for a little while to compare the R and TRX for real for yourself AND content and i think only THEN you will be able to really choose.
Ford needs to make it aggressive more noticeable to a regular f150. Like when you see one you seen them but with ram they made trx so aggressive with fenders and everything. With your 2 trucks side by side. The raptor looks like a puppy a regular f150.

I think they are holding out so they don't give them to dealerships and maybe doing a Tesla style so to avoid massive markups
