  • How to make The Best Juicy Oven Baked Turkey Legs right at home in the oven.
    Ingredients:
    * Slight change to the recipe ingredients from the video. I removed the 1 tsp of salt to avoid the turkey drums being overly salty. The Sazon Complete should be enough. However adjust the ingredients to your taste buds
    - 2 Pre-smoked Turkey Legs
    - 1 Stick of soften unsalted butter
    - 2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
    - 1 Tbsp Onion Powder
    - 1 Tbsp Garlic Powder
    - 1 Tbsp Smoked Paprika
    - 1 Tbsp Sazon Complete Seasoning
    - 1 Tbsp Italian seasoning
    - 1 Tsp Pepper
    TIPs:
    - Make sure your smoked turkey legs are thawed
    - Lawd Have Mercy Better than BBQ Sauce or your favorite BBQ Sauce - lhmproducts.com
    - Mix well the mixture should be paste like to rub all over your pre-smoked Turkey Legs.
    - Use Aluminun foil to wrap completely as seen in the video
    - Baked at 350 for 4 hours
    - Use your favorite BBQ sauce for dip or slather all over once done.

    Hi Everyone! I get asked a lot if this recipe is salty. The only ingredients with salt is the Sazon and the 1 tsp of salt. You can always adjust the seasoning to your liking. The Pre-smoked drums will contain a lot of salt this mixture can be spread out on 2-4 drums. I only cooked 2 for this video recipe! Enjoy and I’m here for any more questions! 😊

    Is it salty ?

    • @EatswithTwan
      @EatswithTwan  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, It’s actually not, it’s very little salt added to the butter mixture the Sazon complete and the 1 tsp of salt. This mixture can be spread out for 2-4 large drums. The other ingredients, did not have salt such as the garlic, smoke, paprika, onion powder, butter and etc. The drums are somewhat salty from the store so I recommend adjusting any salt as you please.

  • @hotmudbath
    @hotmudbath 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Warning to others: This looks great. I mixed my softened butter and herbs. I tried to rub it all over my turkey legs. My room's temperature is 55 cause I'd rather wear more clothes than pay for more gas. No matter what I did, the rub slid right off the turkey and stuck to my fingers. I had totally naked turkey legs and large chunks of rub stuck to my nicely herb-buttered fingers. I cleaned my fingers and came to look at your directions again to see what I did wrong. Maybe your room has a higher temperature!!? I have to go back to the kitchen to see if I can get my rub to the right softness so it will stick to the turkey.

    • @twanjr
      @twanjr 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      At 55 degrees the butter would appear to be more hard than soft. Room temperature around 70 degrees is more ideal. 55 seems really cold/cool. You can always microwave until the butter is soften like a cream like consistency. Make sure your smoked Turkey wings are completely dry. If you have large chunks thanks the butter is not soft enough. That’s an easy fix. Look at the texture in the video I have minor clumps. Hope this helps

    • @hotmudbath
      @hotmudbath 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Update & Result: (Spoiler: Extremely delicious!) I warmed the rub in the preheated oven for a few minutes, then added a bit of olive oil. Then it rubbed and stuck on great!! I had looked at a number of recipes & saw different oven temps & cook times - from 275-350 & 2-4 hours. I used 275 for 2 hours, then checked this recipe & upped it to 350 for one more hour. I turned the legs over at some point. After that third hour, something was burning in the butter that was running all over my bake dish, so I took them out and let them rest, then tried one. It was extremely delicious!!! Next time, as this video showed, I need to wrap my foil much more carefully and tightly. Thank you Antwan!

    Nope started off wrong with bbq sauce and second you need to boil already smoked turkey before cooking because it's super salty

    • @EatswithTwan
      @EatswithTwan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Why would you boil cooked SMOKED meat? ITS SMOKED MEAT you will destroy the smoked flavor. I can tell you don’t know what you are talking about Lol. Secondly the BBQ sauce was for dipping only and was a side item. The BBQ sauce was not put on the drums while baking. Not sure what Turkey drums you buy but they are not overly salty if that’s the case when people boil them for collard green the liquid would be salty when they add the other ingredients.
