I made these and combined some cabbage potatoes and carrots, and another time. I made it with collard greens on the bottom so when it’s done, I have two dishes in one. And came out fabulous. Thanks for sharing.🙏🏽
🩵🩵🩵 I’m gonna to make this for the holidays, thanks you for the new recipe I always did turkey parts, because we only like certain parts of the turkey, I’m gonna put mine in the crockpot, i’ll add the bell pepper and onions halfway through
You know parsley is good for your liver especially for fresh parsley so you should add it to every meal if you can I am definitely going to try your recipe on some smoked turkey wings is what I came up with because your turkey legs look so delicious I just know these wings are going to taste delicious too thank you for your recipe
I despise the idea of cooking an entire turkey, I feel a large bird is a waste... I've seen turkey legs in the store for yrs now but didn't know what to do with them.. your video has helped me a lot. I will definitely give these a go😊
Thank you and I hope you enjoy your smoked turkey legs. I have a whole turkey in the refrigerator right now thawing so I can cook it Sunday for my Thanksgiving Turkey video this year. I love turkey. I’m a dark meat kinda girl but this year I’m hoping to have my whole bird so juicy that even the worst turkey hater will love it😉
This recipe and special techniques (an added bonus!) is what will be served tonight’s dinner ~ Thank you Ms. Jackie. I will let you know how the 2smoked Turkey legs cooked up!
Wow !!!!~ The smoked turkey Legs recipe was amazing dinner delicious! My youngest is a very picky picky eater and loved the taste. The tasty gravy grabbed our tastebuds attention! Four thumbs up👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 Thank you for perfecting a perfect recipe 😊
You are going to love them especially if you like to get them at carnivals and such. Cook several and freeze them individually. That way when you get a craving you’ll already have some👍🏽
Thanks for doing this! Just got my first smoked turkey legs to try in bean soup. I saw posts that said to just warm them up in the oven till 165 degrees. Sounded pretty dry. Yours look so tender! First time I'm trying the smoked drumsticks and most bean and turkey leg recipes toss the legs in with the beans and cook. Then pull off turkey meat and add back to the pot. Think I'll cook mine in the oven with broth first, and then start the bean soup. THANKS!
Oh no! My Husband said mine looked undercooked the last time we went to Six Flags too! We’re going this Thursday during Spring Break and I don’t plan on buying one this time. Thanks for watching and God bless.
Omgosh that looks so good! I’m going to add turkey legs to my next Walmart order! Never have cooked just the legs, done the breast & whole turkey of course but your so right, we bought a turkey leg at a show last year & it was 14.00 & taste ok but a lot smaller than yours! Thank you for the recipe! Lesa from Northern California 🤗😋❤️
I am with you on doing a low and slow braise on smoked turkey legs or even the smoked thighs. When it falls off that bone... heaven! TY for mentioning about the salt. We have significantly cut back on that and sugar and we do not miss it. I will be making this soon and I will be using the vidalia onions.) Great recipe!
Thank you Mochi. I never ever thought that the day would come where I didn’t crave salt. I do use it lightly when cooking but I never add it at the table anymore and I don’t miss it either. My sweet tooth I’m still working on but better. Being able to taste food is such a blessing!
Me too! I watch many videos here and Instagram and I notice no one cooks their greens w the smoked meat. That's why I don't really like other ppls greens. They're never seasoned enough.
You will really like cooking them at home because you’ll be in the comfort of your own home and can eat it at your leisure. When I buy them at Carowinds it’s always good but I can never finish it. Then I have to walk around with it the rest of the day😉
I did make them and they were excellent. I will never buy another one from a fair. I usually get them at A&T's homecoming, Carowinds, state fair, Lexington BBQ festival.....Now I can save my money for other stuff because those turkey legs are now $15 each. Thanks.
I use my Pressure cooker XL. Season them just as she did with the same ingredients. Put them in the pressure cooker for 40 minutes to 1 hour. They will be so tender and fallen off the bone. Transfer them to another dish and combine them with side dishes. I cook it this way all the time.
If I did that I wouldn’t be left with any flavor at all! Why are you buying smoked turkey legs if you’re going to do all that. Just buy the regular turkey legs and add liquid smoke and save your money. I’m not knocking your cooking process but I buy smoked turkey legs for every bit of the seasonings that already comes in them.
JUst a suggestion if you are cooking in oven use a pan that will allow them to not touch you dont need to manipulate these they are fully cooked you are re hydrating and allowing them to loosen up.
Happy Easter Chef Jackie ! Make’n this smoked turkey leg 🍗 for the feast . I’ve made this dish for the family and never any leftover 😂 ! Recently had a business meeting and pulled out secretly frozen meatloaf for a reheat for dinner and came home to an empty dish! I was asked to try making the old school pound cake again but with strawberries and blueberries on the side . My pickiest eater loves your in-n-out (Jackie’s meatloaf) best! I’ve cooked and have shared your recipes with close family friends. Keep on with your videos! We appreciate you !
Thank you so much @cynjay450! I really appreciate your support by sharing my videos. I try to share simple recipes that my family loves the most. If you’ve been watching my channel for a while you know that that is not always the case, but I do try. A good recipe is like a gem. Once you find one you want to hold on to it😉
@@JackiesSouthernSoul indeed! Recenti found a recipe for shrimp estouffe ! Made a nice pot of rice for the kids and your greens recipe greens for us adults ~ 😂. I like your recipes because they are time management friendly as well as nourishing. I like a Southern Style Cuisine .
Absolutely! When you cook them yourself you save a lot of money. It’s way less expensive than buying them at Carowinds, a fair or at restaurants. They tend to charge at least double of what you pay at Walmart 🥰
Ur a Life aavor 🎉. I’m Latina and I bought these legs .. not knowing what to do ..🫢. But ur recipes on point and simple thanks so much. Let’s see how it goes.. much love from Brooklyn ny 👍

I sure do. I thought I had one and actually looked for it recently when I made some Mississippi Turkey Wings. No luck finding it so I will be buying a new one ASAP! Thank for your support and viewership 🙏
I’ve actually had these before and they are not overly salty at all. If you’ve never had them before I wouldn’t recommend adding salt to them until you’ve tried them. Thank you for watching and God Bless 🙏
They don't make them like they used to. I've had smoked turkey and smoked neck bones from different stores and they're no where near salty as they used to be back in the day. I stopped pre-boiling the meat cause it boils out the flavor and I ended up adding alot of salt to the meat.
It’s not the smoke, it’s the curing process that adds the sodium 😅. You can smoke meats at home, if you have a smoker, and you can add (or omit) whatever seasonings you want.
Can you get a microphone…. You talk to low…. I’ll check the next video for volume, I’m hard of hearing and my volume is up HELPPPPPppppppp the partially deaf

Tried tonight for a friendsgiving thanks for the recipe! Turkey without cooking A WHOLE TURKEY.
I’m making legs for this Thanksgiving and have looked all over for a decent tutorial. You are a lifesaver! Thank you!!
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching!
You can tell a Good Cook, by the way she just knows how much season to use that only comes with experience. Peace and Love
Wow!!!!! Great idea!!!!! Will be trying this in the crock pot on low for 3 hours.
I've watched maybe 10 of these turkey leg videos so far and this one looks the best! Can't wait to try it.
Hope you enjoy

I would’ve put that juice in my greens for that added flavor. But I cook my green with them in it

I was thinking of the same pressure cooker ❤
I’m cookin on stove I didn’t put pork in it smells so good making cornbread onions lots black pepper little pink salt my favorite comfort foods
Looks delicious what do you serve with your smoked turkey legs
Sometimes we just eat them alone for a snack but when they are part of a meal green beans, potato salad and maybe some yams.
I boil mine for about two hours changing the water a couple times to get a lot of the salt out.
If I did that I wouldn’t be left with any flavor at all! Why are you buying smoked turkey legs if you’re going to do all that. Just buy the regular turkey legs and add liquid smoke and save your money.

@@JackiesSouthernSoul I should have said I do this for my blood pressure. But believe it or not, there is still plenty of flavor.

I boil them in water with carrots and celery. Seasonings. Let cool pull the meat and skin off. Then the next day i Put dumpings in
what kind of pot is that and where do you purchase one? i like it
This is a roaster! I can’t remember where I bought it from but try Bed Bath and beyond online if they don’t have a store near you. Also check thrift stores😉
Oh they are at Walmart too. If you Google Black or blue speckled roasters a lot will come up in different sizes👍🏼
How long would you say to cook these for in the crock pot? I wanted to do this instead of a whole turkey this year ❤
I’d say try 4 hours. I’ve never cooked them that way but I do know that when I cook meats in a crockpot too long it makes it chewy to me.
Yum!
I got some too and found this video to figure out how to reheat lol
Thank you!
You are so welcome!
😂I’m watching this at 221am thinking about what I want to cook
Thank You So Much ❤
You're welcome 😊
Thank you!🥰
You’re welcome 😊
Yum
Use unsmoked meat it's better for you just add your own seasons.
Hey if i cooked mines in the crock pot will it come out the same ?
I’d try it without much chicken broth and keep checking after about three hours. Crockpots tend to dry meats out if you cook it too long.
What should i use if i don't have that pot
You should be able to use any baking dish. If it doesn’t have a lid for it use aluminum foil.
Maybe it’s just me but when I buy smoked meats like this I don’t season it don’t like it to salty
Yeah I usually don’t season my smoked meats either and that was a lot of seasoning plus the broth has salt in it
You need a baster to get that juice at the bottom
I sure do. I thought I had one and actually looked for it recently when I made some Mississippi Turkey Wings. No luck finding it so I will be buying a new one ASAP!
Thank for your support and viewership 🙏
Damm they look GREAT NOW Put some Cayenne red pepper on them Add some tobacco And I'm ready to go😋😋😊🤗
Sounds good but a little spicy for me👍🏼
DELICIOUS 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Any smoked meat will be salty, so be careful
I’ve actually had these before and they are not overly salty at all. If you’ve never had them before I wouldn’t recommend adding salt to them until you’ve tried them.

I have old cooking hands😂🤣😉
❤❤❤❤❤❤
That midwestern accent... can you hear it???🙂
Lol! I’m not sure what a midwestern accent sounds like but I do know I’m a country gal🥰
I cant unhear it now 😅
aren't those legs already smoked ?
Yes they are already smoked. Did you think I smoked them again? I baked them👍🏼
