Somewhere in that area is a location of great historical significance (although I can't remember what it is at the moment). For all of the times we drove through on our way to & from LA, my Dad really wanted us to visit that location and video as much as I could. We never got around to it, and he passed away a couple of years ago... I'm still kicking myself for that.
Didn't look like ALL those six laned sections were going uphill-- or even sharply downhill either... is higher volumes, specifically the percentage traffic numbers that semi's make up???
Trans Canada Phil yes there are tons of lakes and that area is actually not as dry as it may look, yes it's much drier than normal but there are actually lots of flash floods that often go through southern Utah. And yes, Utah has hundreds of lakes, not too far to the southeast of the video is Lake Powell. And there is also lots of lakes north of us. If you watch S4E6, we pass like 3 large lakes in the video.
Surprisingly we get lots of people from Utah around here. It seems that every other week or so I always have a pair of young men in white shirts and skinny ties with their Books of Morman at my door. I think it's because a new Morman temple is being built here in my city so I guess they are really gearing up around here. I have a stack of like 17 Books of Morman sitting in the corner (I kid you not) from the visits :-D

Utah has so many historic sites! I can't even think of all of them!
ALL RIGHT!!! Was always curious what this road looked like... I mean we've gotten PLENTY of I-70 taped almost entirely, but I-15 this way?!

I know they are adding the cedar city Mormon temple it's dedication is later this year
