Roshida, Thank you for having me. I want to encourage women over 50 to leave the things that no longer serve you. Find your slice of paradise. Yes it can be scary, but we've done the work. Go LIVE while you are healthy, of sound mind and body. Best decision I ever made was putting my desires FIRST!!!
Because of you Sondra I got my DTV. I will be making my first trip to SIN, IDN, BKK and HKT in a few weeks. I hope I run into you in them streets. 🥰 I still haven't finalized a plan but I am taking the necessary steps. Thank you also to Roshida and the Exodus Summit squad.
PERFECT timing for me! I have been planning to leave the US for 10 years now but FINALLY leaving this year! Nervous but excited! Thank you all for sharing!
That's amazing! Starting a new life in Costa Rica sounds like such an exciting adventure. Wishing you all the best as you work towards your residency! 💛
You are just a tad bit younger than me, December sister:) It's so sad that the Financial Solvency is out of reach for the majority of us. Wish I could have moved Before these outrageous requirement fees became mandatory.

I just watched the first interview and finally, somebody (Roshida) is brave enough to get into the weeds and find out from real expats how they were able to financially make the leap abroad. And thank you Adalia for being brave and transparent with your intimate (oooh x-rated) financial situation. I've watched many TH-cam videos on black women moving abroad and I've yet to hear anyone talk real-talk about the money component of moving abroad. Y'all know black folks don't talk about their personal money circumstances (oooh taboo). Of course, that's a generalist statement but often true...So thank you all so much for removing the veils and getting into the nitty gritty. Love it! I'm strategizing my move and will start scouting Latin America asap. Thank you for this wonderful encouragement!
This this 1000x this. I appreciated the transparency. Even the second lady said she saved $5k in 6 months making $3k/month from work and took the leap. And is now able to faster pay off her debt and save.

This is a great topic. I'm sending this to my 33 year old niece who is convinced she needs a high dollar remote job OR a huge pile of savings before she can move abroad.
I am lucky when my electricity bill IN GA is less than $500! I moved to GA from AK for the lower cost of living...boy, was I surprised! Thank you ladies for being beacons in so many women's EXODUS journey🥰

Even that initial move to Saskatchewan - I never would've even thought to do that if not for the content you and Stephanie put out. I never would've thought I'd have retired at all (and so early!). This was so good and on time. I have been planning on moving to SA next year for a year. After watching this I have put a date on it, I will move the first of March 2025. I spoke to a realtor this week and now I am really determined to follow through and sell my house. I am comparing health care plans, checking on Visas, and I am now determined to get more intentional on building my online business and writing passion. I have lots of things in boxes that I need not want, that are not even unpacked, it’s time to sell, sell, sell. Sometimes we have money that is sitting around that we don’t even count. This has really made my day, thanks to you and these amazing ladies for sharing
All of the stories were good, but I think Aja's was more relatable to some of us who have not been teachers, medical workers, pensions, etc. Her move was truly an act of faith. Congratulations to all of ladies interviewed.
ROSHIDA!!!.....Excellent video ma'am!! It's the best video I've seen. It was so relatable. Most of us are one of these ladies. Just regular people with jobs that aren't big investors with small to no savings. I thank you so much for this one! I'll be moving there with my partner in 2 weeks, and this video just boosted our confidence on our journey. Great job, ladies, and thank you all so much for your honesty and transparency.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm thrilled to hear that the video resonated with you and your journey. Wishing you and your partner all the best as you embark on this exciting new chapter! Please share the video with a friend who might find it helpful.
Ladies 🛑 buying and shopping to save save save to move!! I’m headed out December 2025!! Selling house, car, plus my savings and 401K and pension not including SS. I’m getting prepared.
Same! The goal is to be out in October 2025 when my lease is up. I’ll be selling my car, furniture and storing a few items i can’t bring. America has fear mongered us for so long to think that other countries aren’t livable or that racism abroad is just as extreme as it is in the US.
I hope to be right behind you! I’ve decided to go through all my clothing and sell off what I don’t wear/want and I work two jobs currently so I can save for this move. It’s wonderful to see so many like-minded black women that are looking out for themselves for once. We need to take care of us - we’ve been the caretakers of everyone else far too long.
Thank you for the great info. I am looking to retire in about two years and starting to plan for a move abroad. Watching these interviews make me feel so much better. I mentioned to my family that I’m thinking about moving to Costa Rica and they think I’m crazy. I’m going to consider Mexico as well.but watching this make me feel so much better about my decision.
Awesome series of Real life conversations. Puts everything in perspective from all areas of life. When the Sister said the kids aren't coming to visit, Amen. I'm so eager to be in the summit this year. I'm so ready to move at age 72!
Roshida, this was a great, great video. Women with different family and financial situations, countries and talents sharing their journey of living abroad is priceless. Thank you for this.
Roshida, I can't begin to Thank You enough for this video. Every woman had a different story, financial status and how they went about making their move abroad attainable. I was able to learn from their experiences and incorporate some of their movements into my plans to move abroad. Because there are sooo many women who have moved or are slowly moving abroad, Roshida I'm asking you to please consider making this a series with different women, maybe once a month. Your questions were right on point. From those who had money and those who didn't. I appreciate these women for being honest, open and candid. Thank You! I do have one request. I have 2 dogs that need to come with me. One is 15 pounds and the other one is 80 pounds. I'm not worry about traveling with the small dog but the big dog is my biggest worry. Flying in cargo is not an option. I know all about the complete immunizations that needed to be obtain in order for them to travel. My concerns are Pet-Friendly communities, are there regulations besides the immunizations of bringing dogs abroad and who has actually done this with a large dog. Again, Thank You Roshida!
THIS!!! So inspiring, I can’t even explain. I’m prepping for a scouting trip to Central America that leaves this weekend and it has been awful. Rushing around with last minute stuff on meds, kids’ schoolwork, getting money together, getting ill. It all culminated in the loss of my temper this morning, followed by a near accident. I took a deep breath and watched this vid to get me back on track. To get me out of my damned limited beliefs and embrace abundance and my vision. I truly felt the last mother’s words about not feeling safe enough because of financial insecurity to even begin to heal from trauma. And the story she shared about her son’s visit to the US and back into the Black criminality matrix. Whew! I had to remember just why I made this plan in the first place: to save myself (job is literally making me sick) and save my young Black sons. Whe I tell you that I needed this like a Sunday sermon message.LOL. Thanks and I already have my ticket for the Summit.
This is THE content I've been looking for. Very relevant questions! Loved the Lack to Legacy individual...very relatable. Thank you for taking the time to post/make this video 🎉
I loved this episode! Thank you for highlighting these brave women. I liked that they all had different factors when making the move abroad. I’m in the planning stages and would love to see more of these episodes. Can you also include how women handle leaving children and grandchildren in the states. I realize we have FaceTime and I could always come back to visit…isn’t that simple? LOL
Great Guests and great questions. It helped to know the budgets, the quality of life, and the safety that was discussed. Also, healthcare is a big one. Thank you for asking about that also. They seem so at peace and rested, the stress and pressure off! Having the ability to do what they want with giggle room in their finances and time. Loved this interview!!! Thanks, Roshida, for this!
I appreciate all that you do Rashida, all of your guests resonated with me, Aja's journey was especially encouraging, because she took a risk and made it happen.
This is probably one of the most informative, enjoyable, honest videos I have watched and and kept my attention to be inspired to keep going. Roshida your questions were spot on. Thanks again to all that shared to inspire others to keep going and moving forward.🥰
@RoshidaDowe, this was great and very helpful. I have a teenage son, so I was particularly touched when Aja discussed her son feeling & being safe in Mexico.💙
I'm so glad you found the video helpful! Remember, it's all about making the most of what you have. You've got this! I hope to see you at ExodUS Summit this year. 💛
Omg! I identify so much with Aja!! I have a toddler. I’m a solo mom and get no help financially. I literally cannot afford to live in the US anymore. I have to constantly choose between buying food and paying daycare. Both I have no choice but to pay right now! I’m literally going out of my mind here. I have -$ saved! But I’m about to sell everything, filing bankruptcy, and moving to another country once I secure a remote income!
Thank you for your kind words! It means a lot to hear that you found the stories inspiring. Every voice matters, and I'm grateful for everyone who shared their journey.
love this content, considering moving and seeing women with different backgrounds and different financial situations, gives me courage, Thank You Roshida
Hello Roshida. I have recently been watching Stephanie Perry’s channel, after having subscribed to it many months ago. As this video found me and I watched it in its entirety, I am entertaining even more the idea of exiting stage left. Thank you for these nuggets of information.
Roshida, I’m so grateful to you for interviewing these ladies. This has helped me make a decision I’ve been contemplating for a long time. Thank you for this video.
Thank you for this! I love that there were a diversity of stories featured in this video. Aja resonated the most with me because she took a risk and made it work, which is how my life has always been. I just came back from Puerto Vallarta and thought it was just a tourist town, so hearing her story helped balance my preconceived notion on that. While smart, not all of us have the luxury of saving up to make a move or investing before making a move (whether it's due to circumstance, trauma, or just our calling/path in life) so I really appreciated that you included her story along with the others. Blessings to all of you in continued safety, success, and sustainability living abroad!
Aloha Roshida Roshida, I really love watching your youtube. I am planning my Exdous for 2025. I currently live in the island of Hawaií 5 years strong. I have made my decision on relocating. I have been looking for a place to be comparable esthetically, but definitely much cheaper. I AM SUPER EXCITED!!! Inlove your smile cant wait to meet you!
Aloha! Thank you so much for your kind words! It sounds like you have an exciting adventure ahead of you! I’m sure you’ll find the perfect spot for your new journey. I hope to see you at ExodUS Summit in October 💛
Sounds like you're ready to turn your "limited funds" into "unlimited adventures"! Keep soaking up that knowledge and who knows where you'll end up! Will I see you at ExodUS Summit in October?
This is REALLY helpful information. I am 'this close' to my only child graduating college. I am now able to focus on funding my retirement and next steps--which includes a possible move straight outta!!
Hello ladies! I want to say I love this video soooooo much, it's speaking to my spirit and every cell in my body. The part about sell the house keep the house, the house is generational wealth pass it down to your kids your grandkids. I own my home I want to move abroad, but in the back of my mind I have all these questions, What If this, what if that? These thoughts makes me want to keep my home because what if I want to move back to the US. I've been listening and watching videos from Stephanie Perry and Roshida for some months now and what I can say is, I dream about moving abroad but one foot is firmly in America and one foot is Fancy free Freedom living abroad. I will continue watching the videos and prepare myself for that move. Thank you all for sharing information and experiences of living abroad. My name is Cynthia❤❤ ❤❤❤❤
Same here. Don't sell your home. Take a HELOC and pull the equity out. Then rent your home out so your tenants are paying the mortgage and paying back the HELOC. That way if you come back you still have your home. Generational wealth is still crucial if you have kids
I just subscribed to your channel today having seen a previous video. Thank you for showing these ladies as i see myself in some of them. Amazing to learn how little we need to take that step! Great, great info👌🏼❤️
This is an amazing video! Roshida Thank You for this! I live in Atlanta, so Aja's story definitely "hits home" for me! This video shows how possible it is to leave the U.S. and live elsewhere!❤
I love this video. It was straight forward and to the point! Thank you Rashida for the video and thank you ladies for sharing vulnerable information that will us move abroad ❤❤❤
Thank you Aja Rutledge. Your story resonates so much. Because of life’s demands, I don’t have much to move with, but I am committed to making it work. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Thanks so much Rashida for these real life expience interviews they showe me I can do it too! I'm registered for the summit and an so looking forward to it!
THE TRANSPARENCY HERE AND THE DIRECT QUESTIONS WILL HELP SO MANY WOMEN!!! THANK YOU TO ALL FOR YOUR LOVE AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL WITH YOUR RIGHTEOUS DESIRES.
Roshida, best video. Plus, you are a great interviewer, too. For the ladies who have moved to a Spanish speaking city, what was it like in the beginning or even now. Do most of them speak Spanish, or do they find it easy enough to manage without Spanish?
I needed to hear this. Thank you so much, ladies, for your stories. Seeing you all and hearing how this move has enriched your lives gives me hope and fuels my desire to make a move and fulfill my destiny as well.❤
@roshida, I would love to hear stories on how this amazing community navigates and also embraces the cultural differences. Thank you again for this video. Still watching and soaking it all up 😊
Loved. Loved this. As always my question/fear is loneliness. If your guests are ever comfortable with having this questioned posed to them, I would really be grateful. Thank you for all the great content.
Do you mean have I felt lonely living abroad? If so, the answer is no. Was I ever afraid while living abroad? I was afraid that I might have to move back to the US but I didn't let that stop me from pursuing the life I wanted.
I have experienced loneliness abroad, in more recent years than previous years. There are several factors that can play into this as many people are transient or because they move abroad they're willing (and do) move again to other places. I also think different cities and situations play into this and either require more or less work to get plugged into a community. I've been in a city where community was incredibly easy to get plugged into and I've been in a city where it's felt more difficult. Another example is a mother with kids in the school system plugs in more easily than a mother who homeschools her kids just due to proximity of access to others in similar situations. You really have to focus on creating and building community, whether through online (before arriving), in person, and participating in things around town that connect you to the community you're in. Hope that helps.
Great question...I'm an introvert and I'm sure that helps me because I enjoy quiet time. But the truth is I keep in touch with my family via FaceTime regularly, I have a beautiful online community of friends and there are plenty of Black people here in Chiang Mai Thailand. They have Sunday dinner most Sundays and all kinds of planned activities. So I can honestly say I rarely get lonely. Now ask me about finding a man...That's going to be my next big project, because I do want somebody to rub my back and help with these suitcases and That can be a challenge anywhere on the globe.
Roshida, Thank you for having me. I want to encourage women over 50 to leave the things that no longer serve you. Find your slice of paradise. Yes it can be scary, but we've done the work. LOVED hearing Aja's story!🧡 1:17:01 Especially regarding the doctors in Mx and the freedom she exhibits. Very encouraging.
Thank you for your kind words! Aja's story is indeed powerful, and I'm thrilled to hear it has encouraged you!
I'm glad my story touched you. We can all do this!
All of the stories were good, but I think Aja's was more relatable to some of us who have not been teachers, medical workers, pensions, etc. Her move was truly an act of faith. Congratulations to all of ladies interviewed.
This is so awesome. I live in Peru 🇵🇪 and just started my TH-cam channel. This is such an inspiration 😊
@@Roshida definitely will be sharing it.
"I'm going to be the grandma at the airport that don't miss flights" I know that's right 😂
Awww 😂 I loved that part
Okkkk
I just love The Exodus Summit Community!! Thank You ladies for the valuable info!! Thank you all for being so transparent!!
Love it! We're basically the Avengers of information-here to save the day with transparency and valuable tips! 💛
36:36 I’m loving these interview vignettes!
Thank you so much for your kind words! It means a lot to know you're enjoying the content! 💛
Ladies 🛑 buying and shopping to save save save to move!! I’m headed out December 2025!! Selling house, car, plus my savings and 401K and pension not including SS. I’m getting prepared.
I am right behind you. I am researching and planning. I am tired. I am ready. Nice to see a reply similar to mine. Wish you well on your journey.
So proud of you ladies Go!!!!🎉
All of the questions were so great! Important questions that lead to transparent answers that provide actual prospective and possibilities.
I loved how transparent everybody was!
This was absolutely wonderful. I first attended Exodus Summit 2022 and moved abroad in March 2024.
Roshida, this was a great, great video. Women with different family and financial situations, countries and talents sharing their journey of living abroad is priceless. Thank you for this.
Thank you so much for your kind words! It means a lot to me to hear that you found value in the stories shared. 💛
Glad somebody brought up keeping the house for your kids. Needed to hear that.
@@DJ-cr8qb my kids didn’t want my lil house. But they’ll glad accept the cash
I took my dog with me to 3 of the countries I've lived in. To find out specific rules and regulations visit the APHIS site for pet travel.
Every time I listen to these conversations, I think about how I can put the equity in my home to work! Y’all are great influences!
You GOT this!! Enjoy your trip!!
LOL
I did a video on how to navigate life abroad away from loved ones th-cam.com/users/liveCc-3hDtWOek
Soo helpful & inspiring! It shows everyone’s journey is different but it is still possible!
I'm really glad you found it helpful! Everyone's journey truly is unique, but persistence pays off! 💛
This was outstanding. Thank you all for sharing!!!
Outstanding, huh? Now I've gotta figure out how to top that! Challenge accepted! 😉
I love these! Please do these videos more often!
I'm so glad to hear you love them! I'll definitely try to make more of these videos in the future!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts, and I’m thrilled you enjoyed the interview!
I appreciate all that you do Rashida, all of your guests resonated with me, Aja's journey was especially encouraging, because she took a risk and made it happen.
thank you. all my greatest experiences in life came from taking big risks. you got this!
Love these. Can you continue with episode 2&3? ❤This is very helpful
Thanks for watching! It took me two months to get this together and edit it - Part 2&3 may have to be ExodUS Summit 😂. Are you coming this year?
This is probably one of the most informative, enjoyable, honest videos I have watched and and kept my attention to be inspired to keep going. Roshida your questions were spot on.
Thanks again to all that shared to inspire others to keep going and moving forward.🥰
This is so eye opening & I love it! Thank you all so much. 🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️❤️
P.S. For anyone not aware re: lady from Puerta Villarta Mexico… BOLO is be on the lookout (for criminals)
@RoshidaDowe, this was great and very helpful. I have a teenage son, so I was particularly touched when Aja discussed her son feeling & being safe in Mexico.💙
It really touched me too. They all deserve space like that
Oh, my God. I needed this video. I don't have a lot of money. Thank you Ms. Roshida.
I'm so glad you found the video helpful! Remember, it's all about making the most of what you have. You've got this! I hope to see you at ExodUS Summit this year. 💛
This is exactly what I needed. Thank you all! Empowering!!!
Me too!
Thanks for this Roshida, and thank you to all the women who shared their stories! ❤ This was very inspiring! 🎉
This was awesome 💙I thank you and the ladies for sharing their stories 💙
Roshida, I’m so grateful to you for interviewing these ladies. This has helped me make a decision I’ve been contemplating for a long time. Thank you for this video.
I am watching from the future, the replay.
From the future? 😂 Thanks for watching! 💛
Great video. I appreciated everyone for being financially transparent. That helped a lot. And, the temporary Mexican visa info was helpful.
I’m catching up on the replays and this really resonated! I love the perspectives.
Awesome! So glad you’re enjoying the replays! Keep binge-watching, it’s like Netflix but better! 🎉
I am putting together my 20-year exodus plan. Thank you for this video.🎉
Thank you for this conversation, Roshida. I am one who has limited funds to move abroad. But, these ladies are showing me the How. 😊❤
Sounds like you're ready to turn your "limited funds" into "unlimited adventures"! Keep soaking up that knowledge and who knows where you'll end up! Will I see you at ExodUS Summit in October?
Yes, I'm ready!😊
Thank you so much Roshida for this! I’m so glad and thankful these women were so open, I’m so encouraged about getting my plan together to move.🤗
This was great 👍🏾 I just love to see and feel their calmness and ease displayed as they told their stories and answered questions 😊
Excellent content and informative! Hope to work with Shida soon! ❤🎉❤
Thank you for this!❤
Thank you so much for your kind words! I appreciate your support and I'm thrilled you found it useful! 💛
I just subscribed to your channel today having seen a previous video. Thank you for showing these ladies as i see myself in some of them. Amazing to learn how little we need to take that step! Great, great info👌🏼❤️
Thank you for providing this information Roshida, this is super helpful and Aja’s story spoke the most to me.
I'm so glad you found the video helpful! It's great to hear that the information resonated with you. 💛
Excellent video. Thanks!
This was a great video. Very informative! The speakers were great and very genuine. Your channel rocks!
Loved this!
💛 I guess I’m doing something right! I’ll try to keep the good vibes rolling! 😉💛
Good job, Roshida. Good to see women who moved abroad with little money. Most think it takes substantial monies.
Thank you! It’s inspiring to see more women taking the leap and showing that it’s possible to pursue their dreams, even on a budget!
Wow! I love this. I have been thinking about moving out of the US. Thinking about Costa Rico. So glad I came across your podcast. Loved it! Thank you

You are so welcome! Thanks for watching! 💛
Wonderful content that included thought-provoking, in-depth questions. Thank you Rashida
Thank you, ladies. Peace & Luv ❤️🔥 I am...
Thanks so much for watching! 💛
Replay watch, this video was amazing. Thank you Roshida & ladies. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Roshida, best video. Plus, you are a great interviewer, too. For the ladies who have moved to a Spanish speaking city, what was it like in the beginning or even now. Do most of them speak Spanish, or do they find it easy enough to manage without Spanish?
Great question. I too was wondering about the language barrier.
I needed to hear this. Thank you so much, ladies, for your stories. Seeing you all and hearing how this move has enriched your lives gives me hope and fuels my desire to make a move and fulfill my destiny as well.❤
This is so good ❤❤❤
Wow, what a relevant, interesting and inspiring topic. Wondering how Cami and husband manage the property from abroad?
@roshida, I would love to hear stories on how this amazing community navigates and also embraces the cultural differences. Thank you again for this video. Still watching and soaking it all up 😊
I appreciate your interest! There’s so much to learn from everyone’s unique experiences. Can’t wait to share more stories with you!
Love this video, thank you
This information is life changing 💯
Thanks for watching, Ali! 💛
Loved.
Thank you for responding so quickly. Also, for your openness about your finances. I greatly benefitted from your segment.
This does. I will be single no children. I never thought in building community before! Great idea.
Thanks for the transparency.
Much appreciated.
This is phenomenal!! As I sit here in DC bummed out. Job not going anywhere, housing is a issue and everything else. I NEED A CHANGE😢
@darlenejackson7140 Im in DC too about to rollout and go somewhere. Not sure where yet.
@@PI1901 you’re spot on. Good luck to you❤️
Very very very much enjoyed this interviews. Roshida!
