    Good video, you understand the knot and can show how to tie it properly. When I started tying them I got misled by others videos that show faulty ways to do this knot.

    You are the first reviewer of this product that actually talks about and shows “serving” or tightening the fg knot as your supposed to do.
    I’m just learning this know by hand. It’s been frustrating lol.
    But your review is awesome and very well demonstrated. I think I will buy this product now after watching your video….and still try practice thing by hand too.
    Thank you

    Great vid. Galveston fisherman here. Been trying FG for several months using the knot assist. One thing I've never done is alternate the half hitches, great idea! And never done the rizzuto finish. I didn't think you'd show me anything new but you did. Thank you sir! Subscribed!

    Friend of mine just demonstrated his tool yesterday to me tying an FG knot and it came out awesome. He said he ties all new leaders the night before. 👍👍

    I’ve had this tool for well over a year. It’s the only way I tie FG knots 🪢! Great tool! Great Video!
    &
    Great way to score a couple glasses of whiskey from a neighbour who can’t tie them! 😉

    Hey man, nice tool review. I was on the fence about this tool before watching your vid; needless to say, I just ordered it on Amazon. As for your video production, I have to give you an A+! Great delivery, great sound, great close-up shots, easy to understand, but most of all, having a sidekick sitting next to you is always a recipe for success!! Respect. Aloha, Dev

    Best $35 ever spent in all my fishing gear. Had it for a few years now, can do FG on the fly in under 1 minute. Great video!

    Great guide thanks! Seems good for some day before leader tying. That said no way I'm tying FG while out fishing if needed. Locked version of the albright will have to do if an emergency leader ty is needed. Will leave the on the water (or bank in my case) FG knots to the pros LoL

    I just wish you could have shown a close up of when the knot started to ball up and how you pulled it out. I kind of understand it but just would like the close up to see for certain. I have not tied this but think I will try it now. Thanks

    i recently bought a daiwa sukkou knot tieing tool, and find it excellent.
    but im told the knot is the surgeons knot
    I saw this online and thought that this could be an option for me.
    But practice makes perfect, like anything

    This video would have been better if the room was not so dark and if you stopped zooming so far out. If you need glasses to see when your up that close what makes you think your viewers can see it when you keep zooming so far out

    I tried tying this by hand a few times, had decent results, but it takes so long compared to an alberto, and I'm not convinced for smallmouth fishing, I even need it.

    • @JPDeRoseOutdoors
      @JPDeRoseOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It changed my approach to smallmouth fishing... 5lb PowerPro to an 8lb FC Leader is a mainstay for the vast majority of my finesse techniques now and being able to run super long leaders makes life a breeze!

    Nice review, this looks like something I could use. I've tried tying this knot a few times, went bank fishing and noticed just in time that the knot came undone before I made that last cast and lost the lure. I don't know if I'm not tying it properly or not giving enough when pulling the lines

    The FG is difficult if using light leader. If you are using typical offshore leader weights (50 to 80 pounds for me) it's much easier to tie.

      I absolutely love it for 5lb Power Pro to 8Lb FC Leader.

    Cool tool, just seems to take a lot of time off the water to tie a knot. I seen some tests that shows the Albright is only slightly weaker then the FG but much easier so I think I'll stick with it and spend more time fishing

    Great videos, very helpful. I am renewing my interst in fishing and would like to use the FG knot for ultralight lines. What test leader would you recommend with 6 pound braid?

    • @JPDeRoseOutdoors
      @JPDeRoseOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I personally run 6, 8 and up to 10 lb leader on 5 lb braid.

    If you forget to bring the "knot tool" just sit aside and watch others "fish on...OMG 🐟 😀" and take a long nap 😴 ..believe me it's the best method of getting more experiences and curiosity.

    I’m still challenged by this knot. I tie it and it looks textbook but when I do a break test the leader is breaking just in front of the knot. What am I doing wrong?

    Watching the first 2 wraps and I already hate it. It does not keep the lines tight enough which is the most important part of tying a great FG knot. Plus it is much slow then the way I tie an FG.

    I've seen this gadget on another channel. Where someone takes 20 minutes showing you how to tie one knot , and its not easy at all. Very very hard to remember all the steps , much less how to manipulate that gadget to be useful. I was thinking to myself , When I was 3 and I could not tie my shoes right. I knew how to do the first part good. The overhand knot. Then I said well , if I do like 10 of these , my shoes will never come untied. Thats what this thing makes me think. Plain and simple, If you need this device to tie a knot , any knot , I feel for you , because before you figure out how to use it , I've done rigged about 6 rods and caught three or four reds. No fish requires this kind of knot only , you can get by with a much more simple knot , without the assistance of this contraption. You know the best mouse trap? Victor makes them , you know the best tool to tie a knot , your fingers , your mother and father made them.
