I'm well into retirement age, and no longer do the possibly crazy things I used to, but am still fairly active. This original SRK is still my general purpose go-to knife. I am a bit skeptical about the long-term durability of Cold Steel's modern SRK's, but the original can't be beat.
Both my srks have had wiggly handles as well the only thing that holds it on is that brass lanyard tube so really if you want to get rid of the wiggle you should pop the handle off and epoxy it back on and it should be good to go on that
That was my first thought. But as a TH-camr, it's good for the channel to explore new things and feature new knives. And besides, variety is the spice of life😂
I used an SRK in carbon steel for years. Then used a K-BAR for a year or so. Went back to the SRK and then decided it better. Finally upgraded to a 3V version and haven't looked back. The SRK is, to me, the best choice.
I work outdoors year round. I need a knife this size for numerous chores. I kept seeing reviews criticizing this knife like it's a $200 plus fixed blade. "We' tried to hack through a car door and the blade chipped" type stuff. This is a value driven set up made out of a very good steel for its purpose. I got the plain edge clip point nice basic design. Grip is good for my hand. I have other Cold Steel's that I love. I figured this will probably be no exception to the rule. Even the sheath which is very utilitarian meh at best will be used. My question was is it durable, will it secure the blade?, and you answered that. Thanks for the great , and relevant, review! Cheers. P.S. If you're willing to spend up to $150 consider the CS AK47 Fixed Blade. That thing is a sleeper. You know, I was just looking at the AK-47 fixed blades. I may have to grab one to test! Thanks for watching, man! The SRK is an outdoorsman's best friend!
I just ordered 4 of these. Two for me and two as gifts. I've been prepping, so, I can't have just one. I ordered 10 of the compact srks. 6 for gifts and 4 for me. I'm happy to hear you like yours so much. What did you get to replace it?
I own most of the knives listed above (including several SRKs) and can honestly say that the ESEE 6 is the best choice for the money and what you’ve described it will be used for. If you want to save a little, Ontario’s RAT-7 is another great option. Of course, the fit and finish isn’t quite up to ESEE specs, and the sheath is a soft nylon/cordura blend. However, it’s a tough, full tang 7 inch blade (with Micarta scales) that can be purchased for around $75-80. Good luck in your search..
If you’re looking for a good all purpose “field knife” style knife I recommend you check out a Peltonen Ranger puuko. It’s a Finnish made knife. It’s used by their military and law enforcement. Imagine a Glock field knife crossed to a bushcrafting knife. Runs about $100-$115 dollars.
Definatly a great knife for the price. If your looking to keep it USA I'd suggest Kabar, Tops,or Esee all have 1095 which is very similar to Sk5 (which is similar to 1084 steel) and are available in a variety of sizes. Bark River and Bradford are more expensive options but offer better steel choices such as 3V or Magnacut. Condor also makes inexpensive fixed blades in carvbon steel as well. Your going to be hard pressed though to find the price vs performance value of the Cold Steel ones in other knives. Thanks for the great vid and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable
I have one of Survival Lilly’s knives, which is designed to emulate the SRK. I had never had a knife before that is that rugged. I have a Buck Personal knife for food and game prep, and light camp chores. But, when the going gets rough, the survival knife gets the jobs done. I think the SRK is a good example of a survival knife. Actually, I also whittled out a couple pairs of carrying handles for canoes with the Lilly knife. I came to appreciate the full handle. The SRK should perform very similarly. Courtesy of Half Vast Flying
You can try other knives, but you will find yourself coming back to the SRK. I have a big collection but I always carry my SRK to get the job done. If my handle ever got too damaged, I would make a new handle or buy another SRK.
Get the san mai version its on sale quite often. Maybe even a Joker Nomad which is one of my favorite camp knives all time. It’s comparable to my Bark River bravo 1.
I love my srk compact so much I found the 'true value' of my more expensive knives waining so got rid of them and now just use the srk and esee 3. Keep up the good work brother.
Great video! I have a San Mai edition SRK which doesn't get used because im not an outdoorsman yet, but it keeps slicing paper like a champ lol. Im a huge fan of Cold Steel👍🔪!
I ordered the olive drab version of this knife off Knife Center's website for $37 last night! Hell of a deal on a hardcore knife. Only thing I plan to do to it is add an esse acc. pouch to the sheath.
Great score! I recently bought that same knife and I have a few videos about it if you're interested 👍😁 th-cam.com/video/l3mxqVe2lFQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_I5QeRcH1nKy2d4y
Now there is one fixed blade that I like and that's the more series I have a plastic sheath that will clip on your belt or clip on your pocket or your backpack and it just won't fall off there's a good clip on it they are lightweight very sharp and they're inexpensive I used to wear my cold steel on my waist religiously now it's on my backpack and the more is clipped on my pocket because it is so light and accessible
I've looked into that one and it looks great, but I prefer a clip point or drop point for outdoors stuff. But I do need a new under-the-seat-of-my-truck knife.....👍
I'm not sure what equipment, if any, you have but I've sharpened the SRK many times on a Work Sharp field sharpener. The 20 degree guides it comes with are great for about any blade 👍
@gideonsstuff its that beveled edge that concerns me. I ave been using nothing but a fine grain stone and ive had the knife 25 years. Always been scared of ruining the blade. Thanks for letting me know what to get!
The SRK is the knife that I’ve repurchased the most. The price point is such a good value. I currently have 5 of them distributed into various kits and in vehicles. It’s truly all purpose.
I had to save this to "watch later," but have a question. Cold Steel has changed ownership. I'm interested in the SRK and SRK compact but have heard quality has gone down since the ownership change and some of these knives have manufacturing/quality issues. Can you comment on the quality of their knives now? 6/6/24
Yes. I bought a recent SRK a few months ago. I have another whole video about that, if you're interested. I'll link it. But long story short, I think the SRK is still an amazing knife and I haven't noticed an appreciable quality decline in this model. th-cam.com/video/l3mxqVe2lFQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=94902J4bJTkiQzBy Thanks for watching!
I want to review other knife designs on the channel and test a variety of knives. The SRK is an incredible knife, but I want to compare it against other options. This video: th-cam.com/video/4PK1JrYPsoE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=8vE4bxJOp8obwNSh shows what I got as a replacement as well as other blades to test and review 👍
Get three SRKs, then take the old one and make a new grip for it, or better, send it to Cold Steel and see if they'll put a new grip on it. My son lost my old KA-Bar and I have one of these on order. Really looking forward to giving it a try. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for watching, man! I did end up repairing the handle myself, but unfortunately the knife was stolen from me a few months later. I got another SRK, but man I miss this old one😂
What's the highest temperature and you have taken it to? Let me clarify I live in Arizona. Rubber grips on any utility tool seem to wear out a lot quicker. I have to change the grips out on my Honda XR650R Every year. I don't have the same death grip that I did in the sixties when I started riding. But that he can turn things into mush out here sometimes. Last year wasn't too bad we only had 14 days above 115 degrees.
I do a lot of field work near Las Cruces and White Sands New Mexico, so similar summertime temperatures. 100+ degrees is the norm with occasional peaks around 115. I suppose the heat could play a significant role in wear to the handle, but I hadn't deeply considered it before. Thanks for watching and sharing!👍
Mine is CARBON-V Made in USA Bought in the early 90’s It’s been used rather lightly for the past ten years because I realized that it is a bit desired, as is my TRAILMASTER in CARBON-V purchased at the same time. It may sound kinda silly but I cherish them both and will never sell either one. I wish I’d bought a dozen each.
I've almost bought another SRK so many times😂 As a reviewer though, it's good for the channel to try new things and get some testing in. I'm currently testing the Strongarm, and enjoying it! Thanks for watching, man!👍
i dont understand why cs doesnt make the srk with fulltang and regular scales, the rubber doesnt hold up over time and its hard to replace the handle, but as for replacement the ontario RAK is a good fixed blade if you can hunt one down i think they are discontinued
It would be cool to see an SRK with different scales. The knife is full tang, and the rubber is overmolded. I think they did it that way primarily for shock absorption and comfort. It is very difficult to replace though 😂 Thanks for watching!👍
My first recommendation, if you can find one, is the Buck GCK with a spear point (or tanto if you like). Fantastic design with 5160 spring steel and a great factory sheath. After that Honestly, it sounds kind of redundant and obvious, but at your stated budget, I don’t know if you can do much better than a ESEE 6. I think that you should definitely set a standard of having a true full tang with bolt on scales, on your next edc fixer. Lastly, if you went with a smaller 4” blade, I personally switch back and forth with my ESEE 4 and my Tops SH4 with modified sheath, as my edc’s. Enjoy the excitement of the quest to find your new blade 🤙🏼
Good review. I completely agree wth all you say about the SRK, and you describe its features very well. You didn't mention why the snap on the sheath broke. My only criticism is all the sun flsre on the right hand side of your video. This does change by the end, but moving the camera a little would have lost all the flare, and I wonder why you didn't. But other than that, good video. I agree it's such a great knife to handle and use, and for the price is probably the best knife for your buck. Like you use mine all the time.
That's a good knife bro, you could just get a new one. I am gonna get one and try it out after watching your video. One you may want to try is the Gerber lmf 2 Infantry knife. I love mine, and it's beefy and tough. It's like the strong arm on steroids lol. A bit bigger and heavier though, but it feels good in my hands. Try it out.
@@gideonsstuff Got it.. no worries, just checking (I’ve been off knife news for a few years). My most used knives are Terava Skrama 240, CS AD-10 lite and CS Roach Belly; in that order. The rest gets their rotation too once in a while.. except for my Recon Tanto San Mai (that one stays in my bedroom and hasn’t stabbed anything yet)
There are several mods of this knife as it evolved. AUS8 SK-5 3V or SanMai Which steel is it made of? You could have mentioned the most important information in your video so that we all know what you are talking about.
It's SK-5, which I mention several times in the video such as at 5:58 and 9:25, as well as showing a close up of the blade steel marking towards the beginning.
That was my first instinct, but variety is the spice of life and I figured it would be good for the channel to test out other designs. I might go for the other SRKs anyway though👍😂😂
I love the SRK! I have it in a few iterations. I have the SK5, VG10, and 3V ($99 at Midway with the 10% subscribers discount). There is another economical knife that Coldsteel makes that just as good if not better, its the Recon Tanto! It's a better batoning and chopping knife. The 7"+ blade gives more length to enable a better swing. I have the SK5 and the VG10 version but wish they still make the 3V. Try it out, its under $40 at Midway for the SK5, and $80 for the VG10! Those are awesome values for a wonderful knife!
You may replace it only with a CPM-3V SRK - which brings better edge retention, better corrosion resistance without the black coating (which is toxic and dangerous for food preparation), and slightly better toughness too (but which you won't notice if you have never broke this SK-5 one). 🎉
I love Cold Steel knives. I got the Cold Steel Kobun that I keep on a dolly with my other “equipment.” I got the SRK-C that I carry everyday as a self defense knife. And I got the Peace Maker 3 that carry when my girl and I walk the jr. high track. It’s very light and small. Bring your price up to $200 and buy the TOPS MPAT. Most likely I’m gonna purchase that knife soon, myself.
It might be possible to fix the loose handles using slow set epoxy and injecting it with a needle syringe where the blade joins the handle. If the handle is still good and the blade is still good, why replace it? The rust spots you showed are nothing that can't be treated with a dab of vinegar or phosphoric acid. For the price, weight, and performance the CS SRK will be hard to beat. Maybe a Ka-Bar BK-6 or BK-16 or BK-18, but definitely not the over promoted/hyped BK-2 (a 16 ounce pry bar is just too much for me). For a big blade, I like the BK-21 -- it just takes some getting used to. For general purpose/survival, I like the ESEE Laser Strike (4.75" blade with 4.5 cutting edge). For lower cost blades the Mora Kansbol or Mora Companion HD (although I find the regular Companion handle to be more comfortable for my hand) or Condor Terrasaur are great. For a folding knife, the Cold Steel Voyager XL or Raja II (you gotta love Cold Steel's crazy looking folders, especially the Spartan or the Espada XL). Sorry this message is 6 months late, but this video just showed up on my view list. At first glance, I thought you were gideonstactical.
Thanks for watching and commenting, man! I appreciate the feedback. You might be interested in the video I posted today, where I unbox some new fixed blades😁 I have fixed the handle on my SRK and continued to use it for a long time, but it's good for the channel to explore new things. And yeah, I named my channel before I knew about gideonstactical. But Aaron and I are on good terms, and my name is actually Gideon so it works out 😂
I agree 100%, and it's not just a knife the sheath is pretty awesome, too I've ordered a lot of knives and after I get them I look at them and say these are so so, and the ones that are pretty good knives have crappy sheaths , I've got a box of knives probably 50 or so that I will not wear just because they have a crappy sheath
One of the best fixed blades for the money. I have the AUS 8 and san mai version. I also have the sk5 recon scout. The Recon Scout is a bit on n the heavy side though.
The Gerber's a nice knife, pretty good sheath nice beefy blade little too thick I would rather have a flat grind or scandi of course it wouldn't be near as durable as it is now but it will not replace your srk I know that I've got one
I’d say you still have a ton of life left in it. Midway has a sale right now and every once in a while. I just grabbed the 3v one for 109 and the sk5 one is 35. Also recently got the 3v recon scout for 199 from them. As far as a user goes that you can care less about what happens to it. Look into the Esee 6. Doesn’t matter what happens to it they will replace it if something goes wrong. The steel is similar so it will feel normal to you as well. The mh version will feel similar in shape to the srk as well. Not exact but similar. Those are my recommendations anyway
Thanks for the suggestions man! I've continued to use the SRK and it's doing alright, but definitely showing it's age. I might try for one of those sales.
I do love the SRK, but I do want to feature new knives on the channel and review a broader range of fixed blades. The Becker Companion is a great suggestion. Thanks for watching!👍
It's a classic! Here's a follow up to this video, if you're interested: th-cam.com/video/l3mxqVe2lFQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=UB2-_pWlPwWss_3q Thanks for watching!
I really love my SRK, but my biggest complaint is the sheath. My sheath is extremely tight on the knife, and it's pretty much impossible to draw with one hand. Even trying to push it out with my thumb is very difficult. Does anybody else have this problem?
I haven't had that problem exactly. However, I got a new SRK that is a little tighter in the sheath than my old one. I also got a Demko Freereign that is almost impossible to draw one handed, and it's sheath is similar to the SRK. I've tried rubbing mineral oil on the spot where the sheath locks the knife in and it helps a bit. Thanks for watching!
I know this was months ago but my suggestion none the less is Utica UTK11UTKS4 stealth IV fixed blade. They also make a 3”, 6”, and a 7”. I recommend the 4” it is the best of everything. Utica makes a amazing knife. I carry the neck knife everyday. The knife I recommend is incredible I just can’t carry a belt knife in the city I’m stuck in right now. My 2 other knives I use all the time the mora Garberg an the BPS adventurer. I like the scandi for wilderness activity. The Utica will do anything those knives will do and I always have my Utica neck knife but neck knives are a acquired taste. Also when I bought my UTKN2 they only cost $40 now they are $80. I still feel it’s a deal but I can’t speak for everyone. At $40 it was unbelievable. Really hard to beat a SRK if I was you I would just buy the 3v version. Why look for something when you have what you like. I was taught skills Trump equipment. If you can do everything with your SRK why change. I personally don’t buy expensive knives they never do anything the cheap ones can’t. Usually the expensive knives will fail before a cheap knife. What many don’t understand is why Lynn Thomson made coldsteel. He is a martial artist and hunter. He couldn’t find knives that were made and designed for real world stuff. Coldsteel really changed everything. Affordable real knives that are capable of the task they were designed for. If you look nowadays we have knives designed by everyone but must are just gimmicks. Regardless of how people feel about Lynn he changed everything. I have no problem carrying anything he designed. Just my opinion I’m a ex army Ranger and martial artist myself. I study Filipino martial arts for the last 10 years so I have a good idea on knives.
@@gideonsstuff can’t go wrong with one their a very old American company. Funny thing I’ve never seen a video on the neck knife seen one on all the other outdoor knives. It like a very good secret. Well I wish you luck on your hunt!
@@gideonsstuff Fair enough, sometimes if something works, I stick with it. I carried an SRK in Iraq, and loved it. But I understand what you're saying too.
To be honest, if you love SRK so much & are willing to spend upwards of $200.. get the 3V version. Alternatively.. look in to ESEE Knives.. like the ESEE 5 maybe. They have the best lifetime warranty in the knife industry. They will replace a broken knife, no matter what. Even of you don't have proof of purchase.. even if you buy it used. Even of you tell them you were using it chip away at slag on welds (they appreciate people telling them how they broke their product - but they will will replace it no matter whay). You can read about their Lifetime Warranty & see picture of knives they replaced over the years. I've used the warranty for a broken ESEE 3 that I was using wrong as a prybar because I didn't have the "correct tool" with me in the moment. So I can confirm their Lifetime Warranty in legitimate.
Wow!! Your AD-15 looks exactly like my AD-10!.... Well, you can always just get a new SRK with a Flat Dark Earth handle.... Or an ESEE-6 would fit your budget... Or just go nuts and get a Fallkniven A1
I did, but I also wanted to broaden my horizons and review new knives. The unboxing of my new SRK and several other fixed blades was posted to my channel about a month ago. Check it out if you're interested!👍
I just bought a few of the Cold Steel Monolithic Drop Forged series. I got the Survivalist, the Boot Dagger and the Hunter. No worries about the handles getting loose on those, they’re one piece drop forged 52100. The Survivalist might be a good new fixed blade for you. The San Mai SRK may have the same handle problems after a while.
Extrema Ratio Selvans…after being caught in the endless cycle of searching for the perfect fixed blade (40+ knives) for camping/bushcraft/firewood processing the Selvans was the one that put an end to my search. Its an absolute beast of a knife and does everything well.
Kudos on the channel. Enjoying the vids man. Everything you’ve said about the SRK I echo with the Selvans. I’ve had it from way before it became super popular on all the big channels. I just stumbled into finding it. Its a bit pricey but well worth the spend. It has been in my pack for every camp out/cook out since ive had it. Best of luck with the channel!
Don't replace it upgrade it get one with a different steel you cannot replace a cold steel srk unless you want to go to something like a Falcon whatever $200 or a Demco $150 or maybe a zero-tolerance $300 I have four srk's how about two years ago with the good Steel ones made in Japan and two sk-5 and I gifted one of them to a young friend of mine
That is a badazz blade man, especially awesome with its sentimental attachment. There's some knives that are on my list that I'll absolutely get some day for one reason or another, here's a short list, Terava Jaakaripuukko 110, Morakniv Garberg, KA-BAR Becker BK2 Campanion Fixed Blade Knife, Ka-Bar Becker BK9 Combat Bowie Fixed Blade Knife. So many sweet blades out there, the first will be the 110 as I've wanted one forever and those leather sheaths look gorgeous. Love the scenery there at that moment.
PS: Look up Joe X's video where he hammers that Jaakaripuuko into a tree and does multiple pull ups with his full body weight off the ground and it doesn't bend. His videos are till knives break, so you really get to see what the limits are, haha.
Oh money....if only I had you. Even if i had you I wouldn't really HAVE you cause it'd all go towards more knives but I'd still like the ability to spend money 😂

I have a Buck Personal knife for food and game prep, and light camp chores. But, when the going gets rough, the survival knife gets the jobs done. I think the SRK is a good example of a survival knife.
Actually, I also whittled out a couple pairs of carrying handles for canoes with the
Lilly knife. I came to appreciate the full handle. The SRK should perform very similarly.

Thanks for sharing, man! I haven't looked at Survival Lilly's knives before, maybe I will now👍
I don't know what to get *pulls put knife from nowhere* should I get this?
Yes. Absolutely 😂
You can try other knives, but you will find yourself coming back to the SRK. I have a big collection but I always carry my SRK to get the job done. If my handle ever got too damaged, I would make a new handle or buy another SRK.
I'm starting to suspect that's true. I've been thinking hard about what knife to get, and the SRK is the only one in my mind. It's too darn good😂
Get the san mai version its on sale quite often. Maybe even a Joker Nomad which is one of my favorite camp knives all time. It’s comparable to my Bark River bravo 1.
I've been hearing a lot of good things about Joker knives. I should probably try them out 😂
I just saw another video that showed that the handles can come loose. I like mine but really don't like molded handles.
I like the comfort they provide. Squirt a little epoxy into the gaps and it'll fix the looseness 👍
I love my srk compact so much I found the 'true value' of my more expensive knives waining so got rid of them and now just use the srk and esee 3. Keep up the good work brother.
Right on! It's hard to argue with just how great the SRK is. Thanks for watching, man!
Great video! I have a San Mai edition SRK which doesn't get used because im not an outdoorsman yet, but it keeps slicing paper like a champ lol.
Im a huge fan of Cold Steel👍🔪!
Thanks for watching, man! I hope you have a lot of adventures with your SRK in the future👍
I ordered the olive drab version of this knife off Knife Center's website for $37 last night!
Hell of a deal on a hardcore knife.
Only thing I plan to do to it is add an esse acc. pouch to the sheath.
Great score! I recently bought that same knife and I have a few videos about it if you're interested 👍😁

Mora makes great knives!
if you like that, maybe try the RECON TANTO
I've looked into that one and it looks great, but I prefer a clip point or drop point for outdoors stuff. But I do need a new under-the-seat-of-my-truck knife.....👍
@@gideonsstuff I have that exact knife in that exact place!
@@OldTantoGuy What an awesome coincidence 😂😂
@@gideonsstuff Plus having a tanto under your seat is good luck! (OK, I just made that up, but EVERYONE needs more tantos in their lives!!) 😀😉👍
I need to sharpen my SRK, It is a bit tricky for me does anyone have any input. advice on how to do so? Angles and stones? Thanks in advance.
100% agree. It's an amazing knife. Thanks for watching, man!👍
I had to save this to "watch later," but have a question.
But long story short, I think the SRK is still an amazing knife and I haven't noticed an appreciable quality decline in this model.

what did you ever end up getting? And If that is such a great knife why not just keep using it?
I want to review other knife designs on the channel and test a variety of knives. The SRK is an incredible knife, but I want to compare it against other options. This video:

Good video on an excellent knife, i own one very satisfied 😊

Awesome life. Awesome video. I have and SRK in CPM-3V and another in San Mai. I’m going to get one in SK5 soon.
Thanks for watching, man! Can't go wrong with an SRK in any steel👍😁
Sounds like you would like the esee 6
It's on the to-get list 😂
Thanks for watching, man!
Mine is CARBON-V
Made in USA
Bought in the early 90’s
It’s been used rather lightly for the past ten years because I realized that it is a bit desired, as is my TRAILMASTER in CARBON-V purchased at the same time.
It may sound kinda silly but I cherish them both and will never sell either one.
I wish I’d bought a dozen each.
Not silly at all! Those sound like amazing knives!👍
I just bought one gonna take it afield this weekend give some work , my favorite up to now is the gerber strongarm, we’ll see how the srk Stache up
Why not another srk??
I've almost bought another SRK so many times😂
As a reviewer though, it's good for the channel to try new things and get some testing in.
It is very difficult to replace though 😂
Thanks for watching!👍
Thanks for the recommendations, man! I'll have to look into all of those 👍😁

Thanks for watching, man!👍 The snap broke when I took a little tumble down the mountain and it snagged on a root or branch 😂

There are several mods of this knife as it evolved. AUS8 SK-5 3V or SanMai
Which steel is it made of?
You could have mentioned the most important information in your video so that we all know what you are talking about.
It's SK-5, which I mention several times in the video such as at 5:58 and 9:25, as well as showing a close up of the blade steel marking towards the beginning.

Here's a radical thought - how about replacing your veteran with a brand new SRK San Mai III version? Or a 3v version?
That was my first instinct, but variety is the spice of life and I figured it would be good for the channel to test out other designs. I might go for the other SRKs anyway though👍😂😂
@@gideonsstuff 🤣🤣
Came across your video, I would go Esee 5/6 can’t go wrong.
Thanks for watching and the recommendation!👍
I love the SRK! I have it in a few iterations. I have the SK5, VG10, and 3V ($99 at Midway with the 10% subscribers discount). There is another economical knife that Coldsteel makes that just as good if not better, its the Recon Tanto! It's a better batoning and chopping knife. The 7"+ blade gives more length to enable a better swing. I have the SK5 and the VG10 version but wish they still make the 3V. Try it out, its under $40 at Midway for the SK5, and $80 for the VG10! Those are awesome values for a wonderful knife!
Thanks for watching, man! Its hard to beat the SRK. Fantastic knife. 👍😁
mine tip broke off in like the first few stabs tries.
Well that's unfortunate
@@gideonsstuff let's hope they warranty it. I sent the info waiting to hear back
@@RCPropaganda I hope they take care of it for you!
You may replace it only with a CPM-3V SRK - which brings better edge retention, better corrosion resistance without the black coating (which is toxic and dangerous for food preparation), and slightly better toughness too (but which you won't notice if you have never broke this SK-5 one). 🎉
Thanks for watching, man! I will add a 3V SRK to my collection soon👍
Take a look at the Spartan Harsey Fighter.
Thsnks for the suggestion!👍
I love Cold Steel knives. I got the Cold Steel Kobun that I keep on a dolly with my other “equipment.”
I got the SRK-C that I carry everyday as a self defense knife. And I got the Peace Maker 3 that carry when my girl and I walk the jr. high track. It’s very light and small. Bring your price up to $200 and buy the TOPS MPAT. Most likely I’m gonna purchase that knife soon, myself.
I hadn't considered the MPAT, but it does look good. Thanks for the suggestion!👍

Thanks for the input, man! I'll check out the Utica brand for sure. It's always nice to show off a variety of knives on the channel👍😁

Thanks for watching, man👍
To be honest, if you love SRK so much & are willing to spend upwards of $200.. get the 3V version.
