I'm a family doctor and love how well Ozempic helps my patients get their weight down, sugars down AND protect their hearts and kidneys as well. I've shared your original Ozempic video for years and now will share this one as well. Thanks so much PA David. Lotsa love to all from Toronto ♥♥♥

As a doctor, you sound more like an influencer for ozempic. You should know that medication for life, to enable people to still eat wrong but bandaid the results is poor practice. I went carnivore diet at 63. Effortlessly lost 75lbs, cured every chronic illness I had from arthritis to cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Im on zero meds. Cured all my 50yrs of ibs and gastric reflux and bloating and abdominal pain in the first 2 weeks. Med free. Curiously, my doctor told me to eat even more fibre. Ive had zero fibre for a year, my gut health completely normalised and is background now. Zero fibre. Everything is upside down and wrong.

How does it protect the kidneys?

    • @johnallen7367
      @johnallen7367 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@winged_embrace it doesn't. All medications have side effects and require the kidneys to work harder. Ozempic is a bandaid for people too lazy to eat better. T2 diabetes is completely reversible by eliminating sugar and carbs. Every time. Trouble is, most people can't be bothered, and the medical profession won't tell you because there is no money in curing you, but a river of money in treating and managing illness.

Thank you for sharing. I have been on Ozampic since Aug 14th 2023 and as of today my weight is down 85 pounds.I go for my A1C check on April 4th but I know it has to be better than the 9.9 that it was when I started. All I see is the negative side effects, I have been lucky, my only side effects have been constipation and burps. I am 61 and have had weight issues and type 2 all my adult life. I have tried every diet and they work for a bit but the cravings were always there. With Ozempic they are gone, it is a miracle for me. For me the benefits outweigh the risks.

I lost 75lbs on Carnivore, and have kicked my heart meds. I reversed my t2 diabetes in 3 weeks. I cured my arthritis, ibs, gastric reflux, depression, anxiety ,prostate problems, joint pain, sleep apnoea, inflammation, snoring and other issues in short time. Im 63, and I have regained my life and my power. Im back in the workplace now shaming guys half my age. Im med free. My physical and mental health is nothing short of magical. Im never hungry, never tired. Ozempic is a trap. You know it is. The medical industry no longer wants to cure you, just treat you forever. Be free, its easier than you think. I eat meat eggs a little dairy, once a day. Saturated fat. I eat no sugar, carbs, processed foods, seed oils, plant food. No fibre. I cant ever remember feeling so alive. Remember photos from 100 yrs ago where everyone looked healthy and thin, and fat kids were a curious anomoly, well i eat pretty much what they ate, and now i am lean, med free, and feel like ive wound back 30yrs. Please, free yourself of the trap you already recognise. Good luck to you.

I have been overweight for most of my 58 years. I have been a T2 diabetic for well over 25 years. At some points in my life, I didn’t care because nothing I did seemed to help me. Fast forward to 285 pounds, I relented and said to my NP, if I give ozempic a try and it doesn’t work for both my T2 diabetes and my weight, I’m going for gastric banding. This pharmaceutical is a miracle. My symptoms were mild and was only nausea. I was thankful for that. But, the most miraculous part is how my hunger cut out! I do OMAD, and it’s not a low carb, keto, carnivore, ketovore or weight watchers type meal. I eat what I want and do not have to control the portion because I get full quickly. To me, it’s like have a gastric banding in an injection. I get my weight and A1C checked in early April. I’m hopeful and happy. For the first time in years, my grazing and hunger are in control.

At 69, took Ozempic almost 2.5 months for type II diabetes. Stayed at the 0.25 mg dose the whole time. First month I had no symptoms and didn't see a huge decrease in blood sugars. Second month started to have bowel issues which caused abdominal pain and tenderness. Was only using the bathroom once a week with hardly any relief. Began to worry I might possibly develop acbowel obstruction, which at my age is a possibility. I stopped taking Ozempic a week ago and finally have no pain. My blood sugars did go down, I lost an avg of 1.5" in size but I felt the risk outweighed the benefit.

I have been on Ozempic for about 9 months now, and the results have been incredible. I started @ .25 mg for the first month, and have been on 0.5 mg since then. At the start of therapy, my A1C was 8.0 and my weight was at 376 (largely due to me overeating from sugar lows from Glipizide, which my doctor discontinued when he put me on Ozempic). Within 3 months, my A1C was down to 6.4, and has remained at that level since (my last test was about a month ago). The weight loss is even more dramatic. I am now down to 285 lbs - a weight loss of around 90 lbs!
I am currently also on Jardiance and Insulin, though my insulin dosage has dropped significantly to around 15 units 2x a day. On my next doctor visit, I'm going to check with the Dr. and see if I might be able to eliminate one or both of the other meds if I increased the dosage on this one. I do have some concerns about the sugar dropping too low though.

I am 71 and have been on Ozempic for about 10 months. My second last A1C was 6.2 down from 8.2!!!!! But for some reason , my carb cravings have come back like gang busters and my last A1C was 7. 4. My will power has been sabotaged and I'm not sure why. I haven't lost weight ( no surprise) and my sleep patterns are terrible and that might a strong factor in my eating problems. I just keep on trying.
I do have a day about 2 or 3 days after my shot, where I feel flush, and then have an emense bowel movement followed by a very quick watery stool. So for about 4 hours that day, I'm unable to leave the house and I feel sick. After the BM, I'm fine and the rest of the week is great.

I wish my doctor had explained that to me before hand. I did not do well with Ozempic. I was not even aware that there were different dosages and the sudden increase made me really sick. The first month on it was great and tolerable, but after she increased the dosage I just had to stop. I am doing trulicity now and she wants to increase that dosage too. Why is the goal to increase the dosage, I am aiming to come off all medications once I reach my a1c goals. Some days I am not even hungry and I can go all day without eating. My goal is to create healthier habits with food but sometimes I feel that the one meal I had for dinner 15 hours ago is still in my throat. I have lost about 30 lbs and never had the explosive diarrhea or severe nausea and 1mg seems to be a good maintainance dose for me! I am thrilled to learn of the benefits for my ckd! i have plateu'd at 155# but feel very good! my A1c last month was 6.4% down from 6.5% six months prior! Been on ozempic in Australia since not log after it was introduced here. It has brought my glucose down from 8 to 11 mmol/L to 4.5 to 6.8 mmol/l. When Ozempic was not available thanks to those using it just to lose weight, my levels jumped back up to high 8s to 11.5 mmol/L and this was even with solastar insulin replacing the Ozempic whilst it was not available. Another positive is I have lost 13.5kg without any exercise resume added. I really have not had any major side effects at all. At most the odd discomfort in the stomach but not consistent and not enough to worry about. Not really had any headache. I am also on Gliclazide and Metformin twice a day. The Qzempic does not really stop me from feeling hungry anymore, but with the initial time of eating smaller meals when it did at the start, I have grown accustomed to smaller serving sizes now feel full and most snacking is now just a piece of fruit. I was on Trulicity before Ozempic but it never had the same effect,

I have type 1 diabetes, and it has cut my insulin needs about 1/4. Although I haven't lost much, if at all, weight on it it helps me not to constantly be hungry all the time. I used to be hungry all the time, no matter how much I ate.

Ive been taking Ozempic for over six months. The side effects were extremely bad after I increased to 0.5 so my doctor and I agreed I could take the 0.25 dose twice a week instead of the 0.5 once a week. The side effects are mostly good but with once a month diarrhea that comes on without warning. My A1c has dropped from 8.5 to 6.3 so it is working well even if I have to endure the bad side effect. If I walk 5000 steps three times a week I lose weight. Lost 37lbs so far.

I've been on Trulicity for a while now...but because of the nationwide shortage and inability to get a prescription filled, my physician switched to Ozempic, starting with the low dose. I start tomorrow but for some reason, I"m nervous. My side effects in the beginning with Trulicity were nausea and diarrhea but that went away. I guess I don't want that again! So...tomorrow's the day...and because of Trulicity, I now have an A1c of 5.9 and fasting BS in the morning of 109. I have not lost any weight, though so maybe that will change with Ozempic. Great update and great to see you posting again. I started out on Victoza last year and then towards the end of the years stock was impossible to get hold of here in the UK so I got moved over to Trulicity and I should be going on to the 4.5mg version but once again stock is a huge problems so I can't even get hold of 3mg or 1.5mg so I am attempting to get the 0.75mg just to have something. It seems all of these drugs keep being prescribed for weight management rather than for the diabetics they were meant for which means nothing is left for us diabetics. I wish the companies making these drugs would make a considerable amount more to cover demand as there is clearly a market for it and them making more is printing money for them.

My PA-c agreed to let me lower my weekly dosage to .5 mg instead of the full 1.0 mg. I also eat a Keto lifestyle anyway, but my A1C seems to have stalled at 6.2 over the course of a year on the 1mg dose. I'm trying to maintain the 6.2 while taking only .5mg weekly. The compounded semaglutide is really intended for research purposes and are often made from salt forms of semaglutide, which are somewhat different from what would be in an actual Ozempic or Wegovy injector pen. They can technically avoid copyright laws if it's sold during a drug shortage, but the FDA issued a warning against this practice, as the safety and efficacy has not been determined. I started taking Ozempic for weight loss and diabetes type 2. I started with the lowest dose and worked my way up to 1mg dose after 4 weeks. As soon as I took the 1 mg dose after 3 weeks my digestion slowed right down to a stop. I was eating less and losing weight but did not go to the bathroom for 2 weeks. It was HORRIBLE! Stopped me right up. I actually had to take a suppository for the first time in my life, never had any issues with being regular. So I stopped the Ozempic and had to go on the master cleanse (lemonade with fresh lemons, maple syrup, no food, water, cayenne pepper to stimulate the bowels, and a tea to promote bowel movement) and it was still another week before I could go to the bathroom. Not a good result for me....have not resumed taking it either.

In Australia the 2mg isn’t available for diabetics (yet). I’ve been on ozempic for about 8 months now and have lost over 10kg. About 90 down to about 78. But the biggest difference is the levelling out of my sugar peaks after meals and exercise. I occasionally use a continuous blood sugar monitor and the results are amazing. From 6-10% highs down to less than 1%. A1c from 7.2 to 6.1. And solastar insulin from 78 units daily to 10 daily. Few side effects that I didn’t already have. Heaps more energy most days. Have noticed some hair loss, which could just be the hot summer down under and though I’ve lost heaps from my arms and legs, my waist measurement hasn’t come down a lot and my recently diagnosed (through a trial) fatty liver hasn’t changed much but that change is expected to be much slower. Thanks so much for this factual, and non hysterical, assessment and information.

However, the 2mg was impossible to find at any pharmacy. My Dr. has retired and my new primary has switched me over to Mounjaro. Ozempic casued me severe stomach problems. I was developing "air pockets" when I would eat. Like food was not continuing on down. It felt like I needed to belch but could not. This air pocket would cause excruciating pain in my chest, which I mistook for a heart attack. Since switching, the occurrence seems lessened. Time will tell. The stomach issues and discomfort are subsiding as well.

I've been on Ozempic for 7 weeks - at .25mg I was fine, but after a month I was increased to .5mg and it has been awful. I haven't had a full night's sleep since the month of May (it's June 20th) - crazy insomnia where it's like I'm electrified, not dead tired or jet lagged. And horrible muscle cramping in my back and left thigh - mostly on the left side. My endocrinologist keeps saying those aren't the expected side effects, but it's still happening - I'm in pain and not sleeping. I've also vomited once, and had regular nausea. So I've stopped Ozempic, hoping that after a couple of weeks I can get back to my baseline and no side effects. I've lost 13-15 pounds (the scale hasn't shown me the 15 pound loss except for one day). A year ago my A1c was 10.3. I made huge strides to change my eating etc and it came down to 8.2 in September, then my last one in May was 7.4. I understand that my insomnia and muscle pain may not be the normal side effects, but it's still happening and it's debilitating. I've found groups on Reddit and Facebook with people talking about this, and I found a study at NIH that talks about the sleep loss: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10669484/
I'm hoping that I might be able to go back on Ozempic and maybe just stick with the .25mg dose. A huge help I've seen has been going grain free - which is rough, but it's made huge changes to my blood sugar levels. I've also been using a continuous glucose monitor for just over a year, and that has been a huge game changer and I absolutely recommend that to any T2D (hopefully if you're T1D you're already using one). Seeing how your body processes sugars and carbs has been so enlightening! I'd always been told that it would take roughly 30 minutes for carbs to hit my blood sugar. Watching my CGM, it's more like 60-90 minutes for me - so I need to wait before eating and look to see if my sugars have been affected.

Woke up in morning after first injection with red face, mild temperature, stomach pain and nausea, headache, swollen glands, runny nose. I felt terrible and sick. It was like I had injected myself with poison. So never again! I was doing fine on insulin and feel this med was an overkill. I don't wish to be a guinea pig for a drug company's study.

Once you’ve reached your A1c goal and your weight goal, is it time to stop using Ozempic? If you continue using Ozempic, would your weight continue to go into a direction that is unhealthy ? And your A1c drop below a healthy level? When is it time to stop using Ozempic? You’ve never discussed this in your very interesting lecture.

As of June 2023 I was at 11 something for my A1C and weight of 249 (I am 5 feet tall), so far I feel the same and the side affects are the same as before Ozempic. So, I did not feel like the medicine has caused any symptoms. I got to 213 lbs at about January and have plateaued since then. I was also told that I can eat more then I was eating, so I have been doing badly when it comes to eating healthy and limiting my portions. Also, before I took the medication I had lost a good amount of weight.

So far, we know that it at the very least won’t hurt the kidneys. @sugarhighchannel  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Thank you! I have missed all of you too. Technically "Ozempic" is approved for Type 2 diabetes only, but the same medication is approved for weight loss in ANYONE, even without diabetes. But in that case, they call it "Wegovy" (I'll be making a video on this in the future). So it's sort of like if the government said a company can sell facial tissues with the name "Kleenex" if they're being used for blowing your nose, but they had to come up with a different brand name to print on the same box if they're being sold to wipe your tears. But prescribers can write a prescription for any medication (like Ozempic) to a patient for any reason if they determine it's appropriate for him/her.

Consider having a conversation with your healthcare provider about this. Depending on the actual cause of the pancreatitis, we generally don't use Ozempic (or any GLP-1 medication) in people who have had a history of pancreatitis.

I started intermittent fasting and the keto diet and now I have very little appetite and easily keep my calories under 1600 per day. I also had little A1C reduction while on Ozempic. I've lost weight on my own before (was down to 130 from 320 my highest), but have had issues keeping it off. This is my first time taking meds to lose weight though. I've lost the same 100 pounds twice lol!
Also I have a friend with type 2 diabetes. She used to weigh 460 lbs, but now weighs 125 lbs. She takes Invokana. Her type 2 diabetes never went away. This said she lost the weight in a very unhealthy way (she's addicted to meth), and frankly when she does eat she eats massive amounts of sweets/junk food.

I found the pen needle that's used with Ozempic wasn't penetrating my skin very well. So i just switched to Mounjaro, which uses a different injection design, and that seems to be working better over the first few weeks.
I never had side effects on Ozempic, and was on it for over a year.
It's good medicine if your pen needle works properly and you're shown how to properly inject it. The gauge of the pen needle i was prescribed was simply too thin to penetrate my tough skin effectively, even at the 2 unit dose.
Are there any pen needles that might work better for skin that's tough?
