A few years back the Museum of Scotland had the cauldron as one of the centre-pieces of their exhibition of Celtic Art. It was much larger than I thought and very impressive. The early/mid central-european celtic peoples were certainly 'middle men' with a wide network of diverse contacts. I would say this though, having seen 'hack-silver' even though the cauldron can be split into plates if it were to be split as treasure it would have been much more badly damaged in order to give each warrior/participant their share. The tin in the solder has been placed to Cornwall so this really is a pan european object.

Thank you for the information and your thoughts. Very interesting. Yes the tin has been traced to Cornwall, a lot of the tin for the era did. Made Cornwall quite a popular trading hub of the time. One of the reasons Rome was interested in Britain.

My 1 cent is that I see Rulers of different Kingdoms portrayed with each of their attributes . Whether it is a historical representation or a current one for that time period is not shown. Interesting stuff ! :O)

Innteresting, thanks for sharing. I reckon it could be astronomical and similar to the Flammarion engraving, with the wheels of the planets in the sky and zodiac changing post-great catastrophe/flood of Deucalion and the cauldron recording this.

Thank you, glad you liked the video. Uncovered during my research was the possible use of this cauldron. Its recorded that a vessel was used by the Cimbri tribe (quite possibly this cauldron or one much like it) to catch the blood of sacrificial victims. They then used the blood for divination purposes.
