Just goes to show it's not impossible to make quality frozen food; it's just that most companies either can't be bothered or don't have the skills. I wish we had Picard in Australia! It would be so handy for single people like myself.

I must say it's is quite surreal and funny to see you reviewing Picard's food which can't be more "everyday life" for me 🙂. But it is so refreshing to have another point of view for something I am so used to it. It's true that the quality is pretty good for frozen food and sometimes excellent. For Christmas and new year Eve, the options are really stunning with limited releases and can help single people having a great meal by themselves.

Je ne sais pas si je suis impressionnée ou horrifiée que Mike ait autant aimé Picard haha!!! I'm french and I like Picard frozen food for its taste and because it's practical but I don't eat it everyday. Except for that I love your enthusiasm while discovering each meal in this video and wish that some french would do the same instead of constantly criticizing what we have. The youth, especially, would prefer burger, sushi or kebab over this while I like both as well as traditional french cuisine 😋

Yes, French frozen food is so good that a lot of bistros in Paris serve frozen food to cut costs for staffs and rental space. They get their food from Picard’s or Metro(huge store like Costco for restaurant owners) It was in a French tv documentary. I’ve been living in Paris 10 years now and don’t care for their restaurants. I cook French food at home.

It is funny to see you discovering something very common in France. But indeed Picard is good quality stuff.
About cassoulet, I’m surprised you didn’t more comments from the South West of France. Many cities over there claim they have invented the dish and that their recipe is better. But it is also the kind of dish that each family has it’s own recipe.
You have to come back to France to go to that part of France, you’ll love it.

Typically from 3€ to 10-12€ for each piece. 3€ for the individual pasta (designed for quick and dirty lunch at work), around 6-8€ for the salmon+quinoa, 8€ for a pizza, and 12-15€ for the desserts like the last cake. Be careful that individual dishes will rarely fill you up though, you are supposed to eat a dessert or a fruit and perhaps something else with it.
