It's funny how Mike has probably explored and tried more foods than me who's a local Singaporean ಥ‿ಥ I actually enjoy the Singapore series so much, just watching Mike devour and praise the food is so fun to watch and makes me reminisce about the delicious hawker food I used to eat
What impresses me the most is also Mike, you are passionately complimentary to a $5 microwave meal as much as to a $250 meal ❤. Good food is good food, regardless the price. Thanks for the positiveness to you are spreading around.
I've always been a picky eater, but I love being able to see all the unique cuisine from all around the world. Its cool to see the differences in cultures and cooking. Love the videos, always looking forward to the next one. :)
You gotta love how Asian 7-11 actually cares about the quality of their food, as opposed to what we're stuck with here in the US. Singapore hawker culture is Where It's At, it would appear! As usual, us mere mortals would probably die consuming anything that you think is spicy enough to notice, Mike...?
as an avid 7-11 konbi food enjoyer that has been eating the briyani since they first released it, pretty grateful that almost all of the food you find there are actually nice. These new ones, especially the curry chicken cutlet rice is my fav
You could tell that that’s 1 of their Favorite hobbies and their hobby is Cooking 🍽🤤 When you get around peoples that loves to Cook you had “Hit a Home Run.”
One of the many things i miss about living in Asia are the rainy days. Sounds weird i know, but there was something special about sitting under cover with some spicy food and a few drinks while the heavens open up. Even the sound on this video is great.
I’m Singaporean and I subscribe to Mike’s channel because he knows food in Singapore even better than me 😂😂😂 Hawker food at 7-11, my first time hearing and seeing it. High quality content, thanks!
That Maggi is actually the most famous instant noodle brand in Malaysia. And the word 'Pedas Gilerrr' on the pack literally means Crazily Hottt. Glad you like it. ❤️
There’s no pork in the zhu chang fen 猪肠粉. It just resembles pork intestines which gave it the name. The version here and in Malaysia has sauces and oils but no filling (unlike in HK) so it’s usually marked as vegetarian.
Back when i was a kid we'd all go to 711 after school for the mash potato and gravy from the machine and instant noodles cz they provide hot water. Nice cheap meal just chilling out in a playground or void deck 😅
pedas giler is absolutely a challenge-type spicy noodle, though maybe the store should separate normal noodles from challenge ones so people don't get mistaken.
Mike, I salute you for showcasing the local hawker products. I try to make sure to support local restaurants and food trucks - these artists who feed us have had a rough couple of years and I’d hate to lose them!
Mike, I hope you realised that Zhu chang fen does not actually contain “zhu” (pork) ket slone chang ( intestines). I think the name just describes the rice noodles looking like pig intestines 😂
This made me so hungry 😍 the curry looked so packed full of flavour and that brownie...yumm! I always love exploring grocery stores/7 eleven type stores when I travel too!
Super nice to see that you’re still uploading, for some reason your channel came to me as a distant memory haha.. then again I’ve been watching you since I was in middle school and I’ve graduated now haha. Thank you so much for all journeys you take us on, you’ve opened my mind up as a younger person to what’s out there quite a bit.
I’m amazed by how far ahead this man must be making videos! That burger said “use by 08/28/22” and posted in October?! No wonder we have constant content, thank you Mikey!!
If you ever come back to singapore, I would recommend you to try these places: Nasi bryani @ beach road (located at a coffeeshop besides goldmile food centre) they close early and there's always a long queue so be there early The banana leaf apolo @ little India (fish head curry.. warning its very spicy) Lobster porridge @ maude road (jalan besar) Nanyang Food Culture @ maude road ( handmade buns and dim-sum and go for amy yip bun (translate to Chinese) that is as big as a human face
I watched another US TH-camr who mentioned the variety of food over here in Asia. She did mentioned however that when it comes to desserts i.e. cakes, cookies, ice creams and sweets, the US reign supreme in terms of diversity and flavor.
I happened to look away for a second when Mike was showing the instant noodle label so all I saw was the familiar shape and I just went, wait a minute, is that the line of premium crazy spicy line of Maggi instant noodle bowls? Basically all flavours in that line has the 'Pedas Gilerr' tag which translates to 'Krazyy Spicy'. They're really not kidding btw, I had to stop eating them for the sake of my stomach health. XD
Mike!!! I highly highly highly highly highly recommend this place called Chuan Yang Ji, it's a super underrated lamb/mutton hotpot place with the most AMAZING collagen bone broth EVER. If you have the time please feel free to drop by an outlet, they have a few across Singapore and I really can't recommend it enough! Just typing this is already making me smell and taste their fantastic lamb, both skewers, innards, my gosh help me I'm drooling already just thinking about it. Please give it a try one day! 😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
Maggi Pedas Giler (crazy spicy) are less spicy than challenge type ramen but still very hot. They use bird eye chili (50-100k SHU) unlike challenge type ramen that use super hot chili variant at 1+ mil SHU. The tom yum flavor Mike eat is less spicy than ayam bakar (roast chicken) / seafood version due to tom yum sourness. There is 2x spicy version too.
@@araisikewai He has upload one before, he did some intensive workouts. He also like to walk a lot if he is able to do so like in NYC, Singapore, S. Korea, Japan, and etc.
watching you lose your mind over the pedas grill is so funny because my friends and i used to cook it at the back of our classroom and eat it during recess in secondary school 😭😭
Can't wait to start traveling the world and trying some of the food you show on your channel, you have given me a list place to try when I go to different countries.
Maggi Pedas Giler is what mike ate for breakfast first. Pedas Giler translates to insanely spicy lmao. Pedas=spicy , Giler=crazy (slang). When u said u were having it for breakfast i just started shaking my head lmao
8:16 THERES actually like that brand of salted egg noodle it’s actually really good they sell it in 7 eleven too!! you should also try the Mac and cheese it’s really good too (found in 7 eleven too)
That's cuttlefish on your satay bee hoon ...Not konjac. You should eat the hawker version, it usually comes with pork liver, pork slices and cockles which I believe would suit you more.
Can't see it anywhere, even in the comments : where'd you get the seasalt gooey brownies, Mike???? You DID say you were gonna post the store you got it from, in the description. Looks bloody unbelievable!!! Gotta havvit!!!
Hey Mike, just alittle nugget of info from a professional cook: chicken doesn't microwave real well to begin with,so I can see were you're coming from when you said that on dish wasn't very good
The amount of sodium he consumes daily! He probably eats >10,000mg of sodium daily. My blood pressure would rise to a million with that amount of salt and I would probably be on dialysis
I think he says he doesn’t eat on his off days basically. I would say he would also eat healthier on off days, but he has said he hates veggies, so who knows
I live in Las Vegas. Born n raise Hawaii I eat every food from every country .I love food I only weight 110 lbs n exercise everyday. But I love food. My favorite food is noodle n Asian food. I even have eaten n live in Saudi Arabia for 7 years. Happy Day.
I think I enjoy these kinds of episodes more than the super fancy expensive restaurant ones 😆
me too
Yeah same. I've been skipping those fancy restaurant videos for a while now. These sort of videos are the best IMO.
Me too. I tend to watch more of these than the other restaurant videos lol
mostly cus you'll never experience them anyways
Absolutely. These are more relatable.

7-11: “how much sodium you wanna consume today?”
Mike: “yes”

The beehoon meal from 7-11 is a satay sauce (peanut sauce) that is served along side satay (meats grilled on skewers) not curry
Exactly my thought until I saw the ingredients and its honestly just a peanut curryish sauce. I still wouldnt call it curry though.
that briyani you just ate is a go to for most of the singaporeans when they find food in 7eleven
I was so sad when they raised the price
they added the damn raisins & some flakes of smth which ruined it for me
