Funny thing at Camryn’s birthday Tia was playing Tamera’s part for a brief scene because she Tamera was in the middle of doing a lifetime show that year so Tia stepped in and did her sort for a few days and even gave her a fake mole

The first two are a definite watch but the third one is okay, the fourth one in my opinion is a huge let down to the entire series because it has a different actress playing money and the grandmother is hardly in it, it didn't feel like Halloween town at all, it's an okay film but nothing compare to the original trilogy

Twitches was from 2005. The sequel came out in 2007. Tamera Mowry played the Rich twin and Tia played the humble one. The actress that played their mom is from Dr. Dolittle with Eddie Murphy.
I loved this movie as a kid. Even though I used to be a little scared of The Darkness.

When I was younger, I thought Thantos being the villain was meant to be a surprise, but the "I intend to" was such a giveaway lolz. And Billy figured it out even earlier, like his first scene...but then started overthinking it in his usual Billy way lololz. Never change, Billy Binges. And I'm glad to hear the kissing similes again 😂
I also love that his name is Thantos, and he's wearing purple 💜
Billy I know in this day and age that CGI looks a little funky BUT LET ME TELL YOU that cgi had me scared to the bone as a little children! And the fact that i watch it EVERY Halloween further induce the trauma. I still can’t look Thantos in the eye 😂, especially that picture that tamera finds in her room…just scary! Even if I saw the actor who played Thantos today I wouldn’t trust him like Adam didn’t trust that apple in Eve’s hand.

The scene where her mom tells her about the picture she used to draw of Thantos when she was little used to give me CHILLS. Thantos was terrifying to me 🤣
I actually had the same reoccurring nightmare of the darkness chasing as a child... and I still watched the movie twice a year. For some odd reason, disney used to play Halloween movies in spring for a little while.
So they kept them apart to keep them hidden, thus safe. Yes, they’re more powerful together, but it wasn’t until they were together that the darkness was able to find them. I always enjoyed this film and it furthered my obsession with fantasy. Being a moon based/writer/witch became my go to fantasy for a LONG time after seeing this film.

Believe it or not this was one of my favorite Halloween special on Disney when I was a kid. I would try to remember the spells and make up spells. Never worked of course. but I wanted to be a witch because of this movie and practical magic. But I am still a plain human well I guess you could also count the harry potter stuff too since that's magic based. But this is an amazing movie reaction Billy thanks for sharing it with us.

This series has so much lore to it that wasn't explored in these two movies. I'd love it if they did a TV series based on the books so we could really get into the lore but I love these movies. Have to watch them every Halloween.

The reason why the parents treat her childish is because Twitches was originally a book series where the two twins are teenage girls either in middle school or high school I don't remember. But that's why it probably feels weird how they baby and spoiled Camryn (Tamera). But Disney wanted Tia and Tamera for the roles so they aged them up to accommodate their age!
I already watched all four Halloweentown and both TWITCHES movies this October 😂 I’m currently watching all of Chucky movies 😂 I also watched some old DCOM Halloween movies as well already like, “My Mom Has a Date With a Vampire,” and “Don’t Look Under The Bed.”

*Fridge Brilliance:* In the movie, love being the opposite of darkness might not make any sense. But here is the thing, darkness has two meanings, one being the absence of light the other one being wickedness. At first, the twins thought their uncle's darkness was referring to the first definition, and the opposite of that is light. Of course the darkness in this context was actually referring to wickedness and of course love is the opposite of wickedness.

The reason I loved this movie is such a Canadian deepdive...bascially there was this Canadian broadcast channel called YTV, which would have T.V. hosts that were on air in commercial breaks or between shows. when I was a young un, the two hosts were Pat Kelly and Sugar. At some point Sugar got to do the English Dub for a character in Sailor Moon, and it was a running joke that Pat was bummed about it and wanted to get a good acting gig too. i vividly remember him pretending that he was in a movie that involved him just sweeping the YTV set with a broom...anyways one day he wasn't on YTV anymore and Sugar was like 'he's off chasing his acting dreams!' and even us kids were like wow...that's not going to pan out.
And then this movie came out. Pat Kelly's the dude in Red, Karsh. 😂 i was so shocked, even as a little children, but I was genuinely delighted to see him on the disney channel, actually achieving his acting dreams! so this became one of my favourite movies. I had to show up for Pat everytime it was playing on the t.v!
I really need to rewatch the Twitches movies. I mostly watch other Disney Halloween movies every year like Hocus Pocus and Halloweentown.

Twitches is a book which disney picked up and thought the twins would be perfect for, but in the book the twins were 14 and were aged up for the movie to 21 because the twins were 27

Hey Billy, I just want to thank you. I’ve been in depression lately and even tho I LOVE Halloween, I haven’t really been in the mood to celebrate it. But watching this movie with you that I loved as a kid has actually put a little bit of the Halloween spirit back in me. Now I’m watching all my favorite Halloween and horror movies. Cam is being treated like she's 12 even though she's 21 because 1) the movie's target demographic is 8-12 years old and 2) it helps reinforce how different the twins' lives have been and how Cam is the more childish one.
Also, in the book series the movie was based off of, the twins were only 14.
Actually it represents Cam being spoiled to hell with no responsibilities and consequences, her age is just a factor that even adults are irresponsible and with classes being different from Alex, it’s intentional to how they were raised separately

this came out when i was in HS and I enjoyed it because it was Halloween themed, but you're right, it really is Sister, Sister but with magic. I saw it as an adult when Disney+ became a thing and I was like, ''this feels like it's missing something'', I dont like that they changed the Ileana actress for the second one, it felt like when they changed the blonde chick in the orbit commercial. THOUGHT WE WOULDNT NOTICE BUT WE DID!....Anywho this was the first time seeing that guy that portrays Thantos, and I swear, I've seen him 2x in this week in older stuff, from around the same time and those 2 other roles, he was also primary villain

I loved this movie, growing up. It was my second favorite Disney Channel Halloween tradition after Halloweentown. However, this is my first time noticing how fine their mom is! My gawd! I also read the first book before they even made this movie. The book was darker and more mature and I think the twins met at a carnival when they’re fourteen. Alex also wasn’t the smart twin, so much as the alternative/goth twin. But Disney gotta Disney.
My birthday is on Christmas 🎄 and growing up we celebrated Christmas in the morning and my birthday in the afternoon 😊

I consider this a Halloween staple/classic given how much it impacted my childhood. As a kid, I thought the darkness ate. But now looking at the CGI, you can understand why there so many memes.
Thantos is the twins’ uncle. The king’s brother. I always thought it was kind of messed up that their father died and their mom went and married her brother in law.

My birthday is July 3rd and since people tend to work a day before a holiday like my parents, I grew up celebrating my big day ON the fourth of July. That meant my birthday bash ALWAYS being a family cookout with the same foods every year. If I wanted to have a birthday party somewhere, as a kid, no one would have came. But obviously now that I'm an adult, I can call off on July 3rd and have a REAL birthday bash. The best part about it is right as my special day is ending, people light fireworks into the sky ☺️☺️ kinda makes me feel like Rapunzel from Tangled and how she'd always see floating lanterns on her birthday ❤
