“There are always men like you “ it’s such a profound line in a marvel movie
The credit scene here was where Marvel first introduced Thanos to the viewers. It was an Easter Egg for the comic readers who instantly recognized him where everyone else had no idea who he was. We suddenly knew who the main villain would be long before he started moving his plans forward directly. It was a wonderful gift they gave to us so we could explain to everyone else who it was.
My cousin, who was unfamiliar with comicbooks, well he was unfamiliar with Marvel and asked me who that was. He is Thanos, and Thanos is death. He was like WTF LOL
Exactly this! I was a vivid reader of the Silver Surfer back in the 90’s and Thanos featured heavily so I nearly exploded when I saw him at the end! Not many would’ve known who he was in my theatre (UK here) but I was totally blown away with that final reveal!
@@kevinmarsden6107 I was a 70s and 80s kid but exactly YES. Marvel must have rough drafted the whole infinity saga ahead of time and it was AWESOME
@@matthewdunham1689 Ironically, that was not the case. Joss Whedon dropped Thanos in this movie as an Easter egg to the comics fans on his own initiative. Kevin Feige and the other Marvel producers loved the character and decided to run with him.
Yeah, with the line "...is to court death", several immediately knew it was Thanos due to his in-comic-book fascination with the personification of Death.
I gotta say, I’ve watched a BUNCH of reactions. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone who payed as close attention to the plot and dialogue as you. It’s INCREDIBLY refreshing. I’m honestly super impressed at your focus
Yeah that's what I enjoy about her reactions
That time Hulk swings Loki around like a rag doll, was one of my fav moments ever in a movie theater and will remain so until i die xd
And will be reimagined in Thor : Ragnarok ;)
Puny god!
Bro don't be spoiling stuff!@Chuck2624
when Loki gets smashed it was hilarious but he let out that moan at the end it broke me
Loki was responsible for the Avengers getting together in the comics way back in the 1960's.
Cap just cobbles together a plan of beating hundreds of Chitauri with only 6 people by making the most of each of their skillsets and what they're good at. I always find that amazing, he's a great leader!
And Natasha is so awesome, she has no powers, but kicks such ass. If they were all fighting without powers, she'd win.
So Hawkeye doesn't get any recognition? Bruh
@@soup1up334 Oh, Hawkeye's also awesome of course😄 But Natasha's my favorite🤷♂
I always wondered why the other Avengers looked to Cap as the leader so readily, but this movie went a long way to showing me why. He may not be nearly as strong or powerful as most of the team, but he seems to have a natural talent in learning and understanding the capabilities of his teammates, and giving them the job where their abilities are most effective. Even more important, however, is he is also more than willing to defer to someone else's lead/idea if they're more suited or know more about the situation. He's also clearly extremely charismatic.
@@nicholaswilkerson4394 Cap has actual war experience. Fighting as part of an army. Giving orders, making plans. Everyone else has pretty much only done things on their own. Sure, Tony is sort of a business leader - but he didn't even do much of that. He was mostly focused on his own projects, which is how Stane managed to become so corrupt - because Tony wasn't really paying attention to the business side of things. And then in IM2, he hands over the business leadership to Pepper. Yes, Thor has war experience, but a very different kind - "Viking-style", with strength and ferocity, not so much with strategy and organization.
@PhilBagels well sure, but even so, even just Tony himself is so prideful, him actually listening to someone else as a leader speaks very highly of the person he follows. Having fought in an actual war certainly helps, but I was more referring to reasons beyond that. Especially since this kind of fight is nothing like any of the fights Cap has yet seen, and his teammates are nothing like the normal soldiers Cap had experience commanding during the war.
Ah, good ol' days. When the hype around every release was off the charts.
Was also made 12 years ago. If my math's right, kids in first grade back then's graduating high school in a few weeks.
More importantly: when the release was actually up to the hype!
Why did Phil Coulson die? Because Joss Whedon was the director, and he loves to kill off beloved characters.
He didn’t die though. He was saved by the Tahiti project in Agents of Shield (highly underrated show)
@@TheoSanders-Swabey-wi2cq non-canon
@@TheoSanders-Swabey-wi2cq Imagine Considering Agent of shield as Canon 💀
He was killed because marvel was getting heat from viewers that nobody ever died and stayed dead. So there was no stakes in the heroes losing. This was a failed attempt at that.
As soon as it was announced that he was doing Avengers, the people that were familiar with his previous works were like, "Aww, shit. Who is he about to kill?" 😂. I remember saying that this dude would find a way to kill Hulk if he could get away with it, simply because it's unexpected or simply just because lol. People still didn't see Coulson's death coming lol...
the scene were Tony boutta fly up in the worm hole be crazy tho
"you're not the guy to make the sacrifice play"
let's not forget the last avenger's movie aswell😂
Was Cap under the influence of Loki's scepter when he said that?
@@JTEE08 Hell, he was willing as early as Iron Man. He told Pepper both to overload the arc reactor and how to do it, while he was still on the roof directly above it.
@@LucianDevine I got the impression Tony was gambling that the blast would throw him clear. But Steve was basing his assessment of Tony on what he saw, a flippant prima dona who seemed to take nothing seriously.
@@danieldickson8591 It's still risky, because a lot can go wrong during the "thrown clear" process. So I still think that he was willing to die if it meant that Obadiah Stane died too. He'd rather die than let Obadiah Stane use his weapons to terrorize the world.
I dig that you ask the right questions with each film. You don’t take things for granted, you actually observe the subtleties of what is actually happening between characters. Great observation about Loki.
Thank you Master Silvestri for that heroic music. When they finally team up and the camera goes 360 on them, the orchestra really lifts it up to the thousands. Gorgeous score!!
Your Captain America reaction was great he always has a special place in my heart
One of the great joys of Marvel is they always have organic reason why the superheroes fight each other. It's such a grand part of the fun. Like kids with their action figures.
Or making Gods into kiddie version, hit the limit at A2, so much BS.
@@ajstyles5704 You sound like nothing but a hater. Keep you opinions to yourself. They make no sense.
@@ChuckJansenII you do you, got no problems with it, I realize my opinion are my problems.but on the not making any sense, Thor literally goes punching people, 1st of all, if he punches a human, there would be a hole in their bodies. The God Thor can kill a lot of people just with 1 lighting, as in 1 that spreads out with lots of branches over 1km long and at light speed. That's just tiny portion not included his weapon. Loki is a genius, literally gives advice to Odin and Thor, he can fight Thor, lose but can fight Thor. So yeah, Marvel Norse Mythos are kids version. And in A2, you got the smartest dumbest AI, knows everything, but created crash test dummies, that even black widow can fight to defend his plot. He stole Iron man suit, he only needed to make 20 of the same copy and upgrade them for a specific task.
@@ajstyles5704 Your posts make absolutely no sense. Is English your first language?
@@ChuckJansenII no, my 101st language, who cares? If you can't freaking understand it, that makes you one of the rare ones, because I've been using English 99% of the time, and only been questioned a few times, I will put you into that group, the rare incapable of understanding the world has so many English as their 2nd language, kinda stupid question, a better one is to ask if I can clarify where your brain failed to comprehend.
'Well then son, you got a conditon.' hehe that line always gets me chuckling.
You missed the 2nd credit scene. A fun fact about that is that they filmed it after the premiere of the movie. Also future movies will start having 2 end credit scenes and a few even 3
Also, well made and entertaining shorts are in some of the Blu-Ray editions
She misses a lot in case you haven't noticed. Not only in this movie but in many others.
Another fun fact about the second credit scene: Cap is resting his head on his hand to hide the beard that Evans has grown for another movie he was filming around the time they filmed that scene.
@@passionsquietrage I'm guessing that beard was for "Snowpiercer?"
@@brucefale6132 Something that was a bit of an annoyance was when she was talking over parts of the movie or dialogue that were important.
The world was in the golden age of super-hero movies when this one came out. I miss those days.
Wait until you see Captain America the Winter soldier 2014. you'll be blown away
One of the fun things about Iron Man is each movie sort of informs the next one's suit. The reason he's able to absorb Thor's lightning without shutting down, is because his suit was crippled when caught in Venko's electrified whips and so Tony came up with a solution. And this movie will inform his suit in Iron Man 3.
It's a pattern of Tony and others doubting and belittling Cap. When the $h!# hits the fan,it's Cap that's right.and they work together well because of Cap. He's the tactician. Without Cap they're just making a mess trying to do it themselves. Cap is a solid dude. It keeps getting better from here.
Captain America the most boring Avenger sure 😂
If you like the character of Agent Phil Coulson you should check out the Marvel TV series agents of shield. Also there are two mobile one also there are two Marvel one shot which are short films that feature agent Coulson. One being The Consultant and the other one shot being A funny thing happened on the Way to Thor's hammer.
This movie was such a special event as a kid! I remember seeing Hulk and i got so freaking excited lol, and seeing Tony and Steve butt heads was always so tense and interesting. Both are polar opposites in this movie. The Avengers all hold a special place in my heart, and i hope they will hold a special place in your's! :)
the old guard who asked Banner if he was an alien, was in the movie "Alien" with sigourney Weaver
.......he was also an FBI agent in "the Godfather 2"
And a "done tom turkey" in The Green Mile. He's been in a bunch of movies. Hollywood veteran.
And Escape From New York
That's Harry Dean Stanton, dude!
Have some severe respect!
He's a legend!
🤘🤘
@@SonicProfessor_a.k.a._T._Andra Originally the scene was much longer but it got cut for time but Whedon insisted that Stanton had to have some presence in the movie because they'd all loved having him there. He apparently only ended up there because one of the crew was filming a documentary with him so managed to get him on set. The character's name is also 'Harry'..
When they were bickering and verbally fighting before the attack on the carrier was caused by Loki's scepter. (which will be important in the future).
"Puny God", may be the funniest line in the MCU.
“There are always men like you”, a top meanigful line.
This movie is full of great dialogue but “There are always men like you” is easily the best line IMO.
The set-up there is fantastic, too -- "There are no men like me" speaks perfectly to Loki's arrogance and ego. Whedon crushed the script on this one!
Nice reaction. FYI: You caught the mid credit scene, but you missed the post credit scene.
Loki's Play: It was Loki's scepter that was causing everyone around it to become agitated. Since there is some resentment between Tony & Steve, the agitation was strong. Agitating Banner is always on another level.
Every emotion I felt watching this for the first time, I see in you now. It's great. I wish I could see this for the first time again.

When Bruce mentions attempting to off himself but the Hulk spit out the bullet, that was a reference to a scene that was filmed for the Incredible Hulk movie, but was cut out.
"He shoots arrows?" Yep. That is literally his super power. He has a bow with arrows.
Well more than that. He can spot things very far away ,he can see patterns , he can predict paths and movements. Thats how he can hit something he doesn't look at that time. He has the prediction path in mind. And of course the "trick" arrows.

Few things live up to the hype. This movie is one of them. I remember the excitement leading up to this movie and it did not disappoint at all.
Clint Barton's codename is Hawkeye, fitting for the excellent marksman that he is. Just throwing this in there coz he rarely gets called it in these movies. Natasha's is the Black Widow.
Correction! Marvel used to make amazing movies.
I loved that Loki vs Captain America fight, even though Cap just isn't at Loki's power level. The tyrant vs the liberator. And Loki is just short of Toni's power level. Come to think of it, the power levels are pretty well defined in this movie. Hulk > Thor > IronMan > Loki > Captain America > Black Widow > Hawkeye. Well, Black Widow and Hawkeye are comparable, but in a fight, most of the time, Widow wins.
Well about power levels, MCU is very bad at it. I would say Hulk and Thor are even and Tony can go toe to toe with them but Thor and Hulk are lot stronger. Also Captain America is nowhere close to Tony's suit. They even they're power levels out in the MCU and make it work.
31:40 If you want to find out what happened/happens to Coulson, you'll need to watch Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.😉 Which, *right now* (or right after Iron Man 3) would actually be *the best* time to start(considering how much the first 2 seasons tie-in with 3 of the next 5 films)👍
I enjoyed your reaction very much. Now imagine seeing this in a large theater on a huge screen, every seat full and the whole crowd reacting all at once just the way you did. You bring back memories of that.
And always watch until the movie is over. There was an end credits scene you missed. 😊
Stef you HAVE to watch the TV spinoff AGENTS of S.H.E.I.L.D. so you can find out what happens to Phil Coulson. It is AMAZING =)
I hope you got a chance to watch the Marvel One-Shots "The Consultant" and "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way To Thor's Hammer". It will give you more time with Coulson and let you get to know him a bit better. Of his passing, I can only say: Tahiti - It's a Magical Place.
The next movie is "Iron Man 3", which leads into Marvel's first television show, "Agents of Shield" (which is an excellent show, and is rated at 95% on Rotten Tomatoes).
And by the way, you missed one of the credit scenes. You have to be careful - many of the movies have more than one credit scene - some in the middle, some at the end. This one was at the very end of the credits.
@Stef If you to look at us while talking to us, then watch the camera lense more please. I'm sure the viewfinder is fine, but look at us not yourself. 😉
Stef, in the first comic book issue of the Avengers, they fought Loki, in the first issue of the Justice League of America, they fought a giant alien starfish named, Starro
That would had more sene that fighting against... what was his name? Stevenwolf? The guy with the axe that his action figure had a blue light instead of red...
@@salvadormendoza8535 i got a figure of Steppenwolf when i was a kid, he had red and black S&M outfit with spikes and he had a vibro axe with one blade and 3 dogs, in wonder woman comics, Aries has a horned helmet and a two sided axe, i think they didn't have the cgi ready for Aries for the Wonder Woman movie and used it for Justice League movie , and just called him Steppenwolf
Since you're such a big fan of Coulson, at least watch the trailer for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It takes a little while to get going but it's genuinely a pretty good show.
stef, when they were bickering among themselves the sceptre was on the table and it was doing something, perhaps to them to make them fight, i can tell you more later..
Just FYI Coulson is revived in the spin-off series Agents of SHIELD shortly after the events of The Avengers (project T.A.H.I.T.I.) if you're interested. The show mostly follows MCU canon up until Season 4, then it deviates into its own universe with all the time-travel stuff.
Appreciating their differences and how they manage to work as a team for the same goal is a credit to Joss Whedon's ability to assemble the story and direct and put the movie together.
But stand by, there are other directors coming that are also very good at directing a lot of characters in one movie!
Her Feminine energy is so strong, I loved the softness in her heart
Seeing this in the theater was a thrill to behold, and Hulk ragdolling "puny god" Loki got the biggest laughs. It gets bigger and the stakes get higher from here though. Let's just say that Thanos gives off "final boss" energy.
I still remember seeing this movie premier night at midnight when I was a kid, and I'll never forget everyone in the theatre going crazy over the "I'm always angry scene" amazing stuff.
"The Other" is just one alien guy, it's not a whole race. That's his name. He's the guy that spent the movie intimidating Loki and was bowing to Thanos in the post-credits scene.
Also yeah, there was a second credits scene in this movie that you missed. Going forward, make sure to keep an eye for all possible scenes afterwards. A lot of MCU movies will have a scene in the middle of the credits and then another one at the very end.
I already know that I'm going to love this reaction! 😊
This is the MCU debut of Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/the Hulk, and of Cobie Smulders as SHIELD Agent Maria Hill.
Once again Tom Hiddleston is fantastic as Loki. And we sadly say goodbye to SHIELD Agent Phil Coulson. However, if you're a fan of the character of Phil Coulson then I very highly recommend the "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" show.
Fun Fact #1: Robert Downey Jr. is known for hiding healthy snacks on the set. And that scene where Tony offers Bruce and Steve a blueberry, that was the snack that he had on set.
Fun Fact #2: The post credit scene with the Avengers eating at the Shawarma restaurant was filmed within days of the premiere. And by that time Chris Evans was growing his beard out of his movie "Snowpiercer". So the reason why you don't see Steve eating is because he's holding a piece of prosthetic on his jaw.
Up next: The beginning of Phase 2 with "Iron Man 3". And that has one post-credit scene.
Looking forward to your next reaction. 😊
I think after the next movie, Marvel also released their first show, Marvel Agents of SHIELD. Great series, but pretty long, it would be a pretty big commitment, but I think it's good to point it out, especially because it's amazing!
After Iron Man 3. And it's a good show, but it seems like there aren't any immediate plans to bring it back in any capacity, so I'd recommend the Netflix shows first.
Here's hoping you react to AOS. It's a family and you will be welcomed with open arms.
Having watched the first Avengers movie, now would be a good point at which to start the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. tv series centered around Agent Coulson, whom Loki killed on the helicarrier
It'd be best to watch after Iron Man 3. But from there, she'd need to make sure she watches certain movies before certain episodes.
PLEASE watch "Ready Player One"!!! greatest gaming movie ever

6:53, I think that’s the first time I’ve heard anyone say, “He’s making little soldiers…” at that part. Lol
So at the premiere, Mark Ruffalo had to leave early, because his daughters got scared of him turning into the hulk

all superheroes will get redone or rebooted at some point but the character that will be hardest to see get redone is ironman because he was done so perfect by the mcu and Robert Downey, whenever a new ironman movie is made the expectations for the new actor to play him will be insane. same goes for Hugh jackman wolverine and Ryan Reynolds Deadpool as well
When they were all arguing in the helicarrier... I thought they were under the influence of Loki's scepter. Isn't that why Banner ended up holding it without realizing? If so... then a lot of the dialogue was "under the influence." Like when they're accusing each other... "Take off that armor what are you?" etc.
Not so much the sceptre, but the mind stone within it - same as Ultron, bringing out the worst aspect of people's personalities.
Avengers #1 in 1963 had Loki as their first enemy who uses Hulk against them.
Hawkeye first appeared as an Iron Man villain, so his first major role is a brainwashed henchman for Loki.
Highly recommend Agents of SHIELD after checking out Iron Man III, but you have to stop every now and again to watch the movies, like 'Thor the Dark World' and 'Captain America and the Winter Soldier'. You have to keep the release dates in mind and watch them together, but it's soooo worth it!
When banner transformed and punched the big Chitauri was such an epic moment in theaters
No Marvel used to make amazing movies now they just make political propaganda CRAP that makes you cringe.
But here's a movie you might like "Stay Alive", it's about a group of friends who find this game only if you die in the game you die in real 😉
"Big man in a suit of armor. Take that off what are you? Youre not the guy to make the sacrifice play. To lay down on the wire and let the other guy crawl over you"

There is a video meme of the Hulk beating Loki and it says, "When you talk back to mom."
Loki does do monologues but only when he's generally trying to buy time.
Amazing reaction Stef. I don't know if you have the time, but you should definitely watch Agents of Shield. It is to this day still the best Marvel show out there and worth your time. Would love to see you react to it, but if you can't at least watch it in your own time. The show picks up after Iron Man 3 if you want to know where it starts in the release order. Keep doing an amazing job!
Everyone in this movie is from "the 1900s"... :-D ... unless they're under 8 years old... oh boy... feeling old again...
This reaction vid gets me as close to as I felt when I saw The Avengers for the first time in theaters. I suppose its the lack of Marvel knowledge which is wildly available at this point. But thanks for the vicarious experience.
12 years later, this movie still gave me the chills
The point break comment refers to an old movie called point break starring Keane Reeves and Patrick Swayze, if you've never seen it it's an awesome movie!

There’s actually more to the story of Coulson if you want to find out I highly recommend the tv show Agents Of Shield trust me the first season is kinda meh but the rest of it is awesome and make up 6 of some of THE best seasons of television imo
Loki is a bit of a puzzle, and makes for one of the more interesting characters in the MCU. He has shown that he is willing to fight for one side or the other, whichever is best for him at the moment. Surely he has a moral compass buried in there somewhere
Sure. But Loki has an inferiority complex because of his big brother Thor, and thinks he deserves a throne because he is smart, not just strong. So he always comes up with ways to torment Thor.
3 things: (1)she’s gorgeous, (2) if anything remotely sad she tears up (which is difficult to see and (c) I forget how good these movies are.
Now if you wanted to, watch Agents of Shield. Stopped being Canon but is a solid show nevertheless
Saw this in theaters back in 2012, I was about to graduate Highschool and my English teacher and I were so excited that something like this was happening, it had NEVER been done before and it’s what cemented the MCU in modern culture. I wish I could watch the infinity saga again for the first time. Phase 2 and 3 about to go crazy.
