I never crashed my AK 550. I once dropped it. It fell out of my hands. It cracked the Left Side Mirror. It took 3 months to get the part in. Good luck!
Wow, I was typing out what the problem is, but then I see you already looked it up. As long as it isn't enough to constantly drip, you could still ride IF they need to order the seal. The only issue then would be if you have pets around that might try to drink it. 2 other owners on Advrider had this issue. One was minor and the other had to replace the seal. Seems like you have a good dealer and should be minimal time down.
Hi Will thanks for the response. It appears to be leaking a lot, have no idea how long it has been leaking. The reserve tank is empty and the coolant level is at the low mark. I have sent an email to Bert’s Mega Mall and hopping they contact me soon.
RiderGuy, thanks for sharing. I have the same problem after only 5k miles (in 8 months). Going to contact my dealer on Tuesday re. the warranty repair. How long did it take for them to do your repair?
I am so sad that my baby is crying. She is leaking coolant. I hope Bert’s Mega Mall in Covina takes care of this. My main concern is that they will not have the parts and I will have to wait a long time.
I have the same exact problem with my AK550i. It's been at the dealership for almost 8 weeks now and still waiting for parts. How long did it take you to fix yours?
He took about 6 weeks, I had to keep calling the dealership. Make sure they cover it under warranty. It seems like this is a common AK 550 issue. There are a few others on forums that have had the same issue. I hope you get yours back soon.
You won’t believe this, it is a seal that needs to be replaced. Repair cost will be $540.00. Mostly because of labor. I need to learn how to do things on my own. She will be in the whole for another two weeks since they had t order a part. I here that this can happen on some Aks. I should of gotten the extended warranty.
@@RiderGuy Dang! Is it that little impeller on the repair manual that needs to be replaced? Doesn't seem too bad but stuff can go wrong 🤣. Have you already had bike for 2years?
@@Kahuna_550yea it is that impeller thing which they call a mechanical seal. It is almost two years, Kymco does not cover that part. I am letting them fix it then will talk to them about this BS.

Forgot to ask: Did the dealer require you to have the AK550 towed to avoid warranty issues or was it more convenient to have it towed?
I have exactly the same problem. My AK have only 7 months and 3,000km. Now Im waiting for dealer... 😔
From what side of the bike can you u the weep hole?

@@RiderGuy Unfortunately you always get screwed on these warranties, is what it is. You'll be back riding soon, don't stress it!
@JQUICK21do you have a link on how to fix. Is it a big job?
Hey, I have the same problem with AK550. Can anyone provide the part number/symbol of the seal that needs to be replaced in this case
Anybody knows what kind of coolant does it take??
