Chased a leak myself and thought it was coming from the vents but it wasn't. Like yours it was coming from the top of the boot. Strangely it was also coming through the 2 massive holes that the rear light fitting is housed through. Who would have imagined that funneling water off the roof and over 2 holes would leak, crazy isn't it! The way I sorted it was to remove the rear lights and add plenty of sealant around the holes and then press it back into place. Also beneath the vents on either side there's a drain bung, just remove it.
The annoying thing is that Ford always say the car looks like it's been in an accident previously that's why the leak has occurred. They say this because it removes their liability and because they can see its been spot welded. When in fact, it's them that have done the welding when it was being manufactured.
Hi there! Anybody knows how to solve the first case when the watter is found in the side booth compartments (with fuses etc.)? I’m not able to find and remove the bungs underneath the car like in the regular Focus version
For the hatch there’s vents behind the bumper. Rear bumper needs removing and vents sealing up. There’s loads of videos about it if you search focus mk3 rear vents etc
I have 2012 hatch, years ago nearside leaked and soaked the carpet and foam all the way to front seats from back......i heard about vents it gets in and sits then splashes into boot via holes, seal the holes / rubbers into the boot. Also underneath car take both rubbers out so water cant sit between the inner and outer shell...also seal the 2 back light screws where they come into boot. Now years on the offside has gone and flooded the carpet all the way to under the drivers seat This time it is definately that seam that comes down off roof.....problem is the water sits trapped in a pocket near the back window and ALSO tap the bear metal wheel arch from inside where suspension nut is and you will hear water sloshing around in there too .....absolute shite ford
Thanks really appreciate that, I spent ages looking for the leak no joy then found your vid which was great
Great glad it helped

Correct about the bungs underneath 1 on each side just remove them so water cant sit and slosh into boot

My hatch back has the same issue, leaks from high up but on the drivers side
More than likely same thing. More common on hatch tho for the low vents to leak.
clear silicone i find is the best for all colour cars ... try it
Thanks. Hopefully I won’t need to 😅but will advise if anyone asks me 👍🏻
@@FF04ORD its really good for sticking them door rubbers back on the underneath of the doors as well ... really sticky stuff
I need to find some for mine as missing. Will try that then thanks
Standard clear will peel in 12 months, use pu40 like me and this lads done

How easy is it to remove those internal panels and roof lining mate ?
Pretty easy, just clips and the odd screw

Sorry to hear. Yeah it seems the hatch are known for water leaks. Hope you get it sorted
