I think Notre Dame knows exactly what kind of a conference they would want to join. The Big Ten is last resort. They may have to make that choice some day but I dont think that day is imminently soon.
Good stuff Couz, was a wonderful surprise to hear you were doing this! Look forward to seeing more.

Good stuff. They are still well behind money wise relative to B10 and there endowment is irrelevant to sports funding. Endowment money is restricted.
Even so you point is correct, unless Notre Dame has a hard time scheduling post ACC. Who will they play if these conferences bring non conf games to 1 a year?

I completely disagree! When FSU/Clem etc leaves the ACC, ESPN will devalue that contract. This will decrease ND’s payout from the ACC. When the SEC/B1G increase members and conference games, this will essentially limit B1G teams from independently scheduling ND. This means ND’s schedule will be perceived weak preventing them from having top 12 finishes (playoff appearance).

A 9 or 10 game conference schedule is being discussed by the SEC as well.

If the Big 10 gets FSU and Clemson which I think they will that will increase their payout even more than the SEC and make them the top league . At that point if I’m the BIG I’m telling USC, Ohio state and all other BIG teams they aren’t playing ND and anyone who plays ND in the regular season they will not schedule in the regular season in FB ever. I’d even make a scheduling alliance with Stanford in exchange for them refusing to play ND. I’d be as dirty as I can to ND if I’m the BIG.

Yea ND getting 35Mill from Espn by way of Cfp and Acc.
Then nbc money even if only 50Mill.... equals 85Mill NDame makes every year.
Why mess that up? Stay Indy

ND will not join any conference in FB as long as the other conferences pander to them. Why should they?

Notre Dame+Miami+Stanford is a final expansion round not a next upcoming expansion round.

ND will join the Big10 within 2 years. It will become increasingly harder to get teams from the Big10 and SEC to schedule them. They'll be forced into a conference or begin to have a lackluster schedule. Once the p2 stop scheduling them, they'll join. Big10 and SEC will have no reason to schedule non cons against them and the Big12 won't be a big enough draw for them

ND making all the cash from the CFP and NBC will allow them to stay independent. And, you know a “ok” ND will get in the CFP and get the $6M bonus.
And Couz, you are 100% wrong on one point; the #1 fanbase in America is West Virginia!!

WVU does have an insane fan base, lol. Back when Playboy used to publish the top party schools in the country, WVU was always near the top, lol. I love going to Morgantown for work.

As an Ohioan, let those weirdos stay in a corner. We the Big 10 know that ND is in Indiana but they're in the ACC for a reason: we don't want or need them.
