This is amazing. Please do share volunteer information. Some people are alone for the holidays even if it’s not by choice. You could really make a difference for someone by just letting them get involved or be part or something meaningful.
Its called “Pay it Forward” and when I was in my early twenties I was the beneficiary of “paying it forward” when there were those that helped me get clean and off drugs and expected nothing in return other than to see me happy and doing well. So when I can I try to pay it forward because I have seen the benefits of doing so, and I teach my kids this too. The idea is to just put some good out into the world, because even when things look bleak its that good that you put in the world that will help all of us overcome it.
You are paying for salaries: "The average Catholic Charities USA executive compensation is $238,001 a year. The median estimated compensation for executives at Catholic Charities USA including base salary and bonus is $225,790, or $108 per hour. At Catholic Charities USA, the most compensated executive makes $950,000, annually, and the lowest compensated makes $34,000."
Great idea BUT do it as the CFC campaign in the military does...each item should have the percentage that goes to overhead costs so the buyer knows how much of their donation actually goes to those that need it. There were many 'charities' that didn't meet the minimum (IIRC 20%) overhead. There were charities that had very low (@ 5%) overhead costs. How many of these charities can meet that standard?
I’m sorry but something doesn’t seem right here. Some of these items are OVER PRICED. Then I replayed the clip to pay special attention to the details. 100% is going to the CHARITY…not an actual person who would be receiving said items or services. I would like to see interviews of the actual people who received these items and what they actually received.
You'd be better off buying a coat, gloves, shoes, blankets whatever and handing it to a homeless person directly than rely on the word that the funds actually go where they are needed...
Its always religious groups that give, while those who hate religion always think they are entitled to receive, and never think its their job to give back.
I hope all cities can have these year round! ❤

Sharing is caring! Love Kelly & Kimani ❤
This should be something that is done year round.
This is great!

"Way to go Detroit!"
How soon until the rioters try to take the money out of the machine?
How about interviewing Recipiant's Receiving These Gift's to prove it's Not A Big Money Scam!

Now do the Mormon church
This is nice
Will come up as a scam somehow, the charity probably takes 90% and gives 10% to needy

Ya' lost me at CLDS.
Lost me at Mormons… they no doubt get a tax break. Better to give straight to your local food bank and shelters.
