Annabeth Chase agreed; the tone completely changed with the new director which wasn’t necessarily bad. And it could have been brilliant if they just spent another 5 minutes explaining moony wormtail padfoot and prongs! Unforgivable omission.
Personally, I love long books and OotP is my favorite of all the canon. I love books that make me actually angry and of course Umbridge does that perfectly.
Seamus: complains about how long The Order of The Phoenix is Me (a German): has read that book in German... the translation is more than a 1000 pages...
@Booper Dooper German, as a language, takes far more syllables to say stuff, in general, and I can only think of a few examples where the German word is shorter than its English counterpart ('weil' for 'because', but we can also say 'as', so... we still win. 'Statt' rather than 'instead of', I suppose... But yeah, we usually win in brevity, and I can't think of more than five examples from the top of my head). German has a few things which I find efficient, such as grammatical cases, but it still usually takes longer. I have a copy of The Philosopher's Stone in each (Der Stein der Weisen - literally "the stone of the wise" - in German) and the size difference is comical.
@Booper Dooper Dutch and German are pretty similar, I think, but I haven't seen much Dutch outside of Amsterdam airport on my way to Denmark. One example that comes to mind is 'als', which is German 'when' but only for past tense, and I think Dutch 'when' all the time? My knowledge is *very* limited. Whack some stuff into Google translate and check it out.
@@azuregriffin1116 You also have to take into account not only the German inclination for long compound words and relative clauses but the dilemma of the gerund existing in English, which usually has to be resolved differently. One sentence in English could very well be divided into two separate sentences in German, for better readability etc. So naturally, every book will almost certainly always be longer in German.
"Other than the whole Sirius and Wormtail side of it, you won't really have missed that much." Remus Lupin. Expecto Patronum. James Potter. Animagi. Buckbeak. Hippogriffs. Hagrid teaching. Azkaban. Dementors. Boggarts. Hogsmede. More information on how Harry's parents died. Werewolves. Some of these are incredibly important, some of them serve to flesh out the world and give us more context on other things later, but both categories are worthwhile. It's like saying the Chamber of Secrets would've been worthless if Tom and Mouldy Voldy were different people.
the prisoner of azkaban movie is absolutely my favorite by far but i must say that the final shot is just. the funniest thing. how did this make it into the final cut??? i will never understand it's so fuckin weird
Yeah, and Filch was just holding a knife at the end of Ron's bed to kill a bug. Also Crookshanks ate Scabbers, end of story. Don't worry about that random Pettigrew fella that suddenly shows up, and is majorly important, and the weird guy who's sending letters to Harry in the next book without any context.
@@JonathanSmith-ge4pi that's actually a pretty good question. What if an animagus is eaten by another animal or a human?! And what if they turn into a human the moment they enter the mouth?!

Jashua Rai p sure in tue book he says ‘harry youre a wizard’ which idk
No no no your saying it wrong it's yer a wizard seamus
Either this was pre-recorded or your hair grows _fast_
when was this filmed? your hair is different
I know that’s the first thing I thought
He mentioned this in that break video where he already had videos prepared before he took that break
Probably around when he filmed the last one
Holcomb Studios he mentioned he had pre-recorded two videos
i completely agree with his explanation on prisoner of azkaban yet it's been my favorite since i was a kid lmao
THE RISE OF SKYWALKER CLIP IN THERE I'M CRYING AKSGGSA YES SEAMUS THROW THAT SHADE
Seamus: children can read them
Me: laughs in almost 900 pages in book 5/7
Guys nvm I finished it in 2 weeks
.... Yeah kids can read them....just takes some time.
Isaiah Mc Intosh I’m speaking as child, I’m not that patient
@@mjfadeaway22 speaking as a person who read the books as a child just keep reading and break it up into manageable segments. Or maybe you just don't like the story?
Isaiah Mc Intosh I love the book it’s just I just find it very long
@@mjfadeaway22 keep reading increasingly difficult books both fiction and non fiction across various time periods and cultures. Alongside well aging the books won't seem that long when you get textbooks nearly that 3/4 the length lol.
"Jump right into the SIRIUS stuff" 😏
When it says ‘3 seconds ago’
My favorite moment is when Hermione clocks Malfoy in the face
omg Seamus you are the literally the only person who has the same opinions as me on CoS and PoA
I’ve honestly never understood why people thought the prisoner of Azkaban movie was so amazing, I thought it was really disappointing when I watched it. They left SO much out from the book, which was AMAZING
Annabeth Chase agreed; the tone completely changed with the new director which wasn’t necessarily bad. And it could have been brilliant if they just spent another 5 minutes explaining moony wormtail padfoot and prongs! Unforgivable omission.
You forgot the Very Potter Musical trilogy!
Did somebody say Draco malfoy?
_Harry freaking Potter!_
Darren Chris
Natalie that deserves to be at the top.
Pigfarts, Pigfarts, here I come!
Its almost as if the cursed child never happened
It didnt
he only did canon stuff haha
The what?
The what?
As far as I'm concerned, it didn't. May the nether world have it.
Seamus is proud of himself when someone says “I am starting to hate you.”
I really enjoyed this video. Well done, Seamus! 👏
When you're one of the people that likes the crimes of grindelwald, and feel so out of the loop in the fandom when it gets dragged... XD
I liked it too. I can see why people have problems with it, but it's not horrible.
Kori Mominee CoG was awesome
@@PKMNResearcherSkyler same
Personally, I love long books and OotP is my favorite of all the canon. I love books that make me actually angry and of course Umbridge does that perfectly.
One Harry Potter book seems to be missing.....oh right be says canon
Yo bro I haven't been to your channel in a minute and when I saw this it reminded me of why I subscribed last time props from the mid west of 'Merica
loving your videos, specially all the harry potter ones :)
*When the book is the worst but it's still really amazing.*

Max O'Byrne you are a handsome young man what is your age do you have a boyfriend

Seamus: complains about how long The Order of The Phoenix is
Me (a German): has read that book in German... the translation is more than a 1000 pages...
@@D0MiN0ChAn that too, of course.
The Finnish version is also north of a 1000 pages. Some languages just take more time to get to the point.
"Other than the whole Sirius and Wormtail side of it, you won't really have missed that much."
Remus Lupin.
Am I the only one who’s favourite Harry Potter book is the Order of the Phoenix?
I love it I can't pick a favorite though but it's one of my top
Jitske Maekelberg same! It’s also my favorite book.
Nope! It's my favourite too!
I love this channel so much!! This is one of my favorite channel’s!❤️
Seamus grew back his hair Harry Potter style.
Dude your opinion is so right
One of the books literally describes hermiones skin as white, none of jk Rowlings twitter counts as canon

The proceeds made from the textbooks were all donated to charity. It wasn’t a cash grab.
Yes, it was. They were grabbing the cash for charity.
That’s pretty shagadelic
If the sequels weren't better, than there'd be little point in having them
I'm sad that Seamus didn't talk about Dumbledore's commentary of Tales of Beedle the Bard. It's the best Part for me
“This is just a year where nothing happens.”
The knife marks on the fat lady portrait was just Mrs Norris don’t worry
Yeah, and Filch was just holding a knife at the end of Ron's bed to kill a bug. Also Crookshanks ate Scabbers, end of story. Don't worry about that random Pettigrew fella that suddenly shows up, and is majorly important, and the weird guy who's sending letters to Harry in the next book without any context.
@@JonathanSmith-ge4pi that's actually a pretty good question. What if an animagus is eaten by another animal or a human?! And what if they turn into a human the moment they enter the mouth?!
I don't know that Goblet deserved that much hate. It couldn't cover everything, and yes, it missed 3 really big opportunities, but they did have excellent cinematography, an amazing soundtrack outside of the Billy Idol copyright theft, and really great scenes for what was covered.
