I believe Jonathan Rhoumy did his very very very best acting in this particular episode.
You can feel the anguish because they won’t listen to him.
You can see the stress on his face. You can see the love he has for them.
And it just blows me away and makes me sad enough to cry and I feel his pain.
Because they won’t listen to him.
All I know is that this was my very favorite episode in the entire show so far.
It was very emotional I felt so drawn in and the acting was superb and
~the more you see Jonathan portraying Jesus the more you feel like you really are seeing really really really Jesus.
Jonathan exudes the love compassion etc. that Jesus most likely did too.
As this series moves forward it will be terribly distressing to see Jesus being tortured.
    I can’t even imagine I don’t want to imagine.
Thank you David this was really well explained and it’s really appreciated --thank you!

Hi, I just want to thank you for sharing your time and your insights with us. For one so young you are very wise. YaH has touched you and I believe He speaks through you at times. It may sound rediculous to some but not to others who see the same as I. Son, you are a blessing to me. I'm not yet elderly but at 59, I am not that young. As they say, I am closer to the grave than the cradle. This scene was so important to true believers. We see the scriptures played out, the implications to Yeshua, the anger from the people which mind you, remind me of today's fleshly anger at YaHs word. The fact you brought up the Sabbath thrilled my heart. The Sabbath, which has been proven to be on Saturday, has been discarded. People work on this day as much if not more than others. They don't honor this day as the true Sabbath. On top of that, they use their false Sabbath, Sunday in much the same way. Eating out; causing others to work for them, mowing grass, cleaning out the garage, watching football instead of being about the Father's work. Son, you have nailed today's issues so rightly by using this scene. I'm sorry for going down the rabbit hole I am just so inspired by one so young seeing the truth in scripture. Please don't be offended. The pharisees were some of the worst. They held doctrines of man above YaHs laws. This angered Yeshua. This is one thing he was fighting for. But the pharisees was like the 1% today, they are right, we are wrong. Keep up the kingdom work son

Jesus made this public proclamation, not just to a town, but a small town, filled and primarily his own relatives. This is why he was also rejected. Their thinking was likely that Jesus should profit them through "Signs and Wonders", because they are "family".

    Very well done 👍
I usually can't sit though and listen to these types of videos being dissected because #1 it usually doesn't make sense when the person is speaking. #2 the person isn't speaking from facts but opinions. You spoke very clear and broke everything down so the watcher could understand not only what you were saying but could understand the story from all sides. You just really did very well with your speaking and breaking down fact's for us viewers and you backed everything up with scripture. That right there, 💯

Bravo bravo bravo I just applaud your video message on the reading of Isaiah and how you with such Grace applied it to God's word explaining in such an eloquent way what was going on in that scene. I'm a medical missionary and my Ministry is one where I go wherever the Lord tells me and I just have encounters I don't know how to explain it but I'm like an evangelizing canvaser. The Lord brings me the people who are hurting who need the water who needs to sit down and eat the word The Living Word. We've been following this chosen on and off. And I see things that are biblical and things that are not biblical but what I really really appreciated is this video that you put together to really apply God's word and lead us back to that so that the average person could understand. When I'm ministering to people I just want them to see the light of Jesus and who he is and what he has done for me in my life. I'm always smiling when I meet a fellow brother who loves the Lord and as part of the body of Christ and being used to glorify God. You're doing a fantastic job I look forward to your next commentary. Keep preaching at my brother

A cautionary tale for today as well. How many that claim to follow Jesus get self righteous, and think that through their own devotion, and following of rules and what they do, they are saved. Instead of the realization, that nothing you do can save you. It is only what Jesus has done, and your acceptance of the need for HIM to substitute Himself to take the punishment for our sin. We all fall short. We all need substitutionary atonement or we will be the one facing the penalty for our sin. . . . death. And my devotion, my faithful attendance of church, my giving to the poor, while nice, does not make me favored or special, or forgiven.

I especially love your explanation of how prophets should be determined. Just like the mindset of the Jews in the time of this video,I have witnessed Christians today uphold a similar mindset:
When Jesus arrived on the scene (though he has been there always), it was during a time of oppression and political turmoil which caused many to lose faith, while others expected God to send a warrior Messiah that would deliver the people. Because of their political turmoil and oppression, it was a prosperous time for false prophets to prey on their itching ears.
Today is a very similar time, as there are many so called prophets on the internet.
I lost a good friendship because my friend became obsessed with a popular Internet prophet that misquoted scripture, and "prophesied" a certain political person would be back in office in 2weeks, and that was reinforced by several other self-proclaimed prophets, taking many newborn Christians away from the purpose of Jesus' return, and of our need to be ready.
I tried to explain the litmus test for a true prophet, and my friend incinuated I wasn't seeing the truth because I didn't believe her (this prophet).I was rebuked by my friend, "She predicted many will not believe her followers when they share her revelation."
Obviously her prophecies were hit and miss. Some flopped, but some came close. This was enough to reinforce what many of her followers wanted to believe in the first place. (Also, no one knows when Jesus will return, Jesus said He won't know until the Father sends Him). During her direct messages from God, she even set times that failed to happen. She and her other internet prophet friends have wasted many Christian's faith by causing them to rely on them for information, rather than turning to God directly, or His Word for guidance.
I'm afraid that many Christians (like the Jews in this episode) will not accept Jesus on His return,
because He is not a fan of any particular candidate, or will not champion a particular political party. Of course, as Christians, we should vote responsibly,, but we must be careful where we place our faith.
I can only hope my friend sees this video, as he has told me he is watching The Chosen. 😊

Jesus Christ came up with the law and made it a command, so I see it that He was that law and had come to fulfill it, and bring a higher law. To me, He was the law, and He still is the law.
Like, there’s so many things that’ve been written as dialogue that’s in The Chosen, but not in the Bible.
“Get used to different”, for instance. Does that have the essence of Christ in it? Was the world being told to get used to change, discoveries, growth?

A very well thought out and presented overview of the Scriptures and the scenes from the Chosen. You did an awesome job of showing how people can misinterpret Scripture, because of a number of reasons. It shows the importance of Acts 17:11. Study and search out God's Word. While at the same time asking and seeking God's wisdom and understanding of His Word. We all are to do this, not just Pastors and Preacher's. Besides it's truly incredible to learn who God is. All Scripture points to Jesus. Finding Him and Fellowship with Him throughout the Scriptures, its pretty awesome as well.

      .
I came across some information about this particular part of the Gospel,
it seems that during those times it was the custom for each family to be assigned a particular verse in the scriptures for a family to read during a particular sabbath,
this was what happened when Jesus went home to Nazareth because it was his family's turn to read the verse that was assigned for that particular Sabbath,
then the chair was supposed to be the Moses chair, a chair that the members of the Sanhedrin would love to occupy,
and so it seems that at the beginning of his ministry that things were somehow falling into its places,
      .

The chapter, how it is written in the Gospel, is so much more moving than how it is portrayed in the scene. There is a lot of creative liberties taken as well, as Jesus never proclaims in the Gospel that He is the law of Moses (this is in the LDS Book of Morman and not in the New Testament), but instead He proclaims that He came to fulfill the law. "Do not think that I have come to abolish Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them" Matthew 5:17 ESV. The law does not saves us, Jesus does. Read your Bible!

Wow! Yes you definitely complete explanation of this beautiful scenes of scripture . Gosh! I was so in awe of how JESUS aka Jonathan Roomie " the Sign" they were demanding is standing right in front of them ! Yet blinded by their own disbelief . How? Where is the Faith? Are they listening with their heart or in the mind of Christ / God , Almighty? Are they being judgemental ? Who does He think he is? I was WOW just listening to Jesus of Nazareth speak I was in awe! Speechless. And recognizing the very word of God made flesh! Through my Faith in Jesus Christ . In 2023 . My perspective . Jesus , was sharing truth yet they were ready for it. It hit them like a wrecking ball in the temple where it's His Father's House. Each of them hit spiritually to change He was bringing freedom from the law , as He was New mandate the very WORD made flesh ! As in Genesis the first book of bible in the beginning . First page of this book. Old testament. He's now the New Testament continue from the old testament. And the finished son of God . Alpha and Omega . Past present and future . As He mentioned IAM your salvation ! Revenge is not yet that's in the future ! See ! Can you understand that! Revenge is the lord's battle not ours. Revenge in revelation you can read it last book of the bible . I don't know about Torah of the Jews preisrhood! You can look that up in library . Since that what happened then in this video explanation and revenge is a different story in the future. Clues in Book of Revelation . Although not to be so judgemental but knowledgeable for you to know as well . In your own Faith . Thank you so much for letting me share my faith as you enlightened me as well with your explanation. You really were on fire with the holy Spirit power! It was awesome and Jonathan Roomie performance was WOW! Speechless. I enjoyed entire video . Like at a prayer meeting ! Very beautiful well done. God Bless "The Chosen" series' . Universal church . For Jews and gentiles loved and mercy of God s people ! Amen alleluia alleluia praise and glory to Almighty God Amen Allelujia allelujia

    It's impressive.
The Pharisees and many of the people, at that time, believed because they were the seed of Abraham that was enough to justify them
As you have pointed out here, Jesus cane to save and redeem All Mankind, not just the " Chosen"

Jonathan Roumie is the best actor portraying Jesus I have seen ever in my 59 years of life. When he is on screen he is so focused on Jesus to direct him. His face and body language plus the way he uses his voice with just the right amount of empathes and emotion. I am addicted to my Bible but I am not ashamed to say instead of meth I am now addicted to The Chosen.

Good job young man! I believe also, "the first will be last, and the last, first." The prostitute and rejected sinners, the little unknown ones, the less-known and famous ones will enter Heaven before the (self) righteous. Many Christians will be shocked like the Jews were in the film.

It's very significant that Jesus reads, at that time and place, to announce the Year of the Lords Favor" which Jews were in argument over since it happened every 49 years. Some say 50 years. The Jubilee has conditions one would have been John the Baptist's freedom, and land being returned to it's previous owners...remember the land that was sold to Judas friend? Messiah frees the slaves is part of it too. Jesus is the word...everything will pass away and all there is left is the word.

2 Peter 3:10-13 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness. Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and elements shall melt with fervent heat. Nevertheless, we according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

In the synagogue on the Sabbath or on a holy day, a portion of the Torah is read from and then a portion of the Prophets that corresponds with the Torah portion that was read from in some way is read. Nobody comes up and just reads from a portion he chooses or stops reading a portion where he chooses to.

I mentioned it in the video, but scholars debate on how far back that practice goes. That is customarily how most synagogues run their services, using a set calendar. We just don't know for sure what synagogue practices were in the 1st century.

Not "most", ALL Orthodox synagogues follow it.
In reality, even the so called new 'denominations' do, not that the latter would be relevant in this regard.
Your response, siding with those that are predominantly not of a religious mindset and are looking for evidence outside of Jewish tradition for when Jews started certain practices - through archeological discoveries or other sources - is similar to what Jews have had to put up with from Christianity for centuries. Telling us what we used to really do, what we really should believe, and like Martin Luther befriending us while doing it. Today, even 'loving' us. But when we didn't acquiesce to Luther's preaching and that of his followers, we then became the 'Synagogue of Satan' once more and even death was acceptable for us once again.
You don't know for sure, not just about this, but about anything that the New Testament or Christian doctrine contradicts Judaism on. If there is a contradiction, then obviously Judaism must have changed. Because a story in the Book of Luke can't be wrong on any detail, can it?

@@davidschalit907 There are many places where I'm ignorant; I never claimed to be all-knowing. But that's precisely my point: There are some things we simply don't know for sure. Torah never provides an explicit command on how synagogues were meant to be run, as people only truly began to gather in synagogues after the completion of the Hebrew Bible. It's certainly possible that Jewish synagogue practice has remained the same ever since then--we simply don't know. The destruction of the temple in AD 70 dramatically changed Jewish practice, and that's why people are uncertain. We aren't saying it DID change; we're just saying we can't know for certain either way, and I don't find that at all problematic.
I also don't see any reason to suggest a contradiction.
Thank you for your thoughtful response! God bless.

"These people have grown up thinking...". Yes, they've grown up believing the clear words of the prophesies, which Jesus can't fulfill.
"And he's totally changing their perspective"... meaning running a snow job on them to explain how he's still the messiah without doing anything the prophesies say the messiah will do.

    • @irav4u
      @irav4u ปีที่แล้ว

He fulfilled 130 prophesies in the Bible... but, I don't have to defend Him- He didn't ask for it and He doesn't need it.
